  • Yeah, we should really encourage the society of motorists to trust this ass clown rather than open the hood of their our own car and see that though one has changed their oil with synthetic, the car has either leaked or burned beyond minimum specs for oil capacity at 2000 miles.

The reason you think you're being ripped off is because you don't even know the first step to being an automobile owner.

It's a constant struggle between the idiot customer and the mechanic who wants your car to live.

  • Honda Dealerships are great about service! they never tried to sell my wife!

  • This guy has no idea what he's talking about. An independent shop may be cheaper than a dealership, but they may not even use OEM parts. So instead of getting an oil filter from the manufactuer, the indy shop will sell on that paper fram crap! Oh, and SEVERE USE is considered "city driving" and stop-and-go. If you think I'm BSing, drive in the city and on the highway, then notice your fuel economy. What condition are you getting more mileage from?

  • I do ALL of my own service.

  • Most of the time what you can do is get a second opinion.

  • WOW you guys are all blind! you think just cuz a guy works at the stealership that he know what hes doing! i got news for you most if not all of them are complete dumbasses who guess and have no troubleshooting skills at all! I am a pro car audio installer and they blame aftermarket speakers for the transmission going out, a radio install emmiting rf and causing tpms to go out, i school these dumb fucks all the time AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jimg0007 Right on! You are so right. I am an ASE Master Tech with 19 years exp. I have worked for many dealers and independents. I got fed up with dealers, the manufacturers don't want you to troubleshoot. They provide you with a flow chart, check this, replace that, if it don't work call the tech line. Most dealers have a shop full of newbies, and maybe 1 or 2 real tech's. When you can't make it at jiffy lube, the dealer will probably hire you! LOL!!!

  • i work at a dealership and i love when people bring their car to an aftermarket facility to get repairs, because when it comes back to me all messed up because the mechanic didnt know how to properly fix the car, the repair price is double sometimes triple what it would have been it they would have 1st brought it to the dealership

  • This guy has NO idea what he`s talking about. Remember the OEM owners manual is not giving you the big picture unless you read between the lines, just like credit card companies..... They are all in competition with the whole world for car SALES! Buy X car because its cheaper to keep. The REQUIRED maintenance on most cars is the SEVERE service table.....Those are the facts..........period.

  • @stewiesgal lol what kind of car do you drive??? Lambo?? Ferrari???

Normal cars dont need an oild change every 3 months....thats a rediculous waste of money and oil.

  • What if independent shops screw up, mmmm they send it to the dealer where it should be in the first place.

  • If this guy really knew his stuff he'd know that all car manufactures do indeed consider a lot of short trips and stop and go driving to be "severe". They even list it in the owners manual. And saving money on cheaper labor is not a great idea. Remember that when it comes to cars, you get what you pay for.

  • wow....he says dont go to dealer. let the private mechanic put no o.e fluids and parts on your car and the customers go to dealership upset that they shadetree mechanic screwed there car up.....

  • Scams, scams, scams, scams, scams....
