@RackemZacemRobot Did you get your router with 3Gstore? If so, shoot us an email at support for help on getting the firmware updated. If not, you can try getting in touch with Cradlepoint directly for assistance on getting the firmware updated.
@BLUENIGHTMARES2288 Depends on the carrier, only officially tested on Telus. Just so you know the MBR1000 is an obsolete model and has been replaced by the MBR95.
@131holly The MBR100 is compatible with the EC228, what carrier do you have? You may want to look at the MBR95 as the MBR1000 is pretty much an obsolete router now and the MBR95 replaces it.
@3Gstore i have verizon wireless i am going to get the mbr1000 so get a good one and if it do not work i am just going to look into something else. and how do u set it up do u just plug the usb into the roter and it connect to it?
@131holly I'd advise looking at the MBR95 over the MBR1000 as it's a new NetBSD based router. The modem just needs to be plugged into the router for it to work.
i live in the suberbs and im looking for better connection for my xbox LIVE, can these Craddle points help me because im not sure if this will help... my connection is pretty shitty so im trying to find somthing better, and i live in a verizon 3G zone... idk if that matters. plz resond!!!!
They can have the potential to help you out. We have a full video up on youtube under title "Cod Black Op's - Playing over 3G/4G wireless connections" that may clear things up for you. You can also email us at sales[a]3gstore.com and we can go over the problem and figure out a solution for you.
what load balancing do exactly? do you mean that if i plugged three 3G usb modems, the router will sum all of the 3 speeds and give me more download rate?
Lets say if i'm in a certain area where i get 5Mbit/s from 1 usb modem, if i plugged the all three i will get 15Mbit/s with this router?
This device is useless, all cards bought from providers are alot slower than the slowest dsl connection, so why would you want to spilt a shitty connection to several devices?????? I understand it acts a N router but its not near the quality of Linksys or Belkin etc.
4G is capable of 4mbps average, with peak bursts of 10mbps (for Sprint, at least). 4G is actually capable of 40mbps, but we likely won't see that for some time.
The slowest ADSL offered by ISPs is typically 128kbps, which my Verizon service with a 3G ExpressCard easily trumps at an average of 1.2mbps.
That being said, this router is meant for SOHO users, that can't afford downtime and are comfortable sacrificing speed for uptime.
My Verizon 760 downloads at about 2.1mips and uploads at about 750k. DSL ran about half that speed. It's not Fios but 20 miles passed the last S3 switch for DSL and up a mountain and I can day trade equities markets while my wife manages her website, with no lag.
I am looking to buy one because a 3g modem through Sprint is only source of internet connection available at my shop, and I recently purchased a quad cam security system, the system needs to be connected to the internet via it's own cable, for remote viewing, this product allows this function. also 4G is already ten miles from where I'm at. it's not gonna take long till it's here...and u could safely connect two computers at that high speed.
@piffpete420 it is a long way from useless for people like myself who live out of the city limits and have no other way to access high speed internet. I have no cable, fiber or dsl in my area, but i do have a sprint wireless tower 2 miles from my house. This is the best option for folks who can receive a cellular signal and do not have access to cable, dsl or fiber. Much better than satellite internet!!
man i got that and will not let me update the firmware on it wat do i do?????????
