Hmm, I kinda like her voice. It's a nice break from the usual Japanese pop stars who sing so high only dogs can hear them. If she were legal, I'd even go as far as to call it attractive.
@Kazesai In hindsight, no. It'd be pretty creepy having those gigantic eyes staring at me every time I wake up. Google "animegao" if you don't believe me.
@Hoshimaru57 Yeah, he wasn't implying anything about you. I mean, let's be honest: the fact that we're all here to begin with is bad enough. You being all defensive about it only digs you into a deeper hole. LOL.
lol at the huge argument. apparently it's scientifically proven that if you look a certain way you can't have a certain type of voice. lolk? (i have a friend who's big and almost 20 years old, but his voice is high pitched.) But whatevs. I love the song, go Matoko. :D

I hate her voice. It just doesn't fit her character at all. Voice is far too deep and sounds like an old woman yelling her lyrics...compared to the young character visual it just makes too stark of a contrast. No girl of that size/age has a voice that deep so it just comes off as bad presentation to me.
Wait-- scratch that. Have you ever met or even heard someone Japanese?
They either have quite low voices or high ones, and the only one I can think of that has a middle-ish is Sawashiro-san.
You seem to be making things up in order to justify your reasoning, when in fact, you're using incorrect assumptions with no basis in fact or reality. It's fine if you don't like her voice, but don't try to make it seem like you have valid reasons when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
Yes, I have heard contraltos before, and I have spoken with Japanese people.
Japanese people have a wide array of voice pitches, just like everyone else.
I am making basic observations. It's unrealistic for someone that petite and young to have that deep of a voice, but you're entitled to your own opinion.
But feel free to link me to a video of a 16 year old girl who has a voice that deep and is that petite.
LOL. You *really* need to lurk more. ): I can be a weeaboo if you want to be right, though. How nice of a person am I.
Plus, she's not *really* that petite, you know. She's only around 5'2, and I know plenty of people smaller than that with just as deep voices. It's not that rare you know.
I googled your username and it's from an anime. You have an anime avatar. You claim I "must not know any japanese people".
You said "Sawashiro-san" as if saying san in English is necessary. In fact glancing at your videos you randomly use basic Japanese words for no reason(Onee instead of sister...why bother?). You make AMVs. Your uploads are entirely anime related. Most of your subscriptions are related to anime. You are the very definition of a weeaboo nerd, seriously.
Petite implies shortness and litheness. How skinny someone is can affect their vocals. A skinny vocalist is less likely to have a low voice. Although it's not "fat" that matters as much as their frame.
How am I butthurt? I just think you're wrong. If anything weren't your comments a lot more "sassy" and snappy?
My only point is that when I watch Makoto, it's abundantly obvious that some older woman is singing her track. It just doesn't match. Cry all you want about it, but it's true.
At 16, your voice or person isn't going to be doing any more changing. You're pretty much almost over puberty and your body has almost finished maturing with a little more to go. 16 is the point at which you're pretty much going to be like for the rest of your life.
A lot of the idols sound like they're being sung by someone who's 5 years old, but I don't waahhhh about that, because I like the voice. ):
I'm not going to debate semantics with you and get off track. I will keep it simple:
Her voice track does not match the character. It'd be like giving Tifa from FF7 the voice of Solid Snake. It's just a bad fit. Normally the voiceovers match the character much better, but the contrast is too sharp here.
No, it's completely different. Makoto is supposed to be so boyish she is MISTAKEN for a boy, and it wouldn't work with her reverse trap and pretty boy idol image if she had a voice as high as Miki's.
But it's unrealistic. That's all I'm saying. It does not match or make sense. The voice does not match the character. You can disagree all you want, but that's how I see it.
It doesn't fit. I don't care about her personality, it does not fit the actual character. Again, like Tifa having Solid Snake's voice. IMO...does not fit. You can disagree, I don't care, it's just my opinion.
Then you're mistaking my use of character. I mean as in the character model, not her personality. I meant as in her actual "character" as in her appearance and stature.

