  • WTF EPIC PvP much? thank for this... see all you Guild Wars heads in the game soon

  • @TheCaptainSponge wow was the most succesful but it was hardly the best. know the difference

  • @PolaroidSupercolor youve been brainwashed by wow. either go back to that stupid game or embrace what is gw2

  • @missionpupa Only naïve people use wow and gw2 in the same sentence :)

  • hmm so when you work hard to get the best pvp gear out there. It doenst matters because everyone in the competitive mode gets the same gear ? ... yeeey....

  • @PolaroidSupercolor Yes, in competitive mode you compete on your skill, so you have to be BETTER than the other guy, not just with more time to grind honour. In open PvP however.....

  • @PolaroidSupercolor Whoa dude, you might have to actually rely on your SKILL, rather than your gear. Damn, looks like you might have to do more than grind honor for 12 hours a day to be good at this game, champ.

  • @LimyTv So, having the best gear possible doenst require skill ? Derp much ?

  • @PolaroidSupercolor No, it actually doesn't, I assume you play WoW? Well, so did I, I know very well how easy it is to grind honor for gear. You can even do it AFK for God's sake. I think you should just embrace this system. It's going to save you alot of annoying grinding, and give you a better, more competitive PvP experience.

  • @LimyTv So you afked in 2500 arena brackets ... sure.

I should just embrace the system, because you think its better ? Its your opinion dude. Get over it Gw fanboy :)

  • @PolaroidSupercolor Believe me, I fought my way to 2500's the same damn way you did. Basically, It's less boring monotonous grinding to enjoy the fair, balanced pvp we enjoy, and I'm not a GW fanboy. I played WoW for 6 years.. I didn't even play GW 1. This looks like a promising game though, and yes, I'll definantely be playing it.

  • @PolaroidSupercolor GW2 is simply an attempt to level the playing field for everyone by basing pvp on skill, teamwork, and strategy. Somewhere along the timeline of mmo's, the idea took root that spending tons of time/money on a game should entitle you to advantages in combat. The reward for being good in pvp should be server respect and reputation, not gear that makes you so uber you don't have to try as hard anymore.

  • I'm going to be sorta upset if there is no dedicated healer for GW2 :(

  • @ItsPureLuck27 Then get prepared to be upset. There are NO dedicated healers in the game. Same with tanks actually.

  • World PvP *fap*

  • KONY 2012

  • World of warcraft was,Is and will be the best.-

  • @TheCaptainSponge yeah u are totally right dude.

  • @TheCaptainSponge For many people, WoW IS the best and always will be. Still, it's nice that ArenaNet is taking the time to tailor the game to a wide variety of playstyles as well as learning from WoW's mistakes. Don't get me wrong, WoW is one of, if not THE, best MMO out there, but you can't deny it has its own share of problems. I'm really looking forward to playing this game!

  • @PenguinForge Not trying to be rude, but your dumb as hell if you really think that WoW "is the best and always will be for many ppl" because gamers, just like tech, love to improve and go to the next greatest thing when a truly great thing comes along, which is exactly whats happening..pay attention.

  • @Th3SandManCan Sorry, I must not have been clear enough in my comment. I DON'T think "WoW is the best and always will be". I was referring to other people who say that. Sure, most of them might just be trolling and, now that I think about it, that's much more likely. Either way, I never said I agreed with them.

  • @Th3SandManCan On the note of "you must be as dumb as hell if you think that WoW 'is the best and always will be'", I agree. If you were referring to the fact that I took many of these people seriously, maybe you're also right. Sheesh, I can't read people through text on a screen. How am I supposed to know if a person commenting on a youtube video about WoW being superior to GW2, despite its innovations, is trolling or just stupid? What about @TheCaptainSponge?

  • As good as all this sounds, I will miss the feeling of holding the Hall of Heroes or defeating top Guilds in GvG. It's just not the same playing on dedicated servers...

