  • Where can I find the lyrics?????

  • Maybe my ears are too sensitive, but there seems to be a heck of a lot more bass drum in this version.

  • When in uni, I have known Atsuko Ise or Easy for my entire duration at university on a business degree & he lived in Sendai. I have been to the remains of his home which is a total mess. His is presumed dead & after 6 months is still MISSING. Now I am on a flight back home to the UK to get on with my life. This song reminds me & him singing it together on a kareoke night which we all got hammered. Beautiful memories .

Atsuko "Easy" Ise (1987 - 2011), never forgotten, hopefully still alive

  • I remember the first time I saw this video , someone knocked on my door and told me that he was buying my rented house from my devious landlord. I had no prior knowledge. I slept with very heavy enzymes that night. That was a f***** tsunami, alright... :P

  • @suchstrangecandy wrong end of stick keyboard warrior. fuk u shima

  • The song is not about a Tsunami as in the tragic events in Japan but about the Jennifer and June Gibbons, AKA The Silent Twins.

  • reminds me of Japan

  • @drinkman &mdsofdeath-what stupid racist prats you are, you should be ashamed of yourselves

  • I wonder if the Japs & Kiwi's are playing this song on the radio now?

  • the songs about 2 sisters

  • Apparently Nicky Jones aka (Nicky Wire) spoke to the remaining member's of Queen quite recently and suggested James take over as vocalist and replace Paul Rodgers! true i believe. Of course i imagine James would say no can do even though he has a much stronger voice than Rodgers. I think Freddie would give a thumbs up to Bradfield too.

  • @jameyinegypt | wouldn't work.. james wouldn't look the part and queen does a professional show, james can be a little sloppy at times, we all know this, it's a fact, yes i am a true and ardent manics fan..

  • @dljc1979 I'll say yes and no to that then! :P

  • @dljc1979 Don't even think about insulting me now because you haven't seen nasty yet. If you want to start chopsing to me then I would be prepared for hell! I sent you a formal response so don't start OK?

  • @MrWillaldinho | FUCK OFF AND EAT SHIT YOU STUPID CUNT.

  • @dljc1979 FUCK OFF BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY U PAKI! UR ADOPTED AND NOONE LIKES U! SORT UR FUCKING LIFE OUT COZ U LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX.

  • @MrWillaldinho | what? WHAT?! WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU GET THE IDEA I'M A PAKI?!?!??!?!? BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M WHITER THAN SNOW YOU STUPID LEFTIE SHIT!!!!!!!!! FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!

  • @dljc1979 SORT UR FUCKING LIFE OUT U FAT PIECE OF SHIT! DOES ANY1 EVEN LIKE U? GO BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY U FUCKING IMMIGRANT

  • @MrWillaldinho | you either can't read english or you are being an arse on purpose, it doesn't matter which because stupidity and evil produce the same results..

  • @dljc1979 WHAT? What the fuck r u on? R u a fickin retard or something? Everything u said then was pointless and had nothin 2 do with what i said

  • I always wonder how it would have gone down had they played this number at the Tsunami relief show in Cardiff early 2005?! seriously though. That would be old Manic's in their earlier day's Nicky Wire then would have made James play it! if the song had existed then. They were sooo controversial many moon's ago.

  • Tsunami, a sad yet great pop song by the Preacher's. 8/10

  • What an absolutely amazing band. Their gigs are an amazing experience too.

I am comfortable saying that they are easily one of the best bands of the last 30 years.

  • @ambassador7 Easily one of the best? are you sure? surely you mean THE best of the last 30 year's!! :D

  • o love this, i could kick my self in the face for loosing the cd this was on...

  • man i love the manics

  • This song was so long before the boxing day 2003 Tsunami...yet whenever I hear it it reminds me of it. Strange

  • @Damo3445 | BECAUSE IT'S CALLED TSUNAMI..

  • @dljc1979 I know what it's called. You miss my point. The song itself reminds me of the boxing day Tsunami!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Damo3445 I DID NOT MISS YOUR POINT, I WAS POINTING OUT HOW DUMB YOU ARE THAT A SONG CALLED TSUNAMI THAT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH ACTUAL TSUNAMI'S REMINDS YOU OF AN ACTUAL TSUNAMI!!!!! FUCKING BRAINDEAD WEIRDO!!!!!!!!!

  • @dljc1979 Excellent, another keyboard warrior on youtube. The beauty of music is that it stirs different emotions and has different meanings to wide audiences. This one happens to remind me of a particular event. It also reminds me of being dumped by my then girlfriend, that has nothing to do with a Tsunami either does it. As for the insults, well done. I'll bet mother is proud of her little junior.

  • @Damo3445 | BEING OBTUSE IS REALLY FUCKING EASY ISN'T IT? FUCK OFF YOU DICKLESS MORON.