She has hardly any curves, she's pretty much flatchested, she has a boyish stature, she has boyish hips, she has a boy haircut, and she's so boyish a person ingame mistook her for a drag queen when she wore womens clothes.
How does THAT say she is anything but a manly butch lesbian?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
People with that height, weight, and frame at that age do not have a voice so deep. I am not arguing whether she is a butch lesbian or not.
If I made a character that looked like Mickey Mouse, but had a gruff and tough voice and was supposed to be a badass pirate, would you say "OH IT MAKES SENSE CAUSE HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE TOUGH!"? No. Because it is a contrast and does not fit.
And I'm done arguing this. This is seriously an enormous waste of time.
Why are you responding to a going on 3 month old argument? Are you going to call pyrekins in again to flame me and get all pissy and go "LOLZ INTERNET, U MAD"?
Second, no...she does not have the same build. A quick search shows she's--surprise--an older woman. Either 27 or 29 at the time she did the voice work for Makoto. 11 years will do wonders to someone's voice. Still waiting for you to link me to a 16 year old girl of that stature who sounds anything like that.
Second...no, we're talking build AND age because that's the argument I brought up. Unless you concede that age does matter and her voice is unrealistic for that age.
Third, they are not the same build anyways so it's a moot argument.
Fourth, you said her voice was "deeper" than it was in this game, and the only video I can find of her is actually slightly higher in pitch.
And lastly, I'm not going to get into a big discussion again. I already made these points.
The last thing I will say(and you can be as insulting or try to "rile me up" as much as you want) is that if this is so realistic, why have you STILL not linked me to one single video of a 16 year old girl of that stature with a voice like that?
You do that, you win. As long as it actually IS as deep and it's a petite girl like in the video, then that's proof and I'll concede that I'm wrong. Simple as that. I have nothing left to say on the matter.
Because I don't stalk people with deep voices, obviously. I'm not going to SEARCH THE ENTIRE WEB for something so ridiculous just because you're too butthurt to admit you're wrong.
If I'm saying something in Japanese, I'll use Japanese conotations. I won't say Ms. Sawashiro, since I don't know whether she's married or not or not wanting to say, so I'll use the basic "san". "Onee" is an inside joke between me and my friend.
Sorry, I'll keep that in mind next time I'm appreciating another culture.
Jeez, I must be a serious Sweedophile and Romanophile and a Greekophile to love their culture so much, huh!
Man, to think all my 22 video game uploads are so unnoticable...
But you aren't saying anything in Japanese. You're speaking English. Using Japanese honorifics is 100% pointless for English speakers and just makes you look like a Japanophile dork. Saying Sawashiro is sufficient for English speakers. It's not about appreciating culture, it's about unnecessary usage. Do you use Swedish honorics when referring to people from Sweden/Greece/Romania? No. You don't. Because it's pointless.
I tried to read your post, but all I got from it was,
"baww baww. anyone who likes anime is auomatically a weeaboo!!! i know this because i don't want to admit i am wrong, so i will call someone something false in order to make myself feel better!!!!"
Just like how anyone who likes American shows is obviously an Ameriphile.
L-Lol. Oh, you poor thing. It's okay, I understand that you couldn't think of anything better to post. I guess ... everyone has those days, sometimes. ):
