  • Great song Great voice.. fuck yeah!

  • 0:00

    Replay it...like a wheel....that keeps turrrniiiinnggg

  • fuck rap and pop music

  • I would have absolutely zero respect for Stain'd if it weren't for Aaron Lewis and the emotion he puts into his songs. Many bands share the same genre as Stain'd but it shows that they don't really care about their music.

Aaron Lewis seems to take his music and lyrics very seriously and it shows in his voice...

The way he says "Break Awayyyy" gives me fucken chills!

  • Wow, this is actually a pretty good song from The Illusion Of Progress. Lovin' it already. :-) -Ty

  • If you like Aaron Lewis and Staind's Music, check out a band called HURT (even better in my opinion!)

  • guys, what do you think is better staind or seether (i like both bands i'm just wondering because they are similar)

  • @Shadydan05 staind. seether is a great band though

  • @xTaaylorGang thanks i think lyrics wise i think staind is better but like more hits i think seether is better so its 50/50 for me lol

  • i could not sleep because of this song it was playing non stop . love it

  • if anyone has anything to say bad about staid, then there is something wrong with u.. u cant find anyone else thata puts so much heart and feelings into thier music like he does..

  • @Meagan6420 Staid is a piece of shit. Staind, on the other hand, now HE's good :b

  • Studio Update, Staind has finished the recording progress for their 7th album, it's due out later this year. (:

  • I just can't wait for the new stuff!!! It's supposed to be more like the Staind we "Met & fell in love with in the beginning"

Aaron is the $hit tho...regardless of what he sings!!!

  • I Love His vioce it's Amazing!

  • god i love Staind. i've been a long time listener, and i agree with most when i say he's got one of those singing voices that ya cant help but listen to, also a great lyricist, im pretty sure he writes most of the bands music... anyways big fan, helped me in dark times ect... keep rockin.

  • Aaron Lewis sounds like the lead singer from Seether in this song

  • my favorite song from this album.

  • hehe i stumbled across this song looking for the codelyoko end theme....have no clue wat this has to do with it but it is a great song no doubt i don't see wat the fuss is about people baggin it....i loved it

  • Aaron Lewis is exceptional even among greats. He conveys what millions of people feel and can't say with almost every song he sings. In my opinion is not just the best Rock genre vocalist of all time. He's just the greatest of all time. Of course opinions are like assholes and everyone has one. I personally have never had someone give me cold chills, song after song like he has. Aaron lewis is just a stand-a-lone musician. Also, just because I like to brag... he was born in my home state

  • @GuitarFan102 Your home state better have a fucking statue for him. :D

  • @222nv I agree!!! only chosen vocalist has it. . . .I believe Dishwalla has it too :D

  • @222nv listen to Robin Gibb he has a awesome emotional voice but agree Aaron does too

  • Great song !

  • @222nv i think your opinion should be fact because many agree

  • why is this not on mobile...

  • "the illusion of progress," the story of my 21-yr long life so far

  • "Like a wheel that keeps turning"

man i fucking love that :D!

  • This

    and Please from Chapter V

    are the best

  • @222nv My opinion is Layne Staley. This guy isn't too bad though.

  • @222nv thats an opinion that will always remain a fact. He definitley has the best emotional voice hands down.

  • What effects do they use in the song ?

  • I love staind even thier new stuff. I can always find a song that i can relates to me.

  • This band did the soundtrack to mine and my husband's relationship - we'd listen to their albums over and over in the early days.

  • I love that Staind can change the music style from where they began, and it's still just as amazing. They did it flawlessly.

  • so F good,pozz iz Bihacaaa.....

  • staind rocks!!!!! have stood the test of time, and are still great!!!

  • This song helps me when im in a moment/situation that i want out of.

  • Sooo totally agree. It's about change and moving onto the better things in life. Getting over the crap that happened to you, and forgiving the people that made a negative impact on ur life. Holding onto the past wud prevent u frm being happy :) You shud never forget it tho, cuz lookin back can be helpful, it can shape the person who are now, today...it pushes u to be better...but sadly, sum things dnt change, they stick with u forever, and ppl dnt heal.

    Staind <3 always

  • Even if they've changed their first style I love this guys. Sadness, rage and love makes them so fucking rock!

  • My favorite song off the new album. Amazing album.

  • awesome band

  • love staind, this is the best song of one of their best albums. they have great lyrics too

  • i love stained there awesome!!!!!!!! add me everyone n ill subscribe to u if u subscibe to me,, i just started this a few days ago

  • Who cares if groups change their music...they write music according to what they feel is right. By changing their music they im sure have attracted fans who didnt really like them before. I personally like their old music and the new. Some people dont like change and thinks everything should be the way they want it.

  • @222nv

    nice opinion

  • Pretty sick song, I like it!

  • Not to get off topic, this new Staind CD can not compare to the rest of their material.

  • meh i respectfully disagree staind is just evolving as a band i love them regardless

  • Usually I don't partake in leaving these comments however, St. Anger did not have any varied drumming styles than the rest of their material. The only thing that was different was the sound of his snare (he didn't engage his actual snares on the bottom of the drum). Coming for a life-long musician's point of view, while many disagreed with the composition of the songs, portrayed by St. Anger, much of the music is ultimately the same. Still heavy and brutal, fast and genius.