  • @dljc1979 Who started with the obscenities fella? I didn't ask for you to respond in the manner in which you did. Carry on with your insults, you are making yourself look very immature.

  • @dljc1979 What has Damo3445 done to deserve a response like that? I don't understand people who seem to want to start an argument. I know someone that's like that and he really s not that intelligent so....... I think you can see what I'm getting at.

  • @MrWillaldinho | if you don't understand what he did to deserve the response i gave him then you should never have posted the message to which i am now replying to and you are now reading you witless idiot..

  • fuck religion this is my bible

  • Inhale the anxiety in between, in between, in between...

  • @brotherfrank62 this song is not actually with the christian meaning, it's about the so-called Silent Twins, Welsh sisters Gibbons, I highly recommend you reading about them because I wouldn't be able to explaing everything in even a long post best regards & sb

  • Love the Manics..............this album was their zenith, but even below par, they still blow most of the rest away!

  • Feckin awesome track

  • an awesome tune, an amazing band.

  • Clearing up the misunderstanding about tithing in today's New Testament Church.

  • cant wait to see you at the uea at norwich you rock the words are so amazing

  • This song was absolutely fantastic. Wish I was nineteen again! Them days we were spoilt for great bands, The Manics, Oasis, Cast , OCS, Blur, The list is endless, Happy Days!

  • This recalls my days working in a smelly factory for an agency in the late 90's. Radio 1 still played songs like this then. Mark and lard! Fearne fuckwit cotton now and the like. I sound like me dad!

  • @neiltay2002 Your not wrong there mate, can't believe they replaced Mark with a simpering groupie, Mark and Lard were too funny for idiots to understand which is why they got moved. Still, musn't grumble

  • @tjmacjee Stop.......carry on.

  • @neiltay2002 Whoooooooooooooooooooooo?

  • Yezzz, great song, just loving it! Tanx for sharing!

  • Best Manics song ever in my humble opinion. Just beautiful.

  • always loved this song, its very haunting, but beautiful, love the manics.. still today,

  • Fantastic catchy tune from Manics, as usual. Forgot how good this song is. Compared to some of the garbage in the Top 40 Charts these days this is absoulute Gold.

  • How is it I've never heard of these guys before!!??

This is the stuff I look for and so seldom find!! Awesome!

  • @srknight2 enjoy discovering more about them, they have a varied and interesting history

  • @83cd I got the feeling this was just your average band. Will look forward to finding out more about them. Just love their sound!

  • @srknight2 if you listen to this compared to something from the 1st or 2nd album you might not even believe its the same band

  • @83cd

Realized I wrote "just your average band" un my earlier comment, when I meant to say "not your average bannd"!

Will have to give the early stuff a listen. Thanks for the recommendation.

  • for you my dear sister!....

  • someone´s driving you insane. it´s me. xD

awesome song, great lyrics, interesting background. (I´m one of those ppl beliving that it actually is about the silent twins)

  • This my truth is the the Manics album I listen to most, and this is the best track on it

  • Excelent!!

  • Pure and simple delivered from the soul this song is!!

  • @shanie119 oh shut up you pratt

  • absolute genius song and video - it's actually about The Silent Twins girls AND not a love story - manics dont sing about love!

  • @hyllaf Even in the song called "Your Love Alone Is Not Enough"? hmmmmmmmmm

  • @djmccoy23 If I remember well, there is an interview here on youtube where Nicky says that the song is about him and Richey. That it's like a dialogue between the two of them, since he was always more optimistic and Richey less..but well i might be wrong..I'll look for the interview..

  • @ebonytorment I'm not sure, but read in a lot of places that this song is about the silent twins, lyrics seem to confirm it "for you my dear sister/holding on to me forever", "your only crime is silence", "won't talk, won't walk"

  • @djmccoy23 yes this song is about the silent twins!I was talking about your love alone is not enough ^^ sorry if i mixed things up..

  • @ebonytorment it was me that got mixed up, sorry! "Your Love Alone.." is a tough one to get the meaning of as its ambiguous, the line "I could have written all you lines" seems to be definitely aimed at Richey though.

  • @djmccoy23 /watch?v=a4I9yqvv_0U&feature=related This is the interview..He talks about it around 3:00 Well since Nicky said it's about that..he must be right. The lyrics are his after all

  • @ebonytorment great find on the interview, thanks for clearing that up.

  • @djmccoy23 no problem! =)

  • @djmccoy23 there aint no meaning to this song you bastard

  • Its only bands like the MANICS and EARTH CULTURE that really kick ass these days!

