Dis iz Ali G. Show.........Yo.... Check it... I'm here with my main man N.A.S.A....... Snap....! So like when da astrolots have to like.... you know um.... Go... Do dem have to do it in dem own knickers....? Or do dem got like..... some sort of like little vacuum or baggie or somthin?
I met the Commander of this mission, George Zamka, when he went to Bogota with about half of the crew of the previous STS mission he had (STS-120) as part of a tour around LA they were doing then. A charismatic chap, and the rest of the crew was just as likeable. Best of luck to all of those guys up there!
The moon and Mars are not going anywhere. We will have plenty of time to get there. The space program needs to improve on propulsion design anyway if we are to go far in our solar system.
@tampa50man Obama is our Jimmy Carter. These orbiters were well past their expiration date. You shouldn't stress much. 2014/2015 is the year to look forward to. US will have one or two new orbiters by then.
End of an era. It was really great to get away from the dismal Jimmy Carter funk years, explore possibility of space and new frontier..looks like we'll have to endure Jimmy Carter 2 now. Put Mars on hold. Dumacraps really suck the life out of a country. They have a fetish with meddling, taxing, spending wastefully.
Rape-ublicans took a zero debt, zero deficit, smoothly running economy and turned it into this. Now theyr'e blocking every effort to fix it, saying more of the same is what we need. Talk about sucking the life out of a country.
As for moon vs Mars, sounds more like we're setting the bar higher. Two things bring tears to my eyes without fail: Revelation 19:16 and seeing a craft with "United States" on the side rising on a column of fire.
We got to watch a blast off at night while in Florida...it's amazing. Also we took pix of the Challenger while watching the blast off at Cape Canaveral on there last successful blast off. If you're ever in Florida at the right time..go and watch this...it's amazing.
losangelesrep...you have got to be there and watch it. There were cancellations and we had to wait..but we finally got to watch it. Also take the tour of the facility...it's very interesting.
