  • why can't you run it true an effects loop? does that mean i can't put a delay and phaser after it? don't quite understand...

  • Also, though it's not totally "metal"....you CAN get some shreddy tone when the gain is cranked all the way. I use it that way for EMULATOR. If you search "EMULATOR goodfoot" you can hear me using it live. It won't let me post the link here.

  • Dammit! why are all these pedal demo's always clean bluesy rock type stuff ?! Hello! ,there's Metal players on the 'net too you know .. !

  • @mikeymike5p9 This is a med gain overdrive, we play what is generally heard from these pedals. With Distortion we try and up the heaviness but we will never satisfy everyone :) Thanks for watching,

    PGS

  • Is there a difference between this and the tweed?

  • is it can be a hi gain od pedal or just simple od pedal?

  • I have one of these. After a few months the led for the boost stopped working. I contacted HBE and they were like "yeah, thats happens sometimes"

Love the pedal, wish I could ad more bass though.

  • I love this pedal ,,, sounds great

  • No wonder Van Halen sued them, It's got nothing to do with the Brown sound so painting it with a bumble scheme, is just a cheap way to capitolize on Eddies sound

  • I have been using one of these for years. Best OD I have ever used

  • I have been using one of these for a few years now. I love the tone and even use it as sort of pre amp when plugging into a sound card for people who only understand the world of logic and cubase.

Contrary to the video, you do lose some of the low end, even on the second setting.

Also, not that long after I bought the pedal the yellow LED for the boost stopped working. I contacted HBE and they were like "Yeah, that happens sometimes"

  • that third mode is nuts!

  • Great pedal. Lots more bass respone than a Fulldrive. I am keeping this one and getting rid of the Fulltone.

  • welfare mothers make better lovers

  • Acquiesce! :)

  • Andy voice: "Later, I'll be taking my 65 Amps Soho out for an expensive dinner and moonlit walk on the beach. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky."

  • KInda reminds me of a Joe Perry sound

  • Do I even need a dirty pedal with very high output pedals?

  • What is that tune...sounds just like oasis Aquiesce, or is it originally from somone else....its around 2.02

  • if I want to use the overdrive to shape my main tone and the boost to give solo's a punch, then which pedal would be the best? this one or the HBE paradrive? I'm searching for a great metaltone

  • this isnt really a metal pedal.

  • Wow, I never thought I would hear "Welfare Mothers" on a pedal demo!! :) Cool . . .

  • I just got back from trying one of these with my Strat and I love it

  • Nice sounding overdrive ! In the taste of the Visual Sound Route 66 I think. There is a bass boost and the emulation of the amp sag is better with the compressor the Route 66 features.

  • Comment removed

  • you can get one with a fat boost.

  • Lovin' that fatass sound

  • texas flood at the beginning?

  • Incredible pedal, but I'm selling one right now and can't seem to get a buyer in these parts of Europe... :( Sometimes people just don't appreciate incredible workmanship and pure smooth tone.

  • Is this pedal better that a HBE Big D Distortion pedal

  • They're quite different. This is a Tubescreamer with some amazing modifications - it provides a very nice crunch tone for great Hendrix/SRV rhythm work and when driven hard, a smooth overdrive for lead work/ it edges into a nice fuzzy sound at max. settings, for a trippy Hendrix over the top sound. The Big D is a straightforward distortion and has much more gain, tighter and defined, but not as appropriate for blues/crunch rhythm; it's great for powerchords and rock lead.

  • very well said

  • does it mean, this pedal sounds better in tube amps? how about on transistors and solid states? and what do you mean by (Never run the HBE Power Screamer thru an effects loop.)

  • Every overdrive pedal sounds much better with a tube amp, not just because the tube amp is supposed to sound better itself, but it makes a happy couple. For instance, it's harder to find a good distortion with a tube amp than with solid state / transistors. With that kind of amp, a good overdrive can give you a sort of tube feeling, that's still good, don't worry.

  • thanks man, i just wondered how it sounds in SS amps...i thought it sucks,....

    but just another killer one....

    cheers...

  • all pedals sound better with a tube amp!!!

  • a-fucking-men

  • Only if you absolutely, positively have to have them!!!

  • to EmoSucks34 - Don't you worry pal the pedal have nice boost. I have one Power Screamer since 1 mount and I'm very happy with it. I order it with +fat boost which is grate, but you can't use it in the 3th diode select mode, there is to much compression. I can't stop playing this pedal it sounds so natural and believe me it screames very seriously. So Profy man. I play it with Gibson LP studio.

  • Are you guys planning on demoing HBE FMJ anytime soon? I'm really anxious to hear what it's all about.

  • i hate how you cant really hear the boost in the video

i wish youtube had better sound quality

  • Go to our website. We host all of our videos with High Def audio.

  • @EmoSucks34

The boost is a true 10db, I can tell the difference here but it is very evident when you hear it live. The boost isn't a prominent by itself on a clean signal.

  • This is the pedal that restored my faith in Home Brew Electronics. I really the diode option, perfect warm & growl overdrive. I can dig it.

  • is this the granny smith candy apple finish? do they all have the sparkle to them? thanks for all the demos.

  • HBE makes great pedals.

I would love to see some Jetter Gain Stage and Menatone demos if possible.

  • Loved the Texas Flood intro! Great sounding pedal.

  • i like the new intro. the old tune was getting on my nerves!

  • the pedal thing is great but would love to see some amps thrown in.

  • Wow very very, very nice. On the neck pick or the bridge?

  • nice new intro thingy :)

  • WOW that lead lick almost had that spanky SRV tone NAILED! WHOA!!!! Great sounding pedal!

    Nice playing, man!

I'm liking the new way you're doing your demos, btw!
