I *LOVE* how Josh, not having heard Toby's speech, delivers nearly the same one! I love how he believes it too, how he is on Toby's wavelength, and how the two of them (Toby and Josh) come together to tell Sam to, "Go! Go! Go!"
Toby was not big on, as he put it during the Mendoza confirmation, tempting fate.
Toby was not moody. "Moody" suggests that he was in a good mood sometimes. The only times he was in a good mood were when the Yankees or Knicks (or Democrats) won, or he got a good steak, or C.J. "did the Jackal."
I have watched all seven episodes about 5 times through and even though there will not be a show quite as good as this, I reckon the best writing was int he first 3/4 seasons. Once the original writers left, the writing/dialogue slumped from outstanding to very good. This inbuilt humour was just so funny. There were pockets of it in the later seasons, but not the belly-aching funny stuff in the early seasons. The funniest for me is Bartlet on painkillers in season 1. Check it out.
@thepezdispenser if you watch the entire episode, josh gets bamboozled by a group of actors pretending to be confused on how to vote and wind him up, courtesy of Toby and CJ
This is the best show ever they. They really should bring it back. The West Wing The Next Generation!!! Comander in Chief tried its best to replace The West Wing and failed
Haha. Because of this episode, when my dad said Obama was going to win on election day, my sister and I yelled at him until he went outside, turned around three times and spat.

I like this ! Brilliant ! ( i used to compete in agility comps with my dog - and when I got up in the morning I had to step off with my right foot! Superstition but if I didn't then we wouldn't do well?? Completely illogical and totally insane but I still had to step off on the right foot! So this scene is soo true !!
MacBeth. If you say the name MacBeth in a theatre you need to go outside turn 3 times and then spit. If you don't, you're cursed by the guy who died during a showing of MacBeth, the thing on the rapier fell off when he was fighting and he actually got stabbed.
CJ is continuing a joke that had been played on Josh earlier in the morning, where various strangers pretended to recognize him and ask him stupid questions about voting.
I'm sorry but while this is not in my top 10 West Wing scenes, it's deffinately in the top 25. #1 has to go to the Two Cathedrals Bartlet insulting God scene. But yes we must all fear the wrath of the whatever from high atop the thing.
How on earth is this clip pertinent to a discussion of how divisive the US is? The fact that you wrote that here undermines the point you are trying to make.

Is it just me or is Allison Janney an extremely attractive older woman. If I were twenty years older
bluesboy25000 5 months ago 2
@bluesboy25000 She is very sexy but you're wrong about calling her an older women.
She was born in 1959.which would mean she was 40 when this show went on the air and 46 when it went off the air.
That's whern women are at their best.

when he spat, spun and swore the Secret Service guys and perhaps the Marine on guard thought he was having a seizure most likely.

A couple seconds more, and you'd hear Josh say "These things have a half-life. You just can't wait around."

Is this a parody of the show or is it from the actual show? the line "oh mr Lyman..." sounds like something from Kung Pow

"Yes. I turned, I cursed, I spat. It froze."
