@alienir , Hava Nagila originated in the Ukraine as a wordless Hasidic melody. The melody was taken from a Ukrainian folk song. Go to the link below for the history of the Hava Nagila melody. messiahstudies. org / HavaNagila.
Лучший певец в Украине.А голос ему не нужен-такие прикольные песни.А вообще зачем попсовику голос?А вот у кое-кого супер оперный голос а выдержать невозможно.Мне его версия понравилась больше Кобзона.
Hava Nagila's melody is taken from a Ukrainian/Romanian folk song from the Eastern European region of Bukovina (which is partly in Ukraine and partly in Romania nowadays). The folk song dates back to the 18th century. If you visit Ukraine to this day the song is played during non Jewish weddings and other events.

@apro282 "Hava Nagila's melody is taken from a Ukrainian/Romanian folk song from the Eastern European region of Bukovina" - This is hilarious !!! Next step to say that Jews come from Ukrainians :)
I like the way that russian says "khava nagila" instead of "hava nagila".
Now, as for the dancing girls in the black dresses, if some rabbie saw a girl dancing to hava nagila while she's dressed like that, he'd hang her by her breasts... that is, unless some antisemitic russian will hang HIM by his balls first...
it was different, sure. I really liked the melody. Hebrew is ofcourse in more of a harmonious flow mind you. Words matched the rythm better. But hey - always cool to see it from a different angle. Like pizza. It was originally Italian. dough tomato sause parmesan, olive oil. But then came the different style and toppings like feta cheese, Pineapple , chicken etc. and it was not bad. So yeah. It made for good music. As long as we dont loose the hebrew version
Could please say the name of the singer, but in English? Thanks.
