for everyone who somehow misunderstood them (idk how though lol)... pretty much their album rig was mainly matt's main old gibson through a maxod od 808 into a peavey 5150 head with mesa boogie rectifier and a mesa boogie traditional cabinets, corey's leads were a peavey 6534 head into the same stuff and a little eventide harmonizer

I dont think we need to worry about his epi because I'm pretty sure whatever you saw or saw him play with were just prototypes which are always very plain! they're just supposed to 'work' then after the specs are settled they get into making it look good...it'll probably be a Les Paul with EMG's but a better neck and maybe a better cut-away at the back...

Saw them live in July on the mayhem tour :) right before them in flames played and then like two seconds after they got done from my right I heard capsizing the sea start and then they walked out and started in waves. It was the coolest concert I have ever been to! Trivium is great live! I caught nicks stick and Matts pick :) lol

@TheMrbongobongo If you dont like the body of the Eclipse then there's the Eclipse Traditional , which has a much thicker body than the regular eclipse , and you can get an ESP Ltd with Mahogany Body , EMG'S , Neckthru construction for 700$ , A Gibson Lespaul with those specs would be around 4000$ with shitty craftsmanship , and I played the Epiphone lespaul prophecy custom and it sounds too dark and muddy , not to mention the quilt maple top on it looks like shit ;)

I doubt he'll be playing his epiphone signature much. Why would he want to play an epiphone when he has like 5 other Gibson custom shop guitars? I think it's pointless to make a signature guitar that's gonna be lower quality than what you're used to playing.

@bledboost he's not saying he's going to drop using his les paul customs instead he's saying he wants to build a cheaper model that has good build quality that he could in theory use for performing. its cheaper also! think about it this way his signature epiphone will probably cost somewhere between 5 and 700 and a real gibson les paul custom starts off at around 3300 to 3500. so thats the point...unless you have 3500 lying around the house that is.

@mrphilcollins obviously the epiphone is a lot cheaper because it's lower quality. I think if he's gonna make a signature guitar it should be the one he mainly plays. It's kinda phoney to put your name on a guitar that you're not going play or rarely play. That goes for any equipment endorsement. Someone else commented that they were endorsement whores, sounds about right...

@bledboost i'm not saying anything different to you. i agree if you endorse something...you should use it. on one end its nice that players release epiphone versions as its way too expensive for the real thing and secondly the guitars are usually pretty good, just check out the joe bonamasa epiphone. on the other hand its easy to get the idea its a money spinner, good idea too as most trivium fans don't have money for high end guitars so making a signature les paul wouldn't benefit gibson.

@bledboost I've been playing Epiphone for 10 years now? Honestly I would probably choose the Epiphone over the Gibson. Purely because they are solid instruments. They may not be a Gibson but I've never had a problem with any of mine. Also a Gibson Les Paul Custom starts out at around 3499. An Epiphone Les Paul Custom is about 499 to 799 maybe? Just a huge price jump so if I had to choose I would stick with Epiphone because it is more affordable for everyone. Not just to make money.

@beenoopo no definitely not.. they supposed to be good cause good sounding highs and lows, but the lows really sucks ass and make the tone sound blurry, expect youre using million pedals and every one set mids to full.. dude its not even opinion here. its more than an opinion the pickups dont cover the fullrange and no im not prefering emgs, well thery better but for example dimarzios cover the full range and the tone stays clear even with a worse amp.
