The process starts really early. I picked one or two things to focus on in high school outside of academics. If you have mostly A's and B's in mostly AP courses with a 2100+ SAT score, then you have as good of a shot as anyone. Just make sure to write essays that show how you think about the world and some of your true aspirations. Don't write things like "I love science. I am good at it. Therefore MIT is perfect for me". They need to know your story in order to see you as a person.

I noticed that Susan Hockfield, President of MIT, is on the board of directors of GE. What’s that all about? (Yes, I know, prestige for GE.) She should be embarrassed to be associated with such an unsuccessful enterprise as GE. President Hockfield should either start working to get rid of CEO Immelt and his cronies or resign from the board in favor of somebody who will. In fact, I’m not giving any more money to MIT until she does one or the other.

i saw some people in youtube write "i got accepted or i am so happy to be there" but in reality they don't because when i asked my cousin(who knows everybody in campus!) if this guy or girl is from his university it turns out they don't exist!

@CaribbeanCharlie your comment makes no sense. My sister is in MIT. I doubt that one person knows over 4,000 people! No offense but if someone says they got accepted it is most likely true. ; )

@Scelenaarwen thanks! you can just message me on youtube and I'll respond to your questions. Just to let you know, I actually turned down MIT for Stanford. It was a difficult thing to do, but I know I made the right choice.

I've already applied and now waiting for MIT's admission responce ((if i get admitted)) .also MIT has a great reputation for providing almost full financial aid and scholarships that is what makes it unique
