  • Wow so many DC-10s crashed

  • American Airlines again? Geez...

  • That is probably fake

    I can tell

  • I feel sorry for all those people who died.

  • how did you get the scenery?

  • This is the best flight sim video I have seen so far, on this crash.

  • This happened on my 12th birthday. I was in the family car in Texas and heard a radio bulletin just a few minutes after the crash. Still think about it every birthday.

  • loss of hyd pressure caused the leading edge slats to retract on the left wing, causing a lift asymmetry, which caused the roll.

  • I remember this crash, I was 9 and being ridden back home and saw smoke in the distance, about 15 miles from O' Hare airport.

  • the engine fell off the wing and while doing so, tore out the hyd lines. The aircraft had no flight controls at the time of the roll

  • @danudet Sorry to bring up and old post, but they did have control, there are several hydraulic systems that are interconnected and have fail safe measures. the left outboard hydraulics did fail, but the flight controls were intact, they lost the outboard slats and power to the captain's instruments, stick shaker, and slat discrepancy indicator. This is why the aircraft stalled, because they slowed to V2 not knowing the slats had retracted and the stall speed was higher than the v2 speed.

  • Does any one know what happened? Vmc roll? That is what it looks like, but I find that highly unlikely

  • @bronco8585 One of its engines fell of during takeoff because of faulty maintenence. The plane started to roll until it hit a trailer park

  • @Cerberus957 That's strange. Was this a 747? It seems that Vmc would be reduced with an engine missing. Unless it rolled to the side with the engine missing... I would like to read the NTSB report on this one... That is a bad deal either way!

  • @bronco8585 It was a McDonnell-Douglas DC-10.

  • Was that flight sim?

  • My condolences to all those involved. I have just managed to land a 747 with no hydraulics using thrust vectoring on FSX but with a engine and part of the wing missing forget about it

  • There is one thing ta in the film is that the aircraft were not flying auto Pilot

  • EXPLOSIONS DETONED. all ! AND MISILS AIPLANE CAMUFLED. NO PEOPLE IN AIRPLANES.

  • i don't know why the fuck have you deactivate the votes

ALL I KNOW WAS THAT I LOVED THIS VIDEO!!

  • why this guys dont check the planes ? if hey check why dont check it correctly

  • Whats game name?! plz

  • @sam9524 Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.

  • @MinnesotaMan13 Is that the JustFlight DC-10 for FS2004?

  • @boeing521 yes

  • @MinnesotaMan13 good answer. You showed him.

  • Best, Quaillity, Ever. And Best FSX video too!

  • Exellent stuff! only suggestion is on future videos I'd do a voice over commentary instead of captions actually saying what's happening. still nevertheless a great video! thumbs up

  • brill how can i do that good plz tips

  • That is some nice rendering, the taxi ways textures could be improved though

  • its CLS DC-10 for Fs2004 by the way FSX sux i tried it, Its shit....

  • It should be remembered that there is evidence that one of the pilots stomped on the left rudder pedal at the last second, driving the plane into the ground quicker and at the same time sparing hundreds of people in the trailer park in front of the crash site certain death.

  • What a tragedy. The FAA approved company manual requires V2 for engine failure climb after Vr. V3 would have given the crew time to assess damage and choose viable options, such as ditching ( full fuel load ) in Lake Michigan. Granted, he would have probably been zooming over the rooftops to gain speed in a 2of 3 sitrep, but very surviviable. Speed is your friend, dude...ask any freight driver who bulls one of these things around the world.

  • dude awesome graphs!

  • great graphics!

  • FSX? or XPLANE? good dam graphics man:D/////

  • fsx man... xplane doesnt even come close atm.

  • might actually be FS2004

  • correct, it's fs2004.

  • @MinnesotaMan13 HI THERE your videos are really well produced i wanted fto find out how your fraps is in HQ ? mine looks like its a bit pixilated? please help i also do FS9 air accident recreation check tyhem out osmetime

  • Basically I record fraps in full screen and that's it. It takes more performance but I try to squeeze it out as much as I can.

  • @MinnesotaMan13 i record it in full screen aswell? i meen like hows your smooth and the graphics look so clean and not pixilated

  • Well if its FS2004, it good dam graphics for it, gosh lol

  • FS2004 never had bad graphics. FSX on the other hand has incredible graphics in comparison. In standard form, they are about the same, but if you start getting some addons, FSX is unbeatable.

  • i know this is a kinda emotional video...but i was just wandering if the aircraft used was freeware?

  • Not in this video. There are some good freeware dc-10's out there though.

  • ok...how much was that one??

  • About $37USD. It can be purchased on ebay also.

  • looks like its gonna be freeware...

  • holy s***!!!!!!!! that is some nice graphics

  • such a tragedy to see this and actually hear the recordings so sad..

  • didnt the engine fall off during takeoff? or is that another similar crash

  • Well, the engine on the left wing broke off during the takeoff roll and then other errors occurred.

  • ooooo good question, i aint sure now you have asked that...i am 60% sure it is that one

  • great quality, what type of computer do you have?

  • It's a custom built one (I didn't build it though). My specs are located on my channel.

  • this isn't a real story, or?

  • yeah, it's a real crash that did happen.

  • cool vid

  • This was awsome quality. But im so sad they died

  • HOW DID U GET THAT QUALITY

  • Mostly editing. I sharpened it and adjusted the contrast levels in Sony Vegas.

  • cool I need Sony Veags at this rate IT looks GooD

  • Right now I am using the demo of Vegas Movie Studio which works for 30 days.

  • Cool Do u Know how much is it for the full

  • Sony Vegas Pro 9 is the most expensive and it's about $600, but I don't use that. I find the best to be Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 which is $85 from Sony, but you can get it on ebay for around $60.

  • hi this is a great re-creation where did u getr the AMERICAN AIRLINES DC-10 from

  • It's the Just Flight/CLS DC-10. It's payware and livery came with it.

  • awesome quality! 5*

  • The DFDR was not damaged , Electrical power was cutt off because of the damaged left engine, the DFDR on this plane gets its power from the number one engine,

  • thanks so for mention of elaine...she was a wonderful lady...

  • Great video!

  • you may have the best graphics for fsx?!?! what graphics card you got?

  • Actually, it's not FSX, it's FS2004. I just edited it in Sony Vegas. I have an 8600GTS video card, so nothing very special.

  • OMG AWESOME VIDEO

  • Great video! That is the best quality I have ever seen in a video! Where did you get the aircraft?

  • It's at justflight(dot)com. It's the DC-10 collection.

  • cool :]

  • i agree, gr8 vid mate
