Os look and feels like iphone os atleast ad more robust features animation and flow to a bigger device like the media center has something like that but in an OS and camara missing is just a reason to buy the next version the could do that and also add a front one for video chat. kickstand would be nice too and usb instead of there propriety bull shit even though companies like Motorola use usb they make sure u use only there chargers all other chargers would work. The reason apple doesnt have SD card slot is that if customers have the ability to increase the storage capacity, they would not buy new versions of Ipad which would come with increased storage capacity.

3. steve jobs is a minimalist, he hates buttons and ports and things... why else would they put all the port on the iMac on the side and why else would the iPhone/iTouch have only like 3 buttons? apple LOVE minimalistic design.. and it seems so does everyone else who buys their product

the real more important reason for 4:3 ratio is its simply nicer to hold in hand, which is easily forgotten but super important.

This product may have cost as much as a entry level macbook pro, if the features that a lot of people were asking for had been implemented. I totally agree that as DRBUK stated in the video that this device is for content consumption and not content creation. This device is IMHO for business users on the go who want a better internet experience with a larger screen, using email and notes, and people in higher education and the casual internet user and ebook reader with music and video.Nice vid

Can someone break it down for me....if you go with a 8/16/32GB, how much does that hold, lol. I guess if we look at a two hour video, how many GB's does that take up? Hard for me/rookie mac guy to truly know how much space I will need? Must be a chart of some kind to break this all down.

Its about 700mb for a scaled down movie for iPhone size. Its 3-4gb for a full blown HD. 1 for descent. 16 if your on a budget, 32 if you have alot of media.

I like iPad's design, its really beautiful. My concern though is if it wobbles when trying to type on a flat surface due its curvy back? Its important because not all the time I would type it on my lap, and also I dont like using any kind of case with even my ipods. Did anyone mention about this?

But I am a bit puzzled by the 4:3, 1024x768 screen.

I think they should have gone for a 1280x960 LCD.

Because, like you said, 4:3 is better for the things an iPad will do for its user.

Like surfing, reading books etc.

But a 1024x768 cant show 720p without downscaling it to 1024x576, in 16:9 aspect ratio.

A 1280x960 would still be 4:3, but be able to show 1280x720 natively.

I think it is only logical that they have given VGA output to the iPad instead of DVI/HDMI/Displayport.

Why?

VGA is universal, and cheap, like you said.

In the businessworld, there aren't many flatscreens or projectors that don't have VGA.

Most of them have VGA and DVI.

Some have HDMI as well.

Almost none have Displayport.

So to ensure that you could hook this up to a AV-system, the VGA is a sure bet.

I install that kind of studd, so the VGA sounded like a perfect choice because I see whats out there.

But also, for home use, almost any flatscreen-tv or desktop-monitor has VGA.

So, as I said. It's a sure bet. Would be nice to have DVI or Displayport as well, but if I had to choose one out of those 3 standards (from a device), I'd go for the VGA anyday.

Because there will practically not be any screen, monitor or projector I couldn't hook the iPad to.

I can imagine when they pitched their recommended chip to Steve they were like:

4:3 Is better for E-Book reading, better for internet, others... If its 4:3 is allow more than just worrying about movies and if you watch movies on a computer (Other than a new iMac) it is usually going to have the black boarders... Why complain?

Another excellent video mate lots of questions. I agree about the SD card but the must be a valid reason, I think you are right about design. It would have been nice to have the feature and the ability that SD cards can give I think you answered your own question when you said about the £20 adapter. All cables that Apple or any other tech company sell have on most a 300% profit markup on the cable. Cables are produced for next to nothing and sold because we need them and will pay whatever.

Whilst watching the Keynote again....i Noticed something....when Steve Jobs shows the iPad, as he holds it up, the light catches the iPads surface, illuminating something underneath. That something looks like an iSight camera, similar to the ones built into MacBooks, under the screens. IS Apple lying to us? Or will Apple add the camera back in before launch???

No USB? Do you blame camera manufactures for not putting a USB plug on their cameras so you can have more storage? The iPad is the thing you plug in not the other way around. Plus the things you cant store on the SSD you can wirelessly get. Do really want to be entangled with cables while laying on your sofa? Why do we blame Apple when really other companies should be into wireless transfers. Wouldnt it be better to transfer pics from your camera wirelessly to your iPad? No cables NO MESS!

they probably couldn't fit any ports (like usb, sd card).. i mean u said earlier in the video that you still don't know how they got it that thin and light.. i think that's how. and we don't always need to connect to peripherals or external displays, so it makes sense to carry them when necessary only, and using the 30-pin connector as the main plug for everything. im really excited about the possibilities ahead for this device. mobileme could be upgraded to make this device even more awesome!
