  • my ps3 is really dusty i dont want to open it fully i only took it as far as looking at the blu ray driver but dont really want to open everything else up is that enough for my ps3 is the fat 40GB to prevent ylod

  • @tiggar194 No, the heat sink needs to be cleaned and the GPU and CPU repasted in order to prevent YLOD.

  • Ok I'm in do I restore anything or do I just restart the ps3?

  • @pokemonmaster90978 Do steps 3 and 4 first.

  • I was wondering why my ps3 would start up fine but it wont take me to my user screen could you help me out?

  • @pokemonmaster90978 If you don't get to the menu, your hard drive might be bad. Try starting the PS3 with the hard drive removed. You should get a "correct hard drive not found" message. If you do, you can try the recovery screen options (hold RESET until you hear 2 beeps) or try installing a new hard drive.

  • @fixmyplaystation Thanks

  • No my connection is fine I think it gets to hot some times but it only happens in high CPU deman games like bf3 hmm could the high demand of CPU useage casue a slight over heat and slows it's CPU frame rate ect to fix it's self?