But, Sportsmanshipfactory! If she is a weeaboo, then you are an unattractive fat nerd who doesn't get out of the house for having gaming shit in your favourites!
This means you don't TALK to girls, so how would you know how they sound? ):
I have one gaming favorite in my profile from Chrono Trigger...a game I played when I was like 9.
He has an entire profile full of anime and anime related things, says words in Japanese to "respect the culture", and a multitude of other weeaboo traits. But yeah, I'm totally wrong.
BTW Pyrekins, kinda weird how you make the EXACT same smilies as Seiryu. If you're not actually Seiryu then you're a close friend if I don't miss my guess. But feel free to get mad.
Sure thing, Sportsmanshipfactory. My, doesn't that sound like nothing but a desperate excuse. (:
You are strangely defensive for a person so sure of being right.
... Uh. Sweetheart, it's a SAD FACE. I think the entire Internet population has used an emoticon as simple as that before in their lives.
Don't worry, though. I know you're just grasping for staws in a debate you are incapable of winning. It makes you look a bit pathetic, but anything to win that SRS INTERNET ARGUMENT, right? :)
Erh, who's the one overreacting exactly and getting all pissy and catty? Yeah, it's an internet argument, and guess who's a part of it? Hurrr....
:( is much more common than ):. There's also the fact that you two just happen to be replying within minutes of each other on a video that receives like 1 comment a week. You'll forgive my suspicions. If you're two separate people, I assume you're his friend and he was like "THIS GUY IS JERK, DO SOMETHING."
I only use "):" because I despise the creepy-ass smileys on MSN and it has become a habit. Really, is that so difficult to comprehend?
Ah, but the fact remains that you are the one resorting to immature name-calling and ad hominem bullshit to make your arguments look better.
Please refrain from making youself look more 'Internet badass' than you actually are. You can't even insult people right, so you're never going to succeed.
I think you're overreacting quite badly. I said Seiryu was a weeaboo. It wasn't really an insult, but they are an anime geek obsessed with Japanese culture are they not? I never said anything was wrong with that, but he exhibits all of the behavior of a weeaboo.
And yes, I'm sure you're both not friends and you just so happened to stumble upon this video during this "discussion" so that you could fling insults at me and get pissy.
Quite apparently, the only one acting "pissy" here is you. You are the one bitching about an anime character's voice. You are the one flinging insults around everywhere for no reason. And yes, 'weeaboo' is an insult. One you don't even know the true meaning of, which makes things pretty amusing.
I'm just here to type up some offhand condescending remarks to the retards who deserve them. Do get it right.
You mean how "san" is totally lots of words. If I'm saying a Japanese name, I will use Japanese honorifics. If I am saying an English name, I will use English honorifics. If I am saying a Chinese name, I will use Chinese honorifics. If I am saying a Swedish name, I will use Swedish honorifics.
This is poor form in speaking English. Unless English has no equivalent and you MUST use a foreign word, it is considered poor form to use foreign honorifics, and it makes you look like a Japanophile.
It's similar to say, me using medical terms when it's clearly unnecessary. I don't go around referring to my skin as epidermis because it's obnoxious.
Every single bit of Makoto was designed to make her look like a man. THAT is her character. From her resume to her fan letters to her appearance to her personality to her likes and to her dislikes.