  • ötima música!

  • the vocal remembers me serj tankian

  • St. Anger was a horrible album, it was wayyy off from metallica's old album's, no solo's different drumming style, terrible..

Linkin Park isnt emo they are the shit, their is a difference, plus they are becoming pop

  • @Curses114 They aren't becoming pop, they most recent album was just different, many bands like to expand their genre, it makes them more famous

  • @StrikingwithImpact Right but in doing so they lose their original fan base, i still like linkin park, but i would much rather listen to songs like, Faint, Forgotten, and Behind your lies, then Songs that came out in M2M that were mostly Mainstream

  • @Curses114 Their newest song is "New Divide", have you looked into it? It's very much like their old productions, and many say it's even better

  • @Curses114

    linkin parks new shit sucks!

  • ya its not as good as b4, but it is still better than most of the stuff out there

  • LP's old school songs were the best this new shit is not them its bull shit

  • @ZOMGsound Werd

I like some of there new music, i wont deny it, some of their new shit is good, but i prefer the old stuff

  • sounds sorta like seether gr8 music

  • I heard that St. Anger was the greatest metallica album of all time, what do you guys think?

Btw, Linkin Park aren't emo, that shit is so cash.

  • st anger is when Metallica started to suck man....their old stuff is way better then the new thats why just like trivium they only play their old stuff and rarely a new song.

  • Dude Load and Reload were shitty also.

  • Not the album as much....But St Anger is one awesome song

  • Staind has to be one of the best bands in the world. he has just an incredible voice :D this band is just AMAZING!

  • i want to marry..his voice.

  • Great song

  • I like his voice :)

  • yes, Aaron's voice is very powerful ~

  • why are all the Staind videos filled with comment trolls?

Just listen to the music people. It's good.

  • Whether you love or hate isn't important. It's the thing - use them for different things.

  • ok everyone stop arguing. what is wrong with u all enjoy the song. politics are not important, we shouldnt have laws, rules etc....

we r treated like slaves. live ur liffe the way yuo want love dont hate, do the opposite of what every brainwashed person is and u will die a much more satisfied person :)

  • i just love staind <3

  • PRECIOUS SONG!

    PRECIOSA CANCION!

  • ummmmmmmmm instead of degrading into a political debate which most of these fags on this video have, i just wanna say staind is totally amazing and this cd is underrated and this song along with so many rocks my fuckin socks off. listen to this shit daily.

  • I agree with you in all aspects of your comment.

  • "rocks my socks off" +1

  • this is what staind is about

  • thers an argument on like every video on youtube now!

  • yeah but some of them are funny lolz

  • why is it that theres always trashy comments o ngood videos =/

  • cause there's always some people with bad musical taste sadly :(

  • i cant help but speak up about it i just believe if you cant think of something kind to say then dont say anything at all

i mean seriously i would like someone to give me a good reason to have an argument over the internet =/

  • Yeah i total agree with you (Y) <-- thumbs up lol

  • lol yay thumbs x]

  • Debut album is the best. This band has done many cool songs. But the debut is the debut.

  • sorta sounds like 10 years' style... i like it

  • I love Staind sure theyve changed up their style but 1st off all their songs are awesome 2nd their not like most bands that never grow up and stick with one style until all their songs begin to sound the same

  • your special

  • LMAO What??!! Donkeys???

    haha u r special

  • aight thats coo...

  • ur an idiot dude

  • uh huh , thats right.

    I'M the idiot.

    what a cock

only america produces arrogant pricks like you

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha now i am part of this conversation!!!! :D

  • wrong most production has china, america just wana earn money.....

  • america..... is fucked up.... they have no production of money... they constantly spiral downward into debt so get your facts straight before you post some stuff

  • you don't know shit, the U.S. has the greatest GNP than any country, even amidst a recession.

  • shut up asshole

  • wtf!?!?!?! go to a different video and post that shit, people come to music to get away from political debates and ur just being a complete asshole and mmm318 don't argue back and feed his argument anymore all i can say to greatmilenko is FUCK YOU

  • rome had an excellent form of government, read up, the military wasnt everything, if it was why would the city still remain thousands of years later lol

  • WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THIS VIDEO ANYWAYS?!!!!!!? get a life.

  • Comment removed

  • out of all the staind cds there isnt, this cd is better than that cd. all of stainds are better than all by how staind puts his emotions into his music, whereas most artists are only out there to make money. staind actually makes you feel something with his music. and ive been a fan since the very first cd ^.~

  • i love this album and their other great 1 Break the Cycle the most

  • that beacon guy needs to stfu

staind can retire when they're fuckin dead and gone

the world needs good music, especially now. feel fortunate stainds there to make it.

    n00b

  • no way should they rtire i think all apart from their 1st albumn r brilliant their new album is great i listen 2 it all the time!!!!