  • I never played GW or was ever really into an MMO besides Runescape (it was my first one, thank god. I'd probably be addicted to them if I started with a good one), but this seems like a great approach to PvP!

  • Is there second profession in GW2?

  • @KemikaaliNisti No, you have one profession only, no secondary profession. However, you can cross-profession combo effects, which is even cooler, and far more dynamic.

  • @SagelikeOne I agree. The secondary prof. system in GW1 was retarded and most importantly boring. GW as a whole was a boring game compared to WoW (And I don't even like WoW) I'm glad ArenaNet has stepped up and replaced all the bad stuff with fun stuff.

  • Are you the one that made the video showing that even if your armor level 50 has better stats than a level 30, you can keep the appearance of the lvl 30 with the lvl 50 atributtes?

  • Equal gear as everyone else? I kinda like the aspect of having something to earn to prove that you spent the time and effort to get gear better than someone who turns the game on and starts pvping. And PvP should never be intertwined with PvE thats completely obvious.

  • I'm playing SWTOR right now and so many kids are in denial how bad the PvP is in that game and how much better GW2 is going to be in comparison.

  • no limit for wvwvw? Well...best get myself a HD7870, just to be safe

  • I think u should get bumped to max in structured pvp but u should get pre-defined gear or all skills, wtf is the point of doing all those cool hidden world things to earn your abilities if some asshole can just join pvp and have them all instant given.

  • @Terra1311 you dont get those extra skills you just get you're stats boosted

  • @1989Anarkie i heard in structured pvp (not world pvp) u get a full set of pvp armor and all skills in the game, i saw a dev say it.

unless he wasnt explaining himself right, which i hope.

  • @Terra1311 That is correct. If you want to learn more I made a PvP clip detailing it on my channel.

  • @SagelikeOne I guess making gw2 stuff is an easy way to get a ton of subscribers lol.

    Anyhow yeah.

  • I dont want anything else in MMO's besides a good pvp system.

  • Whats the max characters to make?

  • How was GW1 not balanced? They rebalanced it every week the so meta was in constant change. There were hundreds of viable high level play builds like ranger spike, necro spike, degen pressure, IWAY, MM, rainbow spike, other gimmicky builds, and the hundreds of variations on balanced builds. No game can achieve perfect balance so if the meta is constantly shifting, that should count as balanced. With the amount of build customization in that game, it was also very easy to make a counter build

  • @MengoMango I listened to an interview video with one of the dev's in charge of balancing talking about the skill system and how they said it was very hard for them to balance because there were too many options and too many variables. So considering it came from someone whose job it was to balance I'd reckon it was pretty hard, lol.

Not 100% but I think the video is on Xolfury's channel or someone similar.

  • World PVP is either going to be very balanced... or there will be one team which rapes everyone else. If its the latter, then it won't be fun. I really hope its the former.

  • @he110me it will never be like that it is bracketed if your realm is bad you will go lower in the bracket or if it is it is good you will rise its realy great system to make is balanced and this happenes every week ^ ^

  • good video

  • If there is swcond profession i will totally pick necromancer and knight. And I will name it "Black Knight"... it would be awesome *-*

  • @xantyleonhart Knight isn't a class. You should've played GW 1 more and you would have realized that that combination is stupid, it might have worked better in this game but still, no secondary profs.

  • @Chambo195

Guardian. I ment guardian, I confused the name because it looked like a knight -_-, the idea according to the strengths would be to make a super tank that could give boosts as well as summon or deal status e ailments or debuffs to the enemies... plus, the guardian is one of the most resistent classes(if not the most) and the necromencer's special hability allows him to revive as an ethereal form once dead (that's like 2 health bars). That would be just broken LOL.

  • Having a second profession would be cool as fuck though, at least let us switch between two or more on one character if we can't use more than one at the same time.

  • This video was incredibly helpful. Thankyou!

  • music is awesome!

  • intro sounds like blazblue

  • This is really socially degradating...

