The research she's referring to is the object rendered invisible is a 2-dimensional object make invisible to microwaves by wave guides (solid metal circles). This is in no way an invisibility cloak. The 2-d object is stationary as are the waveguides. Wave guides are utilized in microwave ovens. There is no way to make a 3d/moving object invisible.

This may not make it completely invisible per se... but close. We're not there yet, but laboratory tests have shown that this has been effective in the microwave wavelength (not yet on the visible light wavelengths). The next trick is to make it work at many wavelengths, preferably in the visible spectrum. ;-)
