Samus' long grapple "cheat" can home if you hold R or L I think. Basically, the other Samus hid under something, but the grapple still homed on her, and that was the result..

if you're talking about the ice climbers, you get nana to grab bowsser then use your tornado hammer with popo, it should freeze bowser. Its a little hard to do though.