    Sounds Delicious!

  • Nice :)

  • Stupid Scrubs. blabla not relying on items finally blabla. Its just bullshit i remember back in the wow days i still was able to get Gladiator with an undergeared Character. Just l2p and dont complain about gear. Its just sad. A good player is able to win even with a disadvantage. Dont get me wrong. I love the PvP in Gw2 but its just sad to think you lost Games in other MMO's because enemy had better Gear. You should learn your class and play in team.

  • @justsayingxoxo yea that rarely happen for most

  • @justsayingxoxo It's great that you actually have enough time to get that gear some of us may have skills but not the time availeble to actually get all the gear. It also means the combat will rely more on skill then on gear. Would be stupid if a noob could just get on a pro account and own everyone wouldn't it ?

  • @Gasmotoful you don't understand me. Im actually saying that Gear never made a big difference. You could not win Games in any mmo if you were bad. Thats just a fact. Even if you had the ubergear. And like i said. A good player learns all classes in the Game and if he has great reflexes is very familiar with Keybinds and knows how to React on what enemy skill then you dont need Gear. But for players at the exact same skilllevel, its ofc nice if you have the same gear for pvp.

  • @justsayingxoxo lawl, atleast we 'stupid scrubs' seem to realize that when (equally skilled) mikethegladiator rolling in previous season's gear and a fully pimped samthegladiator spar, mikethegladiator gets fecked. Thus an even starting basis for everyone is - no matter how you look at it - better.

  • Looks much better then fucking SWTOR. One problem, don't think my PC could handle this game D: I'm using 2gb of ram, nvidia geforce 9400 GT windows vista home premium service pack 2..

  • GW1 PvP was not balanced yes, but it's still way more competitive than any other gear based PVP game. :P

    Anyway, great video! Cannot wait.

  • @preeerob Apparently reaction is a confusing word for some people.

  • @Guran722 apparently what I said was difficult for you to comprehend. Yes technically clicking F1 (directing the order) and having a desired response (receipet of the order) can be considered "reaction time" *no sh*t sherlock*. Nevertheless, if you consider that to be skill and somehow challenging........ I am truely at a loss of words.

  • Aah... fair PvP. Something that WoW doesn't have.

  • Comment removed

  • @preeerob inless your a special case :)

  • The best balanced pvp system by far..

  • in WvW, when your scaled up to max level due to heaps of 80s around.. you still keep your shitty low level gear dont you..? makes it a bit uneven?

  • @MichaelViewTube Most gear in the game will be strictly for cosmetic purposes. And WvW is designed to be unbalanced anyway.

  • @MichaelViewTube you dont keep it

  • Does guild wars 2 have Factions or "guilds" having wars agaisnt eachother and WORLD PVP?

  • intro song ------> /watch?v=WufHWSk4_kc

  • WoW is gone, everyone I know has left it and are now waiting for GW2.

  • 59 ppl is to scared to see that wow is doomed

  • guild wars is definitely tha game i always wanted, if they can make true what they promise

  • OMG BLAZBLUE MUSIC!

  • there is one thing that bugs me about pvp, if it is server against server... THE ASIAN SERVER WILL BE OP :O

  • I do hope they make some kind of reward for being awesome in PvP. But not better gear but maybe some cooler style of it but with same stats. That would be awesome. So that you can look at a player and know that he is one tough badass.

  • @Trigggggggggggger dont worry in gw1 each armor had its elite version which is very hard to get and has same stats but 10 tmes cooler looks and no shortcuts to getting it.

  • I hate to disagree with you but World PVP is where skill, brains and teamwork will matter even more than arenas. If it's "casual" like you intimate, it will not be nearly as fun as it should be.

  • @saxster Umm no lol. World pvp is the more casual one as you can enter and leave at any time. THe real pvp is the arenas where you can rise up the ranks and enter tournaments to win actual cash so....

