Then was devestated when watch a dvd of a Long Way to the Top and saw her beautiful face come up when Col Joye sang rock and roll heaven. 64 and bloody cried. My late wife couldn't believe it. Me crying that is.

This is my grandma. I'm 11 now and i never got to meet her my dad has been a fantastic support and told me all about her. Love the effect at 1:46. Dick Lester must have been watching for a year later he used a similar effect on Paul McCartney in A Hard Days Night.

I guess because it involved more people, the chorus harmonies in this version are to me much better than the Essex original.

Indeed Laurel Lee was a beautiful and talented singer. I'm sure she would've made it in the USA had the fates been kinder. We will never forget her.
