  • I remember waking up during the shaking, i thought it was the BIG ONE that is supposed to hit in Missouri and tennessee

  • You're so calm, I think if it was me I would be freaking out! I live in Ohio, near the WV border & I know we have a faultline nearby. It is really scarey to know this could happen anytime!

  • The only thing I did was got up and looked outside to see if a helicopter was near our house. Then I went back inside, talked to my brother, and we concluded we had just had an earthquake. However,my first thought was that I was having some kind of attack or something or was losing it maybe. My second thought was helicopter. It was not until I talked with my brother that the idea of earthquake came up. It was scary though. I just did not panic.

  • no, nobody get hurt, and almost no damage, just in a few schools, but we are used to earthquakes, my city its located in the border of california

  • I am so glad to hear that nobody got hurt. Of course I would be happier if a way could be found to stop the quakes. Unfortunately, man has not achieved that level of technology.

  • i live in a city in mexico, named Mexicali, in february we experienced more than 800 earthquakes in 2 weeks, 7 of them were 5.0-5.5

the rest are about 4.0-4.5 and 3 and below

  • Your city must have sustained a lot of damage then. Did anyone get hurt?:-/

  • its going to get worse buddy, i live in st.louis and we are going to get some bad shit from now till 2012, get alot of food and water look up nibiru and tell me what you think,,,god bless us all

  • I do believe I will do that as soon as possible because I believe America is in for a lot of different kinds of troubles. However, I do believe that God's people will be blessed through it all. Take care.

  • I live in Vincennes, Indiana. Were about 40 minutes away from the point of origin. It woke up everyone in my house. There was a loud crack and then it shook for about 45 sec. We had another one last night at about 2 am. it was a 4.6 I'm wondering if this isn't a build up to something bigger?

  • Oh my God. You guys have experienced two earthquakes in less than a week. I am certain nothing was felt in St. Louis since I was definitely still up at 2 a.m. last night. Now that is scary.I am wondering the same thing now. All I can do is pray it is not so. God forbid.

  • They say it was the Wabash Fault a northern extension of the New Madrid Fault.

  • I have never heard of that fault though I have heard of the New Madrid fault in Missouri.

  • im in south county

  • Yeah, never lived through one (awake) until now. I was headed to the restroom and I heard a grocery bag ruffel and I thought some one was breaking in! Then I started swaying back and forth. It was weird. I didnt think nothing of it so I went back to bed and woke up to the tv. saying we had a 5.4 earthquake.

  • 5.4? It was only 5.2 in St. Louis. You must be very close to the point of origin of the quake in Illinois. Correct?

  • I know it's strange for guys out there in the Midwest to get earthquakes. For me being a Cali, we are used to them a lot lol. Do you know what fault the quake occured?

  • I don't know why everyone keeps saying Missouri. It was the Wabash Fault near West Salem, Illinois. Which is near Evansville, Indiana.

  • lol i was up 2 my dog had woke me up befor the earthquake

  • Yeah, dogs are amazing. They can sense disease in your body and know things are going to hit before they hit. Their senses are so much sharper than ours. Compared to theirs, our senses are dull.

  • the earthquake did not originate in Missouri, it originated in Illinois where there was a fault in the tectonic plate

  • Thanks for letting me know. Even the article I read did not say exactly where the earthquake started. What was it in Illinois? 5.4? 5.6?

  • They're saying 5.2 now and the aftershock @ 10:15 am was a 4.5. They're not sure if we're over it yet.

  • Yes,I have heard 5.2 as well. If the aftershock was as strong as the earthquake it might have woken me up. Maybe. I hope there are no more aftershocks or that the tectonic plates have settled in the Illinois fault.

  • im 12 and my bed was moving across the floor this morning it scared the shit out of me it was at 10:00 that an after shock happened i will post a response of my expireence

  • by the way it was a 5.4

  • Thanks for the info. Have not peeped the news yet.

  • I just read that it was a 5.2 in St. Louis and was centered 130 miles away from there. So,it definitely originated in my state,Missouri.

  • the after shock was 4. something

    i was in it

    it was pretty strange

    nice vid by the way

  • Yeah, the original quake was 5.2 in St. Louis so the aftershock would have definitely been less strong. Strange and scary. Thanks.

  • I just wish I had turned on my web cam when it was happening but I was too scared and worried to think about that. Guess I am not quite reporter material.:-P

  • i felt it - and felt the after shock around 10am this morning too - starting to freak out
