Straight to my collection of favourites! I haven't seen this classic short in ages, and it revived many pleasant memories. Thanks so much for posting.
This was so sweet! Here, again, is another sketch buried deep in the recesses of my memory. Once I start watching and listening, it all starts coming back. Thanks for posting!
I enjoyed watching this clip back in the days, however i did not know it was Calloway doing the narration i thought it was someone else, this should've been a cartoon series.
The background is terrific and the food looks so mmm mmm good.
This looks to me like a French-language segment that was produced for Sesame Street in Canada, hence Northern Calloway doing narration in English. All of the "S" words mentioned begin with "S" in French; since "sucette" is the French word for "lollipop", it would have made more sense to use "sweets" in place of a word beginning with "L" if it was to be produced in English!
Well, the translators could've chosen "suckers", although that word for lollipops is regional (and has other slang meanings not suited to a kids' TV show).
Nice peaceful clip. What a nice day those snakes had.

Surely, it was a superb day under sunny skies with temps in the seventies.
Other foods that haven't been mentioned include salmon, squash, and stew. Also, a strawberry smoothie would make a nice cool drink. Don't you think?

Aw-how cute! I love the background music and the voice over. Definately worth saving.
glowworm2 5 years ago
I agree, it's Northern Calloway. BTW, the music sounds a lot like the song "Day By Day" from "Godspell."
glickmam 5 years ago
Funny you should mention that because I understand Sonia Manzanno was in the broadway production of it.
MIKECNW 5 years ago
It's "Manzano", but you're right, she was in the Broadway production, in which she played a character named, Sonia.
glickmam 5 years ago
The music also closely resembles the song "(They Long to Be) Close to You" by the Carpenters.
