She is of East Indian decent, and everyone knows that the Indian culture puts a huge amount of pride and adoration on fair skin. Have you even watched a Bollywood film? NONE of the main actors are ever dark or of a brown shade. They are always extremely fair, or even pale. Her culture is one of the MAIN cultures to obsess over fair skin. She knows this.

i think they are sending out the message a bit bad. but people should be able to lighten their skin if they want. no one complains when someone light goes to tan. and they have it so easy too.
