@Nebrox They are (were) both outstanding djembe folas. They are also two of the fastest players I know. Doesn't matter who's faster.

BTW check out Sidiki Dembele's djembe kans - He's Ivorian too and plays a lot like Guei. Very very fast hands and beautiful sounds.

What are those 'ears' on the djembe? I've seen them a lot in professional djembe vids here on YouTube, but never seen them available on online djembe shops.

these are ksink ksink or keskes, anciently used as shield when the musicians were playing at battles, and now evolved in resonators to ad a little "shine" on djembe's sound :D
