My dad left when I was only 2, I'm 16 now. Haven't had any contact with him at all, he doesn't care enough. What's sad is he's lived 45 miles away from me my whole life. As a step father I encourage new step-fathers to be patient & kind. Being a man doesn't qualify you to be anything, especially a disciplinarian. Get to know the children, go places, learn from them. If you can lend a helping hand or just listen do that. It took me a long time to understand. From the understanding grew mutual trust and eventually, best of all, love.

I love this song. My dad was the center of my life when I was a little girl. He was always there for me. I have my dad to thank for me being a strong independent women. He wanted me to grow up to not need a guy that way I could take care of myself. Well I am 22 years old and have a daughter that I am raising on my own. I thank my dad for making me who I am and for being there however I needed him wheither it was for comfort or punishment. I love you dad. Love your baby girl.