  • @sachxtrem You talking to a guy that's been pvping in MMOs since UO closed beta. I think I know of which I speak, but have fun in the arenas. I'll be helping win the wars in Guild WARS.

  • @saxster They will both be skill based but for different reasons.

  • TEAM UP WITH THE THIRD WORLD!!!

  • Omnomnom, pvp is looking delicious.

  • TERA online pvp and Blade and Soul PVP.. nuff said..

  • GUILD WARS 2 IS THE BEST

STOP FUCKING TALK ABOUT THAT SHIT GAME CALLED ***

  • @macmaaan STFU THIS GUY IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS!

    *trollface*

  • @macmaaan tera is for real pvp players NOT TARGETTTTTTTTTTTTTT TARGET GAME IS FOR FAGGOTS

  • Comment removed

  • But I like to work for good armor and than use it against other people

  • alot of reviews out today from teh beta this weekend and all the people who participated in world pvp said it was amazing and brought back the magic that Darkage of Camelot had 8 years ago

  • There is a new article out about wvwvw. it truely is amazing. talks about the maps, each server gets a homefront map thats easier for them to defend then a center map where teh neutral fighting takes place. talks about the keeps, towers, the camps and how the supply lines work (materials to repair keeps and make the siege weapons, and the goal of stealing the other servers orbs to make your server more powerful.(think DAOC relics)

  • An extended description of world pvp is now online at guild wars 2 wiki

  • nice thanks

  • who can tell me what he means by "side-kicked" up to max level

  • Comment removed

  • @pand3micdrums If you join a group with a higher-level character and travel to a higher-level zone then you will "scale" up to that zone so that the contents is interesting. If you are alone you won't scaleup at all. If you join structured PvP you will automatically move to max level so that you compete on a level playingfield. I made a clip about PvP on my channel detailing this.

  • yup, going to level through wpvp. i had no idea wpvp was going to be that intense. kinda reminds me of planetside.

  • At 0:35 that's actually an Euler diagram, not a Venn diagram. Not that anyone would give a shit.

  • guild wars 1 had world pvp but it failed.

  • @navytx73 not because of the world pvp. Guildwars 1 was terrible. Stupid grinder with no epicness. Only later on updates and expacs made it better.

Thats why wow was a success. It was fun from the very beginning. And so is guildwars 2

  • I hope there is like duel options in the world. Where you can duel your friends 1v1 for fun anywhere without having to go somewhere else.

  • Cool thanks for this video the world PvP aspect is huge for me and I didnt know much about what guild wars 2 had planned for it. Looks like this and planetside will be my main 2 MMOS in 2012

  • So, there is no world PvP in this game? By world PvP I mean running around and killing people while you level up? That's basically what makes mmo's good for me. I'll still buy this game and enjoy it but that's a bummer. The thing with structured pvp and even WvWvW is that eventually, you're doing the same thing all the time. And it just gets boring after a while. I have a question, how long does WvWvW last for? It says on the wiki that it's every 2 weeks.

  • @Eiram92 WvWvW lasts 2 weeks long...then resets from what I understand. As far as killing peeps while you level up, I can see the fun in that. But there is a downside. I played one game for a long time that had 2 factions, where there was no faction population cap, and you lost a % of xp everytime you died. And the only place to get max level was a pvp map. So one side had a 60-40 population advantage and would just camp our outpost, effectively stopping any leveling chances.

  • @Eiram92 Extreme case I know, but lopsided populations can really alter playability. There's always the real possibility that ANet will come out with more pvp features, like more maps. They are historically very responsive to player needs and input, as long as general balance is kept.

  • @KonzaCelt This is where the 3way fight comes into factor and fixes itself. When 1 side becomes very powerful or overpopulated it naterially start to win. but this also mean it is in control of the stuff the other servers want, like keeps and objectives. because of this that server now has to try to fight off the other 2 servers that are attacking its stuff. when this happens its forces get divided because its trying to defend on 2 fronts

  • Comment removed

  • @Eiram92 It lasts for 2 weeks and resets in a few hours. BTW actual world pvp is garbage. Its just a gank fest.

