I play bass and while it may not be fancy, clutch's riffs are by all intents and purposes, awesome to play. JP Gaster doesn't need a double bass pedal on his drumit, which is something I don't like playing alongside. Most drummers just use double bass pedals to show off how fast they can play, they don't just throw them into rhythms at will like Keith Moon.

Clutch is a band with a Rhythm Guitarist and Lead Bassist like The Who.

"rudimental" too if you wanna put it that way. not that every drummer that even knows halfway what he's doing shouldnt be considered rudimental. if you're looking for drummers to "blow your mind" they've been around for decades. in my opinion, jazz drummers have the most skill. check out Gene Krupa
