It's a great technique and can work well. I was a bit concerned when she had her student say 'Last summer was more scorching...' though. Scorching is already an extreme adjective, and shouldn't be modified like that.

Great technique. How do you deal with the semantic boundaries of such words? For example, if your students provided examples like 'today the classroom is lukewarm' or 'this soup is scorching'...
