  • Chicks were butch back then.

  • I love this.

  • that was excellent. loved it.

  • Pretty funny stuff....I love the Andrews Sisters. I'm a conservative guy but I do have a sense of humor.

  • if you want to shake my ---- stick your dick right out and shout gimme some skin - my friend. smack it, whack it, let your hand rotate, show it, blow it......................... put it in your pocket??!?!?

  • I can't believe the trashy songs people are singing these days! Whatever happened to songs about platonic relationships?

  • Awesome, totally awesome. And this is coming from a very conservative guy.

  • I expected to be angry but I like it. Plus I'm sure the sisters would appreciate the continued revival of interest in their music.

  • 666 LIKES! DONT CHANGE IT!

  • im not a sure how i feel about the moaning...but i really dig the idea. you should do electro swing.

  • Geekmaster, please get over yourself.

  • ah ha ha ha! Thank you surgewakefield!

  • nice video I saw the movie in the navy it was funny.

  • Man I like this.

  • LOL!!!

  • Where are you? I need to hire you for this mix---I just need you to make it appropriate for kids. HOw can I get in touch with you?

  • go to StellarChi for fun blues videos ...

  • I really love this, I tried to click your link to hear your other stuff but it was just a load of spam and pop ups. You should definatley upload some more, I would listen to them and I'm sure others would too.

  • I feel those unnecessary added technical effects disparages The Andrews Sisters performance. When I hear great singers such as The Andrews Sisters, The Mills Bros, Boswell Sisters, which all were recorded decades before I was born, I want to hear un0adulterated singing with the least amount of instruments accompanied, because great singing needs no accompaniment. To me, overdubbed gimmicks destroy music.

  • @allaboutrecords - Well, you can't please anyone.

  • @allaboutrecords The original versions can easily be found here on youtube. It is made clear at the beginning of the video that it is an altered version of the original. If the Andrew sisters were around today and just starting out in music. They could easily do this song. They were always looking to do something not already being done.

  • this is freaking *amazing*...i only wish there were a version w/o the word "dick"...can't really blaze this one loudly and proudly. and i would. i really, really would.

  • This is great! And Im a huge fan of the Andrews sisters too!

  • LOL yeh bro it's funny. Thanks for ya humour. But your abilities are serious bro.

  • These girls were pin-ups for many soldiers and my pappy would say "if he could'a, he would'a"., I'm sure he had many a fantasy lol. So well done bro. All respects to the sisters, they were beautiful girls.

  • Bro when I heard first it I had to play it again. I grew up listening to these gals on my mothers 78's. You've got a talent for sure and I'd like to hear more. I think if the sisters were alive now they'd be laughing along with you. They changed with the times and toyed with risque themes like in the song Rum and Coca Cola.

  • This is disgusting.. What made you think it was a good idea to take GOOD music and try to modernize it? Of all the things you could have done with it, you add moaning sounds and completely disgrace the Andrews Sisters.. Might as well make a hiphop remix of the Passion of the Christ. Some people just have no idea when to stop..

  • @GeekMaster6000 Get over it man...it's good music and fun all around.

  • The original song itself is indeed awesome but for a hip hop mix it is world's ahead of what is out there now!

  • Hip Hop, Raggae, Rap and all this distorsions of the music by it self is degrading is only noise with a beat. Digusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love it!!!!

  • Blasphemy!

  • Hey man this is done so well it could be used professionally. Keep it up dude. I love the Andrew Sisters and I don't see what all the fuss is about this mix. Its catchy, humours, up to date and brings the sound of the sisters to a new generation. I love the way you sexed them up in this too. Not a damn thing wrong with that. Grammy and Grandpappy had it going on in those days too. That's how we got here.

  • loook.. Thats OLDSKOOL!

  • That Was Great Iv Listened to it more than 100 Times And Still Cant Help Replaying Over And Over Again ITS THAT GOOD !

  • Nice synchronization and timing with the film. I enjoyed it!

  • I love it's!

  • stick ur d*** right out and shout!? heyyy thats not the words! LOL good job love it! Catchy and funny!

  • Very creative! Thanks for putting a new spin on a great old song. Any way to keep the Andrews Sisters alive is great for me, including Christina Aguilera's "Candy Man" which uses the same rhythm as "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B." She evens poses as all three girls, Patty, Maxene and LaVerne!

  • I am very pleased to tell you that my mother, who is a teacher, played this video for all of her 7th and 8th grade students today, and they loved it! I think you're going to help re-popularize the Andrews Sisters with a whole new generation!