  • its a love song, maybe about a massage james had once, i stood and watched, lol

  • This Is My Truth... changed my life

  • This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours.....Magnifico Trabajo

  • I rarely heard an emotionally honest album as This Is My Truth before. Sometimes painfully honest (Born A Man, My Little Empire) but it's always a perfect mix of emotion, honesty, experiment and melody. Like a perfect album should be. In this song they use some sort of weird instrument, sounds like an organ or indian instrument (sitar?) just like in Why So Sad. Anybody know what it is called?

  • pretty sure you are right... sitar..

  • Might be effects on a normal guitar, too.

  • I did like there last album but i wish they made songs like this again.

  • Todella hieno biisi! Silti on ymmärrettävää, ettei tätä ole soitettu Suomen radioasemilla kaukoidässä tapahtuneen tsunamikatastrofin jälkeen, jossa kuoli monia suomalaisia mm. Aki Sirkesalo. Biisi oli tehty silti jo kauan ennen hyökyaaltoa.

  • Inbetween Inbetween Inbetween Inbetween! =D

  • fantastic song!

  • manics rocks!!!

  • tsunami tsunami

    watashi wo saratte arainagase

    hanasenai omoenai damaru tachidomaru

  • This is my favourite of all the post-Richey stuff.

  • I've never really...liked this song, whatever it is about. But I love them, and I've always loved this video. Or..the words in it. :)

  • they made some sort of agreement that if one of them died the other had to start speaking and begin to live a normal life...and i think thats what the writing in the background is prob referring to "only one should lose, i was missing from the world, you gave my life back to me" i might be wrong...

  • The song is about the twins June and Jennifer Gibbons who were locked into a bizarre, negative, delusional and unhealthy love-hate relationship with each other. They refused to communicate with anyone but each other. They were both brilliant writers, but their rich fantasy world was filled with violence, murders, drugs, rape and addiction. Together they embarked on a crime spree one autumn, committing arson, burglary graffiti and destruction. They eventually wound up in Broadmoor. Jennifer died

  • no, I disagree, it's about elephants

  • One of the Manics' best

  • i no im the same love home cymru am byth.

  • I miss Cymru sometimes....especially when I hear the Manics

  • badly drawn boy stole this...

  • such a great track the words ..the manics never get it wrong..

  • Women hurt men and men hurt women. But I still love women.

  • brilliant song & band

  • this is such an epic song for me i love it so much. its about 2 sisterwho have never ever spoken for many years after one of them was raped. so frikken sad.

  • Yes it is a beautiful, atmospheric, haunting song... but it is about the twins June and Jennifer Gibbons who never ever spoke to anyone else but each other. I don't think that it had anything to do with rape... the 'rapists' in the song refers to their sexually violent and destructive novel 'Discomania' in which teenagers are driven to violence and murder by the beat of the music played in a disco club.

  • great song with some epic lines

  • their style of music is so unique and no other band can create this type of sound

u can tell their r welsh haha so good

  • Damn, this is such a good band, fuck Britney off, fuck All American Rejects off...

    Vivan los Manics!

PD: I hope they come to Chile soon =D

  • Idioit.

  • In their early twenties, the twins wrote several novels each, mostly dealing with teenage alienation and communication breakdowns in families. After unsuccessful attempts at dating and friendships, they began committing petty burglary and arson. They were caught, tried, convicted and sentenced to Broadmoor, a maximum-security hospital for the criminally insane.Upon their release from Broadmoor in93, Jennifer abruptly died. An autopsy revealed severe viral myocarditis,an inflammation of the heart

  • Damn the Manics are deep -_-

  • "September under the weather" comes from June's "September Poems", written from prison. In general, Edwards' lyrics are a good imitation of June's style.

"Disco dancing with the rapists" could be a reference to Jennifer's novel Discomania, in which a dance hall is the scene for insanely random acts of violence, or to the discos held in the hospital.

"Sleep and breathe under our sheets" refers to the fact that both girls frequently experienced a feeling of suffocation in their sleep.

  • The line'disco dancing with the rapists' is from the fact that the sisters were kept in a high security prison with the likes of rapists. Guess what they had annual disco's

  • This song is about June and Jennifer Gibbons, the "silent twins" of Haverfordwest, Wales. Born April 11, 1963, the sisters were elective mutes. The Manics have been known to uncover unusual facts and create songs about them, and the story of the twins. The "tsunami" is probably from a reference in Jennifers diary to the girls' habit of bathing in Broadhaven Bay: "I want to let the waves break over me. I want them to bruise me and beat me. I feel I'm living again with violent exhilaration."

  • Taky móóó pěkný.

  • I love the Manics. 4 working class lads from Cardiff. Their music is original and catchy. I love their videos. Tsunami is a good song and i haven't heard it in a long time.

  • one of my fav songs ever...

    i love manics...

    their songs are amaziing!

  • nice 1. 1999 i think.this is my truth album?
