OMG! I so clearly how this song used to be my daily motivator a few years ago back home! it made soooo much sense to me and I gave that job my all....folks, even management recognized my passion....great one for all who believe in the value of honesty, hard work and fair recompense....God bless you Beautiful Nubia.
Onigbogi: Olusegun Akinlolu owns the copyright to everything concerned with this track and his other published works, including more than 100 songs in his 9 music albums, his - at least - three poetry CDs, his - at least - three books of poetry, and his - at least - one book of fiction. All these are works published since 1997. This is not only an original work, everything about this man appears original. We are - I dare say - in the presence of genius; let's celebrate him.
This beautiful song reminds me of the Lgos NYSC orientation camp. We woke up to this song everymorning. Also reminds my of the Luv of my Lyf Iphy...Met her in the Camp :)
@Afamify : And Iphy and yourself are up to it, you could invite this band to celebrate your union ;-) Amazing times no? To wake up to this track every morning, to listen and ponder for a while as you get yourself together to face the future that is the next 24 hours... it's a simple, yet powerful event. Thanks to Segun Akinlolu for sharing, and thanks to the DJ(s) for recognising brilliant work and putting it to good use for a purpose...
@Onigbogi Your observation is wrong! The only thing the IK Dairo song you are talking about has in common with this song is the phrase "owuro l'ojo" which is a popular yoruba saying. This is a totally original song by songwriter Segun Akinlolu/Beautiful Nubia. Hope that clears it up for you!
@Onigbogi wrote: "The song was originally written by I. K. Dairo"
-- Onigbogi, this is quite a bold statement. The closest thing to the theme of this song in I.K. Dairo's discography is his medley 'Ma Fowuro S'ere' in the 'Ise Aje' album. But there's where the similarity ends, the theme. The lyrics and melody of the music in this youtube video bear no resemblance to any I.K. Dairo music I know. If you do have proof, it should be enlightening for you to share it. This is fresh air ...
@Onigbogi . You are right. "Owuro lojo" is a well know Yuroba saying, but I always thought it I.K. Dairo that sang it first in the sixties; I remember the song and it brings back memories. PLS POST THE IK DAIRO SONG OR THE LINK IF YOU HAVE IT, THANKS.
lknow in personally ,is name is Dr akinlolu,we use to be family freind ,he went to UI not ife,he study vet medicine. Now hes base in canada .Neice and simple man
I'm not very sure about that. I learned that he studied and graduated from Vet. Medicine at the University of Ibadan from one of his interviews with Ademola Adeniyi of BCOS. But you may still be right that he went to Great Ife.
