I drove one of these today with the 5-speed. It lives up to the hype.
I didn't buy it...why? No awesome 3-door like the UK and Aussies are spoiled with. All are small cars here in the U.S. are ugly pieces of crap (except for the new Fiesta, that is)...but I want a 3-door, Ford! Make it happen and you'll get my money!
if they fitted better plastics everywhere in the car it wouldn't be the same price as it is, the car overall is well built, handles well, the ride is great, it as tons of gadgets, and it looks great (at least for me, the looks can be arguable for some)
Fantástico!! O FIESTA já era bom, agora ficou melhor. Esse designe é maravihoso e totalmente inovador. É um conceito. O painel é fascineate nesse sentido semi-horizontal. LIndo. O espaço continuou o mesmo. Eu amo a Ford.

I'm not a big fan of this segment of cars such as the Honda Fit or the Toyota Yaris but it would be great to see this compete against the Chevy Aveo as I am sure that just about anything could be an improvement from that crapheap
I may be in the market for a new car in a few years or so and this or a Focus might be the ticket
I part excahnged my Corsa VXR for a 1.25 Style as I recently bought a house and needed somthing cheaper to run. Its the best car I've ever had. I'm currently buying the Zetec S body kit for it peice by peice, up to now I've only got the rear spoiler and bumper. A super car highly recomended.
My wife bought a style + 1.25 a month ago. It's SO good I am trading in my Merc E320 and buying a Titanium 1.6 . It so much fun to drive. The mp3 player is awesome. Best small car - beats all the competition.
Very cheap looking inside? Smeg55, you 're nuts! It's exactly the opposite. Only the plastic of the door (the guy knocks it), could be better. But it is a small exception. Pumpkinzer is also nuts. Maybe you should look for a Ferrari mate, not for a sporty supermini!
9.9 seconds is the poorest 0-60 time for a 1.6 16-Valve Sporty Supermini. Its dead on 10 seconds, not what I would call a "sporty" performance from what is expected from a 1.6 in a small car. Lively or nippy would be best described. Even an MGZR 1.4 with 103 Bhp can do 0-60 in 10s dead & the old shape Focus 1.6 with 98 Bhp can hit 60 in 10s flat. A Focus is also a bigger/heavier car than a Fiesta
Ok, fair comment.Yes, "lively or nippy" are best words to describe this car, although the 0-60mph is not the only performance figure that characterises a sporty car. We should look at the other acceleration figures as well. Of course, the 1.4TSI VW group cars and the Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.4T are better in these figures also, but I prefer Fiesta's design combined with what the 1.6Ti-VCT engine has to offer. You just can't have it all!
Stuff the 1.6 120ps Ti-VCT... I'd grab a Seat Ibiza 130ps TDi or a Fiat Punto Grande JTD Multijet 130ps anyday! They are the same insurance group... slightly quicker than the 1.6 Fiesta from start. Then they have even bigger amounts of poke higher up the range with 6-gears! They offer 50 miles per gallon on a cruise, Lower tax bracket, they hit the same top speed. You can have it all just get a Punto Grande JTD 130! Sod the depreciation it only drops 1-grand below a Fiesta after 3 years! :-)
Lol, I already have the Fiesta 1.6 Ti-VCT!You propose Turbodiesel cars, but I live in a city where diesel powered passenger cars are forbidden: Athens! So only gasoline!
I cannot believe how Ford managed to make their 2009 Fiesta 1.6 (Ti-VCT 120) slightly slower than their Focus 1.6 (Ti-VCT 115). The Focus is a larger corpse for a 1.6 to push along then not only that its also 5Bhp less... But its actually ended up being a bit quicker than its more compact sister. 2005-2009 Focus 1.6 115 Ti-VCT 0-60 9.5seconds vs 2009 Fiesta 1.6 120 Ti-VCT 0-60 9.9seconds.
I don't understand either.Maybe it has to do with the gear ratios? The differential ratio?Or the size of the wheels?Or all of them combined?Ok, the Fiesta, wearing 17" rims, can reach 62km/h in 1st gear, 121km/hr in second gear, 183km/h in third, 194 in fourth with fifth gear being overdrive. This shows that Fiesta has "long" gear ratios. Also the Focus Ti-VCT produces torque figure of 15.8kgm.
Apparently they sacrificed these 5BHP for increased torque at lower revs.Maybe these explain some things. I would be interested to learn the gear ratios of Focus.
considering the Zetec 1.6 S, is not officially the Sport version. Ford is making no claims that it is, they are however making claims that they are not doing an ST version.
I have driven Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S and found it a great drive.
You can get an Mountune upgrade, which takes the 0-60 to 7.9 which is certainly a lot quicker but falls short of the Clio 200 6.9
The Fiesta has so much potential, if an ST were to be produced , it could certainly rival the Clio 200.
Most if not all reviewers have confirmed the chassis in the Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S is better than the Clio 200. All Ford need do is tweak the Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S and make it an ST.
Don't put your money on Ford bringing out a 2009 ST. In 2003, everyone who bought the 1st generation Fiesta ST thought Ford were bringing out an RS Fiesta in 2006 when the current Fiesta was due a face-lift. Despite the high demand for an RS, they never did bring one out, They made a Zetec-S available instead. They just kept an ST & that was it. Now they are just keeping a Zetec-S & not bringing out an ST this time.
