  • cracked too

  • Cracked!

  • At last - the pinnacle of all human achievement over thousands of years - we have turned the world into a fish-bowl of sea monkey's!

  • NOT THE BEEES AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHGHHHHHHH

  • *Insert snide airplane-related pun here*

  • its like a swarm of bees XD

  • Look at all the ones going to Hawaii. None going to Antartica though....

  • Wow...it's almost hypnotic. Like a lava lamp.

  • I see Oceanic Flight 815!

  • IT'S 200 FREAKING THOUSAND NUCLEAR WARHEADS!!

  • The final level of flight control

  • @yakarrar my god that made me laugh, bravo

  • This is pretty trippy. I like to imagine the yellow dots represent the spread of a disease. Which explains why there are so few dots on Madagascar. CLOSE ALL THE PORTS

  • look at the blob shadow passing from right to left. Looks like God is watching over the Earth.

  • at 1:05 anyone else notice the plane thats going faster then shit on a ceiling fan?

  • At 1:03-1:06, watch the far northeastern part of Russia, near the Yucatan Peninsula. A flight coming in west from the far northern Pacific Ocean lands in the middle of nowhere. Research station, perhaps?

  • @Okoru778 Where do you want us to look? Russia or Yucatan? The Yucatan peninsula is in central america, lol.

  • @j0ofez I hate geography. I meant the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia.

  • Awesome. :)

  • Bumblebees! aaaaah!

  • I was recommended a Lady Gaga song because I watched this.

    ...What?

  • Simply - commercial aviation is the greatest achievement of mankind. To run thousands of such an intensely complex and precisely engineered vehicles worldwide with so few glitches and even fewer disasters in airspace this crowded, is the perfect cooperation of science, engineering, business ops, government regulations and the paradoxical mix of human passion and discipline. I'm proud of my dad, a pilot, and hope to take to the air myself soon. Cheers to all the fellow aviation maniacs!

  • holy shit, from 0:45 watch the north-west side of the screen, the dot that travels to the north-east side of the screen. What the hell is that and why does it go so goddamn fast? Some military grade aircraft?

  • @deadm ok, i might be wrong but it may be due to the cartographic technique used on this diagram. It's a Mercator projection, which spreads the sphere's surface onto rectangular plane, effectively 'forcing' the horizontal distances to extend with distance from equator. So in fact, the planes might be flying with the same speed as the ones due south, but as they seem faster as they have to make up for the greater 'fictional' distance which in fact isn't any greater. Just a theory ;)

  • @deadm The world is Round, now go look at a globe and figure it out.

  • @deadm It's just flying straight over the pole (basically going N/S rather than E/W.)

But because you can't see that on the E/W map, it's like it practically teleports.

No USA secret planes there. (they'd be invisible to radar anyways) :)

  • I like how there are random flights flying over the artic

  • the world is amazing

  • I can see Hawaii.

  • Is Madagascar still open or did they close their port?

  • @ZoltanFoxchase plus 1 internet for you and whom ever gets that joke.

  • @ZoltanFoxchase they closed their port about two seconds into the simulation. The fuckers.

  • @ZoltanFoxchase why would Madagascar close it’s ports?

  • @zyansh There's a flash game where you're a virus/bactery/parasite who aims to destroy the entire human species, the thing is, due to the code if someone cough in brazil due to your soon-to-anihilate-the-world micro organism Madagascar goes on HIGH ALERT and close it's border. if you don't already have an infectee in madagascar the game is unwinable since it's only in-game contact with the game-world is a single airport.

  • @Daydayeuh Isn't that game called Pandemic, or Para something?

  • @zyansh to contain the disease

  • CRACKED

  • Gave me goosebumps. Reminded me of bugs.

  • At 54 seconds, a dot heading west from South America disappeared. Did it crash in the sea?

  • @SkunkJames They disappear when they land

  • @aknonnerd yes, that much is apparent, but I do not see any land where it disappeared. Is there a land mass there that I'm not aware of? or perhaps there is one of those warships that carries fighter jets that it landed on?

  • @SkunkJames

Easter Island is out there. A flight originates from the same spot a couple of seconds later.

  • It's a shame this simulation is done on such a terrible map projection. Kinda ruins the effect. =(

    Still cool though.

  • @ridgers6789 It's hard for people to understand sarcasm when it's in message form.

  • Rogue dot in the Indian ocean at 1:05... what could it be?

  • @lifeofthe6 The one coming out of Madagascar?

  • bees on the world

  • I looks like Newfoundland is having a pissing match with Europe.

  • There is white dots at the top of the screen that speed up and slow down, i think they are ufo's.

  • Anybody else know some other cool yet useless informative vids like this?

  • I'm noticing as it gets light and in the early day, the volume increases in an area, and as it's turning into night and one night hits, they leave the area.

  • got here from cracked.com

  • fuck you Siberia

  • I love how NO ONE is going to Africa.

  • sperm

  • This is how pandemic flues spread.

  • Why some "planes" in the north are so fast? You can see very fast moves of some...crazy?

  • @LinksjugendSaaleOrla Because they are flying so far north. This map may show the world as a rectangle but (as I hope you know) it's a sphere. When you get that far north, you can travel "around" the world (in respect to longitude) in a much shorter distance. They seem to be going so fast because they are travelling a much shorter distance but the warped map makes it look like they are going much further in the same amount of time.

  • @LinksjugendSaaleOrla It's because the world is a sphere (3D) while the map is a plane (2D). The planes aren't moving faster, it's that the same distance on the earth is being represented as a greater distance on the picture

  • I guess nobody likes Africa uh?

  • I love how they all go away from europe when its dark xD

  • Why are there so many flights in Indonesia?

