When Buu absorbs a fighter WEAKER than him, he becomes WEAKER. Super Buu with Piccolo and Trunks and Goten absorbed was weaker than just Super Buu. Think about it, Gotenks SSJ3 was on equal terms with Super Buu, if Buu absorbed a SSJ or normal form of Gotenks, he would've become weaker.

When it was SHOWN that gun bullets could penetrate super boo easily. Goku never once said gotenks or Gohan was stronger than him. You can't just ignore statements. Hell even the daizenshuus state goku > Gohan multiple times but not ONCE say ultimate Gohan > goku

Gohan was only the strongest unfused character in the cell games, in the boo arc it's quite clear that it's goku, if gohan was supposedly supposed to surpass him again, then it would have been flat out mentioned. But there is literally not one mention of gohan surpassing goku.

Goku feared fighting him, couldn't fully control SSJ3 (yet Gotenks could) and even with help from Vegeta could NOT win without the spirit bomb. Note that Kid Buu IS weaker than Super Buu but he's just FAR more destructive. Goku by the end of the Buu saga was the 3rd strongest not counting fused characters. Though you can argue the very end of DBZ.