She is not! If you actually did RESEARCH, you'd find out that she is a tomboy (due to her father wanting a boy), but she wants to be more feminine. The tsundere character in the game is Iori, who is rich and spoiled. >>
Well she's not really conceited, spikey or combative.
She's sporty, but she's actually pretty sensitive and her feelings are hurt fairly easily. She's pretty much straight-forward and sincere with herself.

BTW Pyrekins, kinda weird how you make the EXACT same smilies as Seiryu. If you're not actually Seiryu then you're a close friend if I don't miss my guess. But feel free to get mad.
Sportsmanshipfactory 2 years ago
Jeez, I never knew only two people used "):".
SeiryuSuboshisan 2 years ago
Sure thing, Sportsmanshipfactory. My, doesn't that sound like nothing but a desperate excuse. (:
You are strangely defensive for a person so sure of being right.
... Uh. Sweetheart, it's a SAD FACE. I think the entire Internet population has used an emoticon as simple as that before in their lives.
Don't worry, though. I know you're just grasping for staws in a debate you are incapable of winning. It makes you look a bit pathetic, but anything to win that SRS INTERNET ARGUMENT, right? :)
Pyrekins 2 years ago
Erh, who's the one overreacting exactly and getting all pissy and catty? Yeah, it's an internet argument, and guess who's a part of it? Hurrr....
:( is much more common than ):. There's also the fact that you two just happen to be replying within minutes of each other on a video that receives like 1 comment a week. You'll forgive my suspicions. If you're two separate people, I assume you're his friend and he was like "THIS GUY IS JERK, DO SOMETHING."
Sportsmanshipfactory 2 years ago
The internet is srs bzns, man. Srs bzns.
SeiryuSuboshisan 2 years ago
I only use "):" because I despise the creepy-ass smileys on MSN and it has become a habit. Really, is that so difficult to comprehend?
Ah, but the fact remains that you are the one resorting to immature name-calling and ad hominem bullshit to make your arguments look better.
Please refrain from making youself look more 'Internet badass' than you actually are. You can't even insult people right, so you're never going to succeed.
Pyrekins 2 years ago
I think you're overreacting quite badly. I said Seiryu was a weeaboo. It wasn't really an insult, but they are an anime geek obsessed with Japanese culture are they not? I never said anything was wrong with that, but he exhibits all of the behavior of a weeaboo.
And yes, I'm sure you're both not friends and you just so happened to stumble upon this video during this "discussion" so that you could fling insults at me and get pissy.
Sportsmanshipfactory 2 years ago
The fact you're trying to seem internet-wise and failing I think proves all your "insults" wrong, haha. :'>
SeiryuSuboshisan 2 years ago
Have you ever met a weeaboo?
SeiryuSuboshisan 2 years ago
Quite apparently, the only one acting "pissy" here is you. You are the one bitching about an anime character's voice. You are the one flinging insults around everywhere for no reason. And yes, 'weeaboo' is an insult. One you don't even know the true meaning of, which makes things pretty amusing.
I'm just here to type up some offhand condescending remarks to the retards who deserve them. Do get it right.
Pyrekins 2 years ago
You mean how "san" is totally lots of words. If I'm saying a Japanese name, I will use Japanese honorifics. If I am saying an English name, I will use English honorifics. If I am saying a Chinese name, I will use Chinese honorifics. If I am saying a Swedish name, I will use Swedish honorifics.
SeiryuSuboshisan 2 years ago
This is poor form in speaking English. Unless English has no equivalent and you MUST use a foreign word, it is considered poor form to use foreign honorifics, and it makes you look like a Japanophile.
It's similar to say, me using medical terms when it's clearly unnecessary. I don't go around referring to my skin as epidermis because it's obnoxious.
Sportsmanshipfactory 2 years ago
Every single bit of Makoto was designed to make her look like a man. THAT is her character. From her resume to her fan letters to her appearance to her personality to her likes and to her dislikes.

LEAVE CHRIS BROWN ALONE!
Rihanna had a gun and shot him in the leg and he pushed her to defend himself. Then she got out the car and called the police and inflicted her own scratches!
This is the real story the police said so!

Wikipedia it ! :D
She actually is ....
HinaNaru1234 3 years ago
She is not! If you actually did RESEARCH, you'd find out that she is a tomboy (due to her father wanting a boy), but she wants to be more feminine. The tsundere character in the game is Iori, who is rich and spoiled. >>
NejisTrueLove 3 years ago 3
Oh yeah . Sorry , I forgot the meaning of tsundere , and I didn't think it over when I posted my comment .
HinaNaru1234 3 years ago
what's tsundere?
xcuppiixcakex 3 years ago 2
"Tsundere" is a character archetype used to discribe a conceited, spikey, combative personality that later on turns to being modest and loving.
It comes from combining the words "tsuntsun" (aloof, morose, pointed) and "deredere" (exhausted, lovestruck).
The opposite of this would be "Yandere", a character that turns from a loving personality to deranged or psychotic
Arne83301 3 years ago 6
Well she's not really conceited, spikey or combative.
She's sporty, but she's actually pretty sensitive and her feelings are hurt fairly easily. She's pretty much straight-forward and sincere with herself.
IORI would be the Tsundere.

Em.... how do you exactly play this game? Is it like parappa or DDR? or how O_O
SouchiroAmaku 3 years ago
it's more like DDR, you wait till the colored circles come close to the input box and you tap the button on the controller with the same color.
