@gtank11 It looks like what would now be a Savanna Drilling TeleDouble rig, I work on a rig 22 in in southern sask it its an old Lakota rig, looks just like it...and the guy had a lakota coveralls and one had stoneham coveralls, i think stoneham is the same thing.

I was the 1st woman to break into the Texas Panhandle Oilfield as a roustabout..in 6mos I was a foreman and had my own crew. The guys were great couldn't ask for a better bunch. They knew there wasn't nothing that I wouldn't do, worked side by side. They tried to dare me to work just a couple hours on a rig...HELL NO!! I keep ground beneath my feet!! I loved the work and made lots of money for my company. Boss would get calls to only send "THAT GIRL" to trouble shoot wells.

I am all for knowledge though. Everyone that goes on a lease should know how to shut in the well In my opinion.

@walperstyle A roustabout is identical to a leasehand, just a different title. They do have similar job descriptions but some tasks do differ in the states. Also in the states there are many mom & pop operations where even the cook can troubleshhot a well. This however is not an Industry standard ANYWHERE in the world. I have worked both for many years. Lastl;y, the term "FOREMAN' is not a recognized term on any rig worldwide, again except in someones own sandbox if they wih to use it.

I know you americans do it a little differently, but you must have known someone to be able to get all your well control certificates and take over drilling your own leases. 

Up here we have the energy company who runs the lease and well, and they contract the Rig. Two separate identities. Either way, if you are a 'consultant' thats good money, cheers!

Cause it's an outdated method. Usually there will be an hydraulic automated iron rough neck. I work for Weatherford, an american company which supplies these tools...so why don't they use them on american soil?

they do, i've used a waetherford iron roughenck on an hp rig. they are slow. tongs are faster and sill allowed by osha specs.
