The NDAA, SOPA, Obama already having dictatorial powers in a dictatorial political system.. Drones and cameras spying people everywhere.. hmm the game already has many similarities with real life in the USA.

@StevieGG08 Oh. Well, the Source Engine has never really changed. So the 2003 Souce Engine was used. They may be trying to create an updated version though.

@StevieGG08 You mean the Source Engine. All games in the Orange Box use what's called the Source Engine. It was developed in the early 2000's, maybe 2003, to be the new engine for most of VALVe's games. The original Half-Life in 1998 used what was known as the GoldSrc Engine.

It's amazing how well this game still holds up graphically, unlike the first one. Every FPS should hold this game as the standard.

i played it just recently again. it was patched to the most modern source code by steam, so it won't run good on my 2005 machine on which i could play it with maxed settings only about a year ago!

of course it's a nice thing from valve to do so, but people with older machines like my one can't really set it back to the original graphics quality and play it smoothly again.

@jonbob0008 Half Life 1's graphics were mind-blowing for the time. Same for HL2, I guess it just compares better to today's games. It's all relative.

This is a nice Longplay and it's interesting to see other people play one of my favorite fps. This guy deals with enemies often completely different from what I use to do and that makes it fun to watch. =) And I also like how he shows us things in the game and does not just rush through.

also you might not read this but what kind of computer do you have that lets you run this game so smoothly even while recording?

@SCIENTIST619 It's a few years old though. Core 2 duo E6600, 2 GB RAM and a geForce 8800 GTX. Couldn't record games like GTA 4 or Crysis, for instance. Too bad for the latter. :op

i remember when this amazing intro was released at E3 2003 oi 2004 if i remember correctly, everyone was blown by this awesomeness which back then it was never before seen! the facial model and muscle animation WOW! what an amazing game!
