The texture you put into your music is absolutely amazing, I guess why I love it so much though is it reminds me of my own style of playing which is very very similar. Keep doing what your doing man, your great at it
This is sort of feel-good music that never gets TOO sweet. If only Erik was a film maker as well I'd might actually pay to go to the cinema. Do prefer this live over the studio version, if only the audience knew how and when not to clap :P
its a carbon fiber guitar, brand: rainsong JM1000. It weighs zero and is strong like hell. Played on it yesterday, its not very soulful if you dont use an amp, but if you do plugg it in, it sounds marvelous ;)
Watching this guy play both online and live brought me to write my own songs in this style, and even to cover this one, let me know what you think about it!
I find learning other peoples songs a chore!! I cant stand it. I love listening to the songs but would love to use them as inspiration instead. I prefer writing my own stuff but that is limiting my chops as I am writing stuff in my skill level. Will strict guitar exercises help bring my chops up to speed?
Hey, I work for a college radio station, would you be interested in doing a small interview? I run an alternative and classic rock show where we like to highlight real musicianship.
@Scholzii94 what ? thats the best feeling ever (atleast i think so), when you drag your audience into your vibration. when you feel it all comes together, and others are joining in, man the good feeling you get then :)
@Scholzii94 they're just clapping to his guitar beat...i mean i find myself moving to the same beat as the one they're clapping imo they just add to the atmosphere lol
can you here the percussion? can't believe someone would ask that kind of question when there's a percussive guitarists playing, maybe it's just me...lol
@Scholzii94 I disagree, I think it added to the atmosphere. The song has an upbeat, festive vibe to me and the audience clapping to the beat only adds to that.
@hjalle10 Composite Acoustic. Their guitars are made entirely out of graphite and include a microphone inside the guitar in addition to a piezo pick-up. It's a combination of these two (which you can blend via the onboard controls) that give it such a rich sound.
@5stringdriver I can testify to this. I recently won a Rainsong JM1000, the same model as Erik, and it beats the shit out of any other acoustic I've played on. If I find the right guitar I may be convinced to get another wooden one, but for now, carbon fibre all the way
I actually kind of like that they are clapping. It's a very, very steady beat and it's very prominent and that they make it even more prominent just makes the song stronger. If you notice they stop clapping when the song calms down and the beat isn't that strong anymore. It adds emphasis and it's good. You're hardly a moron for getting into the music and feeling it.
How big are you dude? That guitar looks huge! You're amazing nonetheless. Keep playing and thanks for sharing. Come to the panhandle of Florida sometime.
Erik, do you have stage fright? I'm curious because it seems like you're so comfortable with your head hung low and cradled next to your box. You're an amazing musician, man.
slt eric vraiment ecxelent arrangement ,tres bonne technique ,exelent feeling .je crois que tu peux interpreter n'importe quelle chanson mais c difficile pour que qlq t'interprete . bonne continuation .
amazing technique, antoine defour and guys are incredible too, but theres just something extra buildin in what you do. I dont even wanna know how many years it took to make rythm work together with hammer on
clapping? Heck, I would have been dancing :-D To watch this is... watching someone who is totally involved-- not much differentiation between the absolutely glorious connection between body/mind/music, and it is wonderful to see. Would love to attend a performance.
I'd usually agree with the clapping comment, it's horrible when the audience drown at the music but he seems to really enjoy the participation of the crowd.
hm.. are you sure it's just 3k? I mean... of course it's a lot of money, but if you look at other professional instruments (violins, flutes, not even starting with pianos), a lot of them are 20k upwards.
It's about the tonality and musicianship, the clarity and the crystalline sound he extracts from the instrument. It's about a man who uses that guitar better than most people use their eyes or hands, or lungs. What's special is that less than 5% of the population have that kind of gift of music.
I am normally a huge fan of percussion style rhythm tapping, in this particular piece I find it distracting.
The overall structure and composure, tonality, and uniqueness is fantastic and very interesting to listen to. With just the right amount of subtle nuances that make it something a little different every time you listen to it. Just would like to hear a clean (no tapping percussion) version.
indeed it is by far. sometimes its the room and the atmosphere that makes the song. eriks not got a crowds influence and emotion in a studio. listen to the bit 53 seconds through. sounds so much more emotive!
It´s not about the dificulty, it´s about feeling the music... Excelent melody, simply pure and peaceful...it´s a state of mind............ Bring it Erik