  • I think this is an awesome tribute!

  • I love it.

  • I liked it overall (thanks), but the video editing is great.

  • I like the remix. Just put JayZ, Mike Jones, or any of those rappers to rap a little in this song...See how it becomes a hit lol. They recycle music anyway.

  • what are those instruments you used called?

  • @smileykillz Korg EMX-1 Electribe, Roland Fantom, and Cubase. : )

  • @surgewakefield Nice synchronization and timing with the film. I enjoyed it!

I remember that film when I was a kid.

  • Nah, unimpressed I'm afraid!

  • I just love the Andrews Sisters-and NOW I LOVE YOU TOO! Thanks! That was wonderful! I subscribed and wish you much happiness in life and music mixing.

  • Awesome work man, you got skills!

  • Ok, I now have to listen to this song atleast once a day.

    Fantastic!

  • This was a great video!!

  • wow...nice job!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lmao xD

  • I find it really funny when people think sex wasn't invinted until about 10 or 20 yrs ago....

  • I see people writing how those days were innocent, well, I read one of the past comments and actually listened to Bessie Smith and a song of hers was just as raunchy as this remix! I'm a fan of "Mommie Dearest" and "Margo Channing" and I've read some biographies of them, and you won't believe what they do behind closed doors, well people shouldn't know that in public anyways.

Just wondering if you could make another Andrews Sisters Remix... if you can't just tell me, I understand.

  • The first time I saw this I was so totally pissed (I just became an Andrews Sisters fan that day), but I found myself listening to it over and over again, I think I've listened to this around 15 or more times. I can't help but bobbing my head with this song! Everytime I listen to the actual "Gimme Some Skin, My Friend" the wrong lyrics come up in my mind. I have to say that this is the best remix I've ever heard in my life. Sorry I have to have a part 2 for a comment, 27 more characters left!

  • More liberties were taken in 1940's and before withoput thinking that it would hurt anyone group or person. I don't think the Andrew Sisters would have intended to hurt anybody. All but one has died.

  • I was bobing my head until i read all the comments. I think the mix is kinda cool. I'm sending this to my Sister. Good job!!!

  • You have ruined this song.

  • Stick your dick right out and shout??

  • Horrible.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • This is pretty tight.

I'm a fan of the sisters, and this is a pretty entertaining and nifty thing you've done with their voices. ;)

    Well done!

  • theres some seriously heavy sexual innuendo in this here video

  • XD XD XD

  • Ferhizzle ma nizzle. xD

  • so so so, i little to much knob nonsense for me

  • definitely sounds kind of hip-hoppy.

  • this is brilliant! i love the remix. please make more of these 40's mixes updated. you are so talented.

  • Man, these gals could MOVE. Very sexy in their own way. Give 'em credit.

  • you have completely ruined this song.

  • its sound wrong

  • this would've been so awesome, if it wasnt so sexualized.

  • "Dear Lord! They're making sexual references!"...if that thought crossed your mind, how do you think you came into existence? sex is natural. stop whining and enjoy the remix. nice vid btw! looks like you put some effort into this

  • This never gets old. Let's get some more of the same!

  • Today , most HIGH SCHOOL kids have already lost their virginity! And also, back in the 40s, there was such thing as a GOOD ROMANCE MOVIE that DIDN'T include a sex scene. I challenge anyone to find a modern, popular romance movie that is intended for mature audiences that DOSN'T have a sex scene in it!!! The worlds view of sex has CHANGED IMMENSLY

  • OMG I LOVE THIS!

  • I got something they can smack and wack and jack!!

  • love this sonq and i dont think they were mockinq black ppl

  • Hey this is Cool!!

  • i just now realized tht song is sexual

  • Me and my friend are obsessed with this song! Lol!

  • you are the man!!! awesome!

  • wow! this one caught me off guard. Dang good one

  • I don't think they were mocking... more like an ode to Harlem lingo... not much different than when someone says "fo shizzle", "hella", "eh" or any other phrase that might be particular to a certain location or demographic. peace.

  • @surgewakefield high five!

  • @mzqtpie83

Obviously you didn't know the time frame.

  • @mzqtpie83 (Part 1) I agree with surgewakefield. I think the songwriter was trying to express this is the new craze. If you watch the end of the video, all the young folks are dancing and doing it.

(I have to separate my response, I have to limit the amount of words here to post.)

  • @CatsEyes1717 (Part 2) It appears degrading because the person who posted this, with the background voices makes it appear degrading.