  • I still say Tormented is the best record. It was the one record that came entirely out of their pocket, and wasn't ridiculously mass produced for radio. How do you get away from songs like 4 Walls, Come Again, and the original raw version of Mudshuvel? By far their best, especially given it was an independent record. 5,000.00 to write a record is piss for most bands. God the equipment was more.

  • Good point, $5,000 definitely isn't much. Considering Guns 'N Roses' Chinese Democracy took something like $18 Million to develop. That's insane.

  • do it then

  • this should have been the title track for "break the cycle"...it represnts everything "breaking a cycle" stands for, everything always repeating like a wheel, trying to break away from that, the lyrics are incredible

  • And for the record if you pay attention, the only difference IS tge fact that they are a little softer. If u listen to Aaron's lyrics absolutely Nothing has changed since they came out. the song 'for you' got me into this band, but if i just found out about them today, 'break away' would have done it.

  • Yes it absolutely would.

  • Compared to dysfunction yeah they've changed. but what about if u compare this CD to 'break the cycle' the only song that was really screamo was 'cant believe' and that CD came out in 2001-02. Their only CD that was really hardcore in my opinion was dysfunction....and that was because of 'mudshovel'.

  • I don't think Tormented is their best. It was probably their heaviest, but their sound wasn't quite matured yet. Dysfunction was their truly heavy AND talentful album.

  • Ill agree with that. I was just saying that tormented was their heaviest. which it is. But Dysfunction is their best album.

  • I agree completely.

  • That little mechanical sounding part after the chorus is trippy!

  • oro ur a fucken idiot staind has changed alot their old music they talked about heroine and suicide infact tormented was a cd based on suicide...this is based on I dono cause i stop listening so plz stfu u know nothing about staind fagit.

  • thank god someone said it. but all their stuff is awesome!

  • Just think of it as Staind maturing as a band.

  • I love this band!

  • They've gotten a lot softer, but they are still a damn good band, with lots of talent unlike some of the other crap out there.

  • staind never change they keep on making a brilliant song from their first album until now they really rocks...keep on supporting a good band like STAIND

  • Good band?

    Understatement!!! =]

  • staind never change they keep on making a brilliant song from their first album until now they really rocks...keep on supporting a good band like STAIND

  • every band changes eventuly,to keep in flow,i mean yuo dont wanna hear the same stuff over and over again do you? probly not thats why bands change in some albums,to reach out to other people so they will like them to,i mean its jsut what every band has to do at some point

  • but what about metallica they are still the same as they were 25 years ago whit a coupel speed bumps but they always come back to the old style thats my thing, good things that work last!!!!

  • Problem with that theory is that Metallica's new stuff is terrible.

  • I'm gonna agree with poesdoos, it's totally different to their past albums, I would say it's a lot softer

  • that was HOT

  • freakin sweet song 5/5

  • gr8 songs n lyrics I LOVE THIS ALBUM

    WELL DONE!!!! <3

  • this is one of the few really good songs on this cd, personally i think the last one was better, its gotten to soft

  • not a huge fan but this is at least better than the repetitive stuff of theirs that they play on the radio

  • The stuff they play on the radio usually isn't a very good representation of the rest of their songs.

  • when there last album came out and they played right here waiting thats what got me into them in the first place

  • Staind is such an awesome band!!!

lots of talent in the band!!!

  • this is deff one of my favorites from the new album

  • You really don't know what pop is then.

  • omg you dont now music then lolz

  • most band that have been around for a while have at least one bad album. take metallica's

    reload album for example

  • i dont think thy have a bad album just differnt

  • u think so? i really don't think mettalcia makes a good punk rock band like they were trying. take the song unforgiven 2 for example. and the n listen too the first one. whats better? actually, that was a bad example because thats an opinion question so neva mind on that.

  • thank u !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • try saint anger

  • ... Pop? 4real?

Kill yourself if you're seriously calling them POP.

  • ...they are. pop-ular music. designed for radio.

  • staind and aaron lewis of staind needed a different album every band does is shows that they can do other style this whole problem on if this new album is good or not is the same argument about linkin park and there new stuff its just showing that they can do other styles

  • I dont know bout everyone else but this album might be very different but its gonna rock on a whole different level, cant wait to get the album...and this song is one of the heaviest on the album...oh and does anyone else think that jonathan davis comes to mind when u hear aaron say "BREAK AWAY" in the chorus? I know he isnt in the song it just sounds influenced maybe.

  • i do hear a little Jonathan Davis in Aarons voice. In this album, it sounds like Aarons voice has changed a bit. But yeah..i do hear some JD in him when he says "BREAKAWAY!!"

  • amazing

  • Favorite. Fucking outstanding. I love it I love I Love it.

  • he could scream in this song but its still pretty heavy musically

  • he doesn't scream but when says "break away" at the end of the chorus, he uses what sounds like a guttural yell..like that of Jon Davis..while not as intense as a loud scream, it still packs a good punch imo

  • ya jus lik i said its alot lik JD

  • I agree indeed..and let me say, I think it flat out rocks

  • this song is so fucking powerful

  • this song is fucking great a little back to there roots
