Islamic followers DO feel the same way about anything that resembles a Christian cross. Do some research. Try reading just SOME of what their Qur'an dictates. Islam is a "way of life", politically, militarily, economically, disguised as a "religion". Muslims can NOT co-exist with non-muslims, it is forbidden in the Qur'an. Look up the Arabic word "Taqiyya". It is in the Qur'an, and is a direct order from their prophet, Muhammed. Educate yourself, and stop "assuming".

Its true that they also feel the same way about Christian symbols, although just because they do doesn't mean that we should. I don't like stereotypes and I strive to avoid them. The most populous Muslim country is actually far from the middle east in Indonesia. I lived there for a couple of years teaching English, so I can say firsthand that not all Muslims are bad people or dislike Christians. Unfortunately it is the few bad ones that we remember and associate with Islam.

@majorlagg1 The shortest-distance direction to Mecca IS northeast from PA. The major here seems to be thinking of the rhumb line direction to Mecca--the direction of constant compass heading--but that is not how Muslims define the diretion to Mecca.

That does not even remotely point to mecca. Mecca is at roughly 360 (north) to 25 degrees in your photo from the central point of the illustration. The memorial is at roughly 50 degrees according to the red arrow in your illustration. They aren't even close. Given the distance from Somerset to mecca, you aren't even looking at Saudi Arabia.