  • I must wonder what those fast moving planes that took of at the north and south pole are?

  • @TheVte

Probably private jets for corporate bigwigs or supply planes to science expeditions. Also, notice that Russia has one tiny strip of land that's lit up, but practically nothing anywhere else. Basically they have their Washingtons and New Yorks in the far west, but everything else is Nebraska.

    PS.

    CRACKED.

  • I feel super stupid but for a second I totally thought it was just some guys shadow on it and not showing night time. Haha go me.

  • kinda makes u think bout the air traffic controllers having to keep track of tht many flights at some of the worlds busiest airports tht must be a stressful job

  • Mexico appears to be the latin american country with more flights

  • Looks like ants...

    oh yeah, and CRACKED. :)

  • i like the part where evey plane si going for europe and back to america ....

  • I published this video on the Dutch website WELSTIJL (8 february) kind regards Sem Mallée

  • tight

  • CRACKED

  • awesome

  • at 1:11 look at the top right and some airplane must be flying 2 or 3 times as fast as everyone else. then it slows down

  • Not sure if that's because of the smaller circumference up there, all the other planes in the area are slow there too

  • Yeah, it's the smaller circumference.

  • The map is a mercator projection, which stretches the top and bottom of the sphere to appear flat. Thus, a plane traveling at the same speed as one near the equator would look as if it was going very fast.

  • also, remember how the world is shaped.. lol its like a wall, if u make that ball flat, then the top is really a shorter distance

  • lol at africa

  • Wheeeee! Aeroplane rides. I loves them!

  • Holy crap! It's bloody amazing they don't all run into each other!

  • it's because each plane is in reality 1 millionth the size of one of those dots

  • CRACKED!!!

  • Yes sir!

  • It would be awesome to be on one of those flights up by the north pole.

  • cracked

  • ZERG RUSH kekeke

  • cracked

  • CRACKED.

  • Wow!

  • Cracked!

  • the Uk is getting air raped, and everything else is sea monsters

  • Santos Dumont never imagined his invention would come to this

  • Yellow Dots = Amount of Nuclear Weapons.

  • USA, Europe, and East Asia.

the rest of the world be dragons.

  • This is fascinating.

Wright brothers learned to fly one hundred years ago. And now look at this...

  • So let me get this straight... Every morning, the world invades Europe, then gets sick of it and leaves by the time night rolls around?

  • You've never gone from LA to London to catch lunch with a friend then made it home by nightfall?

  • pretty much... its boring here at night.

  • @Socran LMAO

  • @Socran Europe is the center of the world

  • @Socran yup and go visit good old america

  • @Socran look at their afternoons though! fark they're invading everyone!

  • @Socran Looks like it. The whole thing is facinating for sure 8-)

  • @Socran Obviously it's different ppl going back to North American than in the morning flights.

  • @Socran Not really. It's just that long distance flights are designed to arrive at their destination in the morning, if possible, and leave during the evening. This is so people can sleep during the long flight. Local flights are also more scarce at night since people don't want to fly small distances during the night.

  • 90% of the Canadians live within 2~3 hours of drive away from the US border, so you can't really see the Canadian traffic from that map. It's submerged with the US one.

  • what are those fast moving dots up top??

  • They're planes too, just that this is a flat map while the world is round, so the planes at the far north and south seem to move a lot quicker.

  • That's airplanes, appearing to move faster due to the map projection. The poles appear to be larger than they actually are (stretched). So it's just air traffic crossing the polar areas - and in reality they're not moving faster.

  • They only appear to be moving fast. The world is a globe - so the top of the map is actually stretched horizontally compared to the middle, making it seem like they are traveling much faster than they really are.

  • LOL wow guys relax... everyone's a genius all of a sudden.... i was just wondering why those flights were going so far up as compared to regular cross Atlantic flights... maybe i should phrase my question better next time... OH and yes UFOs OBVIOUSLY

  • i think that because flight paths are always the shortest distance between two points, certain flights (originating and ending up north) fly over the arctic.

  • New version of Flight Control?

  • Note the fact that planes are actually flying to Madagascar.

This is a lie, as Madagascar does not have an airport, and anytime there is a disease, somewhere, somehow, they close their borders. Which means that there should be no traffic to the island.

    Therefore, I conclude, botockz

  • Best comment ever.

  • LOL

  • What really gets me is that they somehow, instinctively, KNOW that there is a raging disease out there even when it has no symptoms whatsoever.

  • @zandraplantyhose Oh man, I reallllly reallllllllllly hope that was a reference to what I think it is!

  • @IAMTHECAPSGODLOL YOU ARE UTTER GENIUS! Seriously, I hope people understand this joke.

  • @TigranTheMetz ....I think I saw what he did there.

  • the day/night pattern is incredible.

also, notice how planes cover more of the cartography in the poles v. the equater.

  • And people say we don't need caps on carbon emissions from air travel..

  • So cool! But why are Russia and Canada fully covered with snow?

  • maybe because the video was made in the winter in those places

  • some planes such as 767 sometimes cant make a straight jump from LAX to japan os asaia, so they land in hawaii.. dont be stupid this looks very realistic to me

  • it's called layovers.... anyone in America who wants to go to Asia or Australia needs to go through Hawaii first, and vice versa

  • а почему Россия в снегу? Это очередной стереотип или трафик зимой?

  • для них наша страна зовется Сибирью =)

  • yep, you probably know better then NASA :D

  • По-моему, в ЮАР летают чаще, чем в Россию. :)

  • про нас чушь полная...

  • виртуализация мирового суточного авиатрафика

  • это перемещение китайцев за сутки?

  • wow

  • Great

  • Really cool! Thanks for it!

  • wow! THAT is great