Watch this video, and see the end, how the young folks are having fun with this new "style" of handshaking. (cont'd...)

  • @CatsEyes1717 (Part 3) This style spread and was popular to everyone in the mid 1960s to early/mid 1970s.

(I'll try to post it above, it won't post in the response)

  • @mzqtpie83 I'm trying to express the original video of this song in my response, not this one that has been edited.

  • @mzqtpie83

People weren't overly PC back in't day...

  • Speaking of un-imaginative, do you really think you're the first to leave a comment like that? o_O Click the download link in the description and you can hear some of my "own stuff" ; ) peace.

  • @surgewakefield man you sure have a way with words XD.i don't know...something makes me keep coming back to your version of this song,i think it sounds great

  • @ForAnimalsSake agreed, agreed.

  • @ForAnimalsSake why don't you stop trolling and actually do something yourself. original or not, art for art's sake!

  • you need your bassline to drop more but its damn near there!!! love where your taking it

  • wow, i frickin luv it! lol make more

  • Awesome!!!

  • this is awesome! u have an amazing & creative ear! keep up the good worK!

  • I love the Andrew Sisters and I thought that was well-funny. You gotta do something with your time! They kick arse over the Pussycat Dolls ;)

  • you ruined it. why can't people leave good music the way it was. stop tryin to make it better in your eyes. it only sound like crap when ya do.

  • pore andrews sisters :P

  • wooooooooow awsome!!!!so catchy!!!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • haha!!! yeah, i'm pretty positive that they had more fun than we'd ever know back then as well. :)

  • really cool... I loved!!

  • that was dope! I was feelin it!!!

  • I agree with sleepingpill000. this is all just for play, humor, good fun, whatever. in fact, the Andrew sisters would probably think this was funny, as opposed to being offended.

  • dude, this is a sweet remix. i dig.

  • I hate it when people make a good song dirty! Nice remixing, but do you have to ruin it with perversity?!

  • as if the original rum and coca cola by the andrews sisters was all innocent and that. c'mon. get off your high horse. these previous generations had more fun than we'll ever know.

  • @sleepingpill000

    Exactly!

See: Butcher Pete by Roy Brown, The Best Things Happen When You're Dancing by Danny Kaye, any other song by the Andrews Sisters, and the countless (and hilarious"adult" records that were released. The 40's were a party, they just covered it up more with metaphors. This song is just as dirty without the remixing.. seriously.. "let your hand rotate", "skin me papa skin me".. it was perverse already.

  • Comment removed

  • shhhhhh. the andrews sisters stock an trade was innuendo

  • I am slightly offended but I can't stop watching it...It is so catchy!

  • i love thiis!!

  • bahahahahahahaha

  • get gran movin to this one

  • Great fun ;-)

    Thanks for sharing

  • dude you are still #1.

  • good remix ...nice keep it up

  • This mix is very good. I have not been able to stop watching it. Yeah, it's an insult to the memory of the Andrews Sisters with some of the lyrics, but that being said...it rocks.

  • Ok I'm pretty sure I haven't listened to Give me some Skin earlier on today, but with that being said, this mix isn't good.

  • they fucked to.

  • herlem respect my straight up dawg

  • you're so lame...

  • Probably. But I'm not infringing anybody's copyright. Are you?

I still rate the mix, that's 100% brilliant. Just a shame it was let down for a cheap and childish giggle. That's the sad bit.

  • stick ur dick right out n shout, gimme some skin, hop in, smack it whack it?? wtf??

  • you're wack!

  • what is with everyone going on about the "innocence" of that era? Listen to some of the songs from the 20s up to the 40s and I think you'll find you're underestimating the time. There was some very risque stuff back then, even by today's standards. Today's generation didn't invent sex, contrary to the belief of you lot.

  • AGREE with you 100%...The Andrews Sisters' "Rum and Coca Cola," was about our G.I.'s and the prostitutes overseas...and everyone knew it...even my father...

  • I think that's what they mean when they say "working for the Yankee dollar" at the end of the chorus.

But one thing that is lacking today completely is CLASS. A lot can be forgiven if naughty stuff is done with class, but if it's naughty AND vulgar like 99% of entertainment today, then it can't be forgiven.

  • There were two of the "sustas," songs that they got in a wee bit of trouble about...and I believe that they truly didn't know until the reviews came out. In 1974 Maxene and Patty were on broadway; with Patty telling the "service men," in the play about the dangers of VD in a song called: "The Good Time Girl," with the lyric: "Although she looks like Venus, she may not be the cleanest!" Can't add anything to that!

