these are only the things of recent history. Ireland suffered GENOCIDE at the hands of the British Government during the famine, there was plenty of food in the Country at that time, but that went across the water and not to a people considered surplus to requirement. Initial faulty intelligence yes, but he had ample opportunity to stop and say, "What's the fuss about?" The police had no option but to stop him, what if he had have had a bomb? @ditdatdot good,I am glad to hear that,I was referring to the behaviour of British troops in Ireland 20 or more years ago and I know the vast majority of soldiers who served in Ireland were probably decent young men who didnt want to be there but there were quite a sizeable minority who seemed to enjoy causing murder and mayhem, two regiments come to mind in my experience,the Black Watch and the Paras,anyway best of luck to you wherever you are.

@ditdatdot It's compulsory to speak Irish in our schools from a young age, most Irish people would have a fair grasp of the language but it's only spoken on a daily basis in certain parts of the country

the IRA were right with its military campaign, stand bak and watch the brits take brothers sisters fathers and jail them and torture them, u never hear that on the news, its all propaganda, bombs that went of on BLOODY FRIDAY were given warnings, RUC and BRIT ARMY didnt release them warnings, now why was that? because they wanted bad propaganda for the IRA!!! and they were found out, they could have saved lives!!!

The British army rounded them up like many other countires would have done, now it turned out to be the wrog thing to do but no country had ever dealt with terrorism inside their nation before. As a result they found guns, bullets and arrested IRA members, turned out more joined from that but u cant say the IRA was right to do what they did, the IRA are child killers their scum, murders, and their actions was un called for!

these are only the things of recent history. Ireland suffered GENOCIDE at the hands of the British Government during the famine, there was plenty of food in the Country at that time, but that went across the water and not to a people considered surplus to requirement. The IRA will never achieve that. But I think British people need to learn a bit more about their history and Irish need to forget a bit more (if you know what I mean) to move forward. OK, my two cents: I'm Irish to the bone, Dublin man, Parents from the countryside. Ireland is Ireland and we all know what that is. Now, we all got to live together on this Island no matter what happens and that's a fact. United Ireland means big unionist say in the Dáil, fact but we'd have to go with it. I don't know as much as you guys but romantic Ireland is dead and gone for me. I look forward to us all pulling together through dialogue. No point in talking about all the paramilitaries
