it seems to me that the camps were used by all sides and tried to turn them into propaganda museums after the war. the only reason why i think so many people died in the german camps was cause the allies bombed germany into a pulp and they couldnt keep the camps running effectively. of course there were instances of cruelty and murder, but i think the story is way hyped up for propaganda against a common enemy.

I've just started reading "Telling Lies About Hitler: the Holocaust, History and the David Irving Trial". It's an excellent book. Richard J Evans shows how Irving has doctored the evidence in his attempts to show Hitler knew nothing of the mass murder of the Jews. Evans complete takes Irving a part. He shows how Irving mistranslates as well as leaves out the parts of Goebbels' dairies that don't fit the lies Irving is promoting. Irving is made to looks a complete idiot.

it seems to me that the camps were used by all sides and tried to turn them into propaganda museums after the war. the only reason why i think so many people died in the german camps was cause the allies bombed germany into a pulp and they couldnt keep the camps running effectively. of course there were instances of cruelty and murder, but i think the story is way hyped up for propaganda against a common enemy.

One of the puzzling things about David Irving is that he says historians shouldn't rely on eyewitness accounts when researching the Holocaust because the trauma makes their accounts unreliable. Yet Irving relied heavily on eyewitness accounts for his "Dresden" book and didn't see any problem with relying on the accounts of Hitler's entourage for "Hitler's War"! This is typical double-standards. Deniers rejects documents, yet use documents to promote their idiotic theories.

Last I checked, he's stated that 4M Jews were murdered by the nazis and that gas chambers were used in Treblinka, Sobibor and Belzac. He's wrong about Auschwitz of course and the overall death toll but for a denier-trash to pin their hopes on irving is to aknowledge gas chambers and an organized attempt at genocide.

Apparently the neo-nazi thinks that because he uses multiple screen names that the rest of the world has to operate in the same way. He further states I was never able to prove gassings to place. He was provided with primary source citations, most of which were written by nazis, providing solid evidence of gassings. He has yet to refute a single primary source document that he was provided. @mousegeek Of all the thousands of documents ceased at the end of the war not one mentions a gasing (did i just hurt ur feelings by using bad grammar again? lol) program, or a death caused by gasing. there are plenty of documents referring to hangings, shootings, and even beatings gone too far during interrogation. a Col Hanz Freiderlit in 1942 was shot because he beat a polish jew that was thought to have information on the polish underground. the nazis were very good record keepers.

They didn't read every message! but they did get information from German codes. It wasn't made public during the war because the Germans would know their messages were being read.

You can't be so thick, Jesus please don't let it be so!, that can't see why the British wouldn't reveal to the Nazis that the British (with the help of the Poles) had broken Enigma. To have published what was know (and it wasn't that much) in the newspapers would have been extremely foolish considering there was nothing the British could do. The British would have lost being able to read the U-boat codes and this would have meant a very serious danger to British convoys.

The British did make the decision to publish stories but in order to keep the breaking of the German codes secret not much was really mentioned.

it seems whenever someone questions the technical problems of this great gassing (please note i wasted a character spelling 'gassing' correctly because our little grammar nazi likes me to) story. 'why focus on all these little details' is what she says when she doesn't want anyone to go that route. she still cant answer the obvious question. why didnt the nazis just shoot all the jews she claims were gased?

Do you actually know anything about the Second World War? It is estimated (using the figures given by the Nazis) that 1.5 million Jews were shot by the Einsatzgruppen (the Wehrmacht took part in the killings). I'll repeat myself, the captured German generals at Trent Park talk about what they saw on the Eastern Front. The generals did not know their conversations were being recorded. They are 10,000 pages of transcript conversations.

There's an excellent documentary series call "Die Wehrmacht" (2007) that goes into great details about what the generals knew about the shooting of Jews. It's mostly German historians.

He can't change history and he can't disprove a single primary source document or citation he's been provided and he doesn't even try. He knows full well the Holocaust occurred and that gassings were a common method of murder, he just doesn't think the slaughter of innocents was bad a thing.

I've just started reading "Telling Lies About Hitler: the Holocaust, History and the David Irving Trial". It's an excellent book. Richard J Evans shows how Irving has doctored the evidence in his attempts to show Hitler knew nothing of the mass murder of the Jews. Evans complete takes Irving a part. He shows how Irving mistranslates as well as leaves out the parts of Goebbels' dairies that don't fit the lies Irving is promoting. Irving is made to looks a complete idiot.

@mousegeek Irving is an interesting character in denier circles. He has at various times claimed the Holocaust death toll was 300,000 and 4M. I don't think he currently denies that Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzac and Chelmno were death camps but it's hard to tell with him.

I'm not familiar with Baynac but if Faurisson and IHR are quoting him he must a quack. Just from reading your quotes I can see errors/lies in what Baynac said. This is obviously a historian who courts controversy. If Baynac is unable to find any evidence then is the worse historian ever. During Rudolf Höss' trial in Warsaw 1946 the zinc ventilator covers from Crematorium 2 were recovered from the rubble and tests showed them to be covered with cyanide.

@mousegeek There is no such thing as "impartiality" amongst historians. Anyone can repeat the various arguments made by previous "historians" using new terminology or focus. But the fact remains that you, and your "historians" keep referring to witnesses that didn't actually see the things they claim. I can point out "witnesses" that recanted, but it doesn't matter. We "deniers" want hard, tangible evidence of a murderous gassing program. You people make it all or nothing when it is not.