  • @Eiram92 In the WvWvW zone there will be PVE and pve dynamic events (im sure there will be an inccetive to do these here like better exp) so you can gank or pick on people that are there for PVE. also by doing this it bring out other people that look for you and this can make very fun small group or solo fights away from the large keep sieges

  • "PvP will be entirely based on skills and not items."

    THANK GOD.

  • @FiftyOverTen

I know right? No more bullshit of gear = god of pvp beating everyone

  • @FiftyOverTen yea i always hate for example in line age some donators whit full armors and stuff thinking they are good in pvp but they suck just his items that only donators can have make the diference hehe

  • gonna be so awesome!

  • watch?v=wNFt8RFl13A GW 2 Hack :]

  • equal gears sounds good! although it is nice to be petter than other poeple if you out the time in...

  • @chiipdee But you will be - your skills will be better. And this translates to another character, you don't have to re-grind for gear no matter the character you play.

  • bunch of faggots v v fuckn losers

  • very well made!

  • @woozyification Oh look kids! Spam at best, scam at worst. I even made a clip about people and posts like this. And there will be more of them the closer we get to the beta.

  • Been playing Warhammer Online for 3 1/2 years... and while i love open world pvp, im really looking forward to structured "scenarios". This'll be the only mmo ive bought since 2008, i cant wait.

  • best explaination ever!!! thanks for that!! :D

  • Ah Ty fair PvP this is gonna be great

  • This game is like 1000xWoW, can't wait ;)

  • Seriously, GW2 NEEDS WORLD PVP!!!

Not BG's and instanced pvp shit bullshit, I want hardcore, sneaky pvp in the open world, and I don't mean pvp realms, but things like where runescape has the wilderness, GW2 should have an open-area type pvp that doesn't need queuing or that other bs.

  • @5swords3 It will. WvWvW will be an open world battlefield where you can level your character exclusively if you don't want to PvE. There is more to PvP than structured arenas.

  • @5swords3 This will never happen in GW2 because Anet has stated time and again they want players to work together to overcome obstacles in the world. It's kinda hard to do that if you're worried about someone else coming up and ganking u. When I first started in GW1 I felt the same way as u but I soon realized that anets way actually works better give it a try u may actually like it. Obtw you should never have to queue in pvp because all pvp is hot joinable.

  • @99bulldog Well the biggest reason why RuneScape is the most successful and known MMORPG ever is because of it's absolute legendary pvp system with things like the wilderness... I highly doubt ganking (or rushing) will be a problem in GW2 because I doubt there'll be any weapons in GW2 that can kill someone in under 5 seconds.

Btw not all pvp is hot joinable... I just uninstalled WoW because the wait time for pvp is 40 minutes... Open world pvp is joinable at any time. Sucks there won't be any.

  • @5swords3 To be honest World pvp in WoW was fucking terrible. All it is was ganking. Constant ganking.

  • YES! Finally someone is doing what DAOC did!

  • The sidekicking to max level, from what I understand, is only for the 5v5 structured pvp arenas. If you leave, you return to your previous level. So I suppose if all you wanted to do with the game is stay in that arena forever...then yeah you would stay at max level. But you're missing 95% of the game if you do that. Guild Wars 2 is an rpg game first, and a pvp game second. Besides, the world pvp (which requires normal leveling) is where the action will really be methinks.

  • @KonzaCelt while in structured pvp (5v5) you are max level, have access to all skills and have the max level armour and weapons, when you leave you go back to what you had before. In WvWvW you are sidekicked up to max level but keep your skills, armor and weapons you brought with you, in this way a real max level player will be better than a lvl 20 character sidekicked up. In WvWvW you can gain experience and items that you keep when you leave. So you may start WvWvW as lvl 20 and leave lvl 24

  • Sidekicked up the max level. Reminds me of my City of Heroes days...

