FYI: Another version of this ad, with better color plus more Pam Austin clips, can be seen under the title: "1967 Dodge Dart TV ad & Pamela Austin tribute".
The Dodge commercials were not make to cash in on Austin's role in The Perils of Pauline. It was in fact, the other way around. She became so popular that the movie was made to cash in on her popularity in them. The only problem was, the movie was just awful and pretty much sunk her film career before it began.
Every once in a while Turner Classic Movies will run Hootenanny Hoot. You can catch her there.
@MattBL Wasn't Pamela Austin's voice also dubbed by someone else as well?
Notice how in this commercial, she has a genuine Southern accent, but in "The Perils of Pauline", her voice didn't sound anything like a southern accent at all?
@RRaquello : I believe you're thinking of Pamela RODGERS on Laugh-In. She also starred in the short-lived Hey, Landlord! a season and a half before Laugh-In.
42 years later and I still adore this beauty, there is little info about her and I believe she would be around 68 years of age today. She has a resume of 60's tv and never made it on her own yet was always in the major league playing bit parts. IMHO that is the face of an angel. I wish I knew if she's still alive....

@Christmasfellow2008 Thank you for the correction. I saw the movie and boy it was goofy. I blame the following:
The 60's BATMAN
The original CASINO ROYAL.
They were campy!
Did you see the part where the Sultan's son wanted to marry her. Listen and you'll hear June Foray's voice!
The only good thing about this movie was the film's score and Terry Thomas' performance.

Yes and no. She was not a cast member, but, for the first year, she was a guest star on around every third episode.

Wasn't she on Laugh-In? That year's Dodge Dart was really one boss car.

This commercial was made to cash-in with the 1967 remake of PERILS OF PAULINE which starred her.
