I have been to Ko Olina and stayed at the JW, I shriek at the amount of people that will overcrowd this tiny bay. I don't think they put enough thought into having two large resorts sharing a bay this small.

I do clerical work for the Aulani team and sit rather near to Joe Rohde. That's one piercing, not several. By the way, he's a super sweetheart. As for the resort, great pains have been taken to honor true Hawaiian culture. Many other wonderful cultures exist on the Hawaiian islands, but it was important to Joe and to Disney to be pure Hawaiian where this particular resort is concerned. It's scheduled to open end of August.

My concern is getting there from the east coast, booking the trip. Trying to find a deal on airfare and then hoping the nights are available or booking the nights and then not finding airfare or its astronomical. I can drive to WDW in <4hrs so last minute weekend trips to use some DVC points are quick and easy. This is a huge detractor for me from buying there.

I guess Disney Enterprises is starting a Hotel type of business like Hyatt and Hilton. The hotel does look great and I would go to that hotel whenever I come to Hawaii.

@clevm002 Hey i work at Disney World. Yes the actually do send us to speach and writing class. They want all of the castmembers (employees) to be well educated and ready for any question anybod might throw at them. There writing must be legible and their speaking ability must be exemplary.