Also world pvp looks fucking epic

  • so f****** awesome..i want it know ^^

  • this ...is...gona...be....EPIC!!!!!

  • @RICKAY747 The player does not immediately attain max level just from doing pvp. You can go in at level 1, be max lvl for the duration of the battle and when it's over, you are back at level 1. I'm sure that only real competitive pvp will be at max level. It also has to do with leveling up and learning how to use your abilities in different situations and in different ways. Like someone may be really good at warrior, and then try to switch to elementalist and suck because they don't understand

  • Someone rely plz

What is the point of making a pve character then

When u can get everything instant and highest level instantly

if you make a pve character from level 1 and level him up to 80 surely you have a bit of uniquenes from people that just get highest level instantly. Do you have diffrent looking armour or a title or something? i just find it frustrating that someone could just get to my level instantly and have everything that i worked for and earned,,

  • @RIKAY747 You do not "level up" that way, you are only temporarily "made" top-level and geared for that one match of structured PvP, and then "go back". You cannot go into open PvP and get top level and gear. You have to look at the two types of PvP completely separately. I am going to make a clip about this on my channel, trying to sort of out some of this stuff. I hope it might answer some more of your question.

  • @RIKAY747 I simply cannot fathom how someone could miscomprehend something so differently from it's actual meaning. Common sense would tell you that no game developer would be so stupid as to allow someone to reach the level cap instantly. Really sir, I am not one to rage but you blow my mind.

  • @TheMachoBunny ur an idiot -.-

i have heard from numerous videos that like guild wars 1 you can create a character that is basicly only pvp and he will be instant 80 no pve what so ever

  • @RIKAY747 @RIKAY747 That is true... but if you bought a fresh GW1 account today, and made a pvp character... you wouldnt have any skills at all. You would have to either pvp with that toon to get faction points (basically), to purchase your abilities... OR pve with that class to get your abilities. Kinda rough for newcomers... but its doable.

  • @VladimirLemLem hmm.. i know that. but with gw2 u can do the same thing but u get all skills and stuff, no need to farm faction

  • @TheMachoBunny You sir, are a moron. Do some research... You can make a lvl 20 pvp character right from the start, in GW1.

  • Lets put it this way...

    E P I C

  • this guy talks alot but Im sure he cant have FUn in a video game , this thype of gamer is the one that just talks and RANTS about everything but never enjoys a game , sad , really sad

  • @Cobac watch his other videos, the not GW2 ones

  • Playing SWTOR atm and as much as I love it, unless Bioware pull their finger out fast, this game will humble it into oblivion.

  • Amped for GW2 :D

  • Name of intro song?

  • Fail. Why the FUUCK would anyone bother to get gear or max lvl if it doesnt matter anyway?

  • @ShadawGaming

When you get sidekicked up you don't gain any new abilities that you would have gained through leveling.

The only instance that you gain all your abilities from going to max level would be the structured PvP where everything is fair and balanced... as far as it seems.

  • @ShadawGaming You also need to level and PVE for Traits, there are traits for weapons and classes. traites can improve your attacks/abilities or stats. basically makes your charater alot better

  • @Jstudly771 You can gain traits through open PvP too, you don't need to PvE ever if you don't want to. You can level, getting xp and loot, through PvP. Just not the structured PvP.

  • @ShadawGaming Getting to max level and gear decently will make your live better in open PvP. This is structured PvP and works on a skill-basis. They are two different things. I will make a clip about it in week or so detailing the differences. Maybe that will help sort your question for you.

  • @ShadawGaming That's only for the battleground type pvp, where you are given access to everything for the battlegrounds, so that it's equal for everyone. So no more going into a battleground with your character that has crap gear and facing people that have the best pvp gear in the game. Like wow, rift, and aion do for instance.

For everything else you need to hit level 80 and get a good set of gear, and then it's a whole new ball game because max level gear works like gw1 max level gear.