  • It always cracks me up when people get offended at stuff like this. I really like what you did with this song...!! of course, I too am a huge fan of the stuff that came out of the 1920's through the 1940's, and I always hate it when people get their panties in a bunch about the "innocence" of that era... INNOCENCE? Check out a few songs by Bessie Smith... Women have always had power... I personally like it when a "friend" gives me some skin! -- AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR THE AWESOME REMIX!

  • AGREE 100%

  • DOPEE can u send me this song

  • This is the jaunt!! The Jive Bunny folks will want pirate this but nothing doing!! Do your thing!!! Thanks for posting!!

  • Am not sure the change in "stick your 'hand' right out and shout...to....."stick your dick right out and shout..." as I think that kind of takes away from the era, the time and the innocence of that time.

  • can i find this on itunes???

  • God damn, this song is bomb. It's like reeses peanut butter cups, my favourite things, andrews sisters with hip hop.

    Delicious.

  • women still don't have rights.... delicious

  • Thats sum real gangsta shit!

    ^^

  • Love it. I couldn't find it again for awhile - glad it's back.

  • Oh...my...god....THIS IS AWESOME~!!! haha =D

  • The simple dumbing-down-sound-effects R not sophisticated. Substituting "dick" is not only tasteless; it totally trashes what these classy stars stood for in an era that would not have tolerated it - with good reason. Said in 1 post: "Patty would love this video." I have chatted with Patty in past years & know she would be both offended & humiliated by this. So if U R thoughtful, Mr. Producer, please consider folks' feelings more in the future.

  • "in an era that would not have tolerated it" - I'm sure that's why Rum and Cola, which was about drinking and prostitution, was such a smash hit.

  • patty had a sense of humour and would understand this i hope.

it's not being disrespectful to the andrews sisters, it's giving them exposure to ppl who otherwise wouldnt know who they were.

i was a fan of the andrews sisters before seeing this, and prefer the original but patty wouldnt care about this, seriously.

btw, i know maxene claims they were naive but:

rum and coca cola and hold tight? explain.

  • Well, I'm pretty sure any memory of the Andrews Sisters may be gone within 100 years. I mean, our culture puts a huge emphasis on celebrity, and fame can last a long time, but for most people, even the most famous of their time, 100 years is asking a lot. And 200 years, man...I'm not sure if even Elvis and the Beatles will be known by then.

  • no they will still be known in 100 years (they are too forgotten now though). they were popular and influential at the time of WW2 and worked with other legends such as bing crosby and les paul. they wont be forgotten by everyone for those reasons alone. they also had one of the greatest songs in music history. the beatles and elvis will definitely be known. even in 400 years. they will never be forgotten. u know mozart dont you? beethoven? van gogh? monet? it's the same thing.

  • There's a certain limit to how many celebrities of different time periods can be household names. When a new one comes in, an old one goes out. Nothing lasts forever, and very few things last a long time. Go to a public domain website and see how many songs are there from 1900 that nobody has ever heard of. And I'll bet those songs were known by everybody during their time. It's like Michael Phelps today. Name me the world's fastest swimmer in the year 1748.

  • im not saying they (the andrews sisters) will be a household name but they will be known by a fair few ppl.

the beatles and elvis hit such fame that they will NEVER be forgotten. as i say look at mozart and beethoven (and they were of a time of no audio or video).

we are already 70 years past the time of the andrews sisters and they are getting millions of views on a site dominated by teens and young adults so will another few years make a difference?

  • Watch the Discovery Channel series The Future Is Wild sometime. In 5 million years not one soul will be remembered. I don't care if it's Mozart, Elvis, whoever. I'm sure back in 5,000 BC there were people more famous than these guys who nobody knows now.

  • there were no substantial records back then though.

i know it wasnt 5000 bc but jesus was quite famous. some ppl from certain periods are remembered forever and elvis and the beatles (and maybe mj) are in that group.

u will immediately know michelangelo's david if u see it. wont u?

so why shouldnt that be the same with love me do or jailhouse rock. they are works which defined artistic periods.

  • Records only remain substantial when an effort is made to do maintenance and upkeep.

I would say there's a definite possibility Elvis OR the Beatles will be known 2000 years from now, but not both. They're simply too close together to both be remembered. Of course, a lot of Greek philosophers were contemporaries and more than one is remembered, so I could be wrong.

In the future and someone might sell 700 times more than the Beatles and Elvis combined, which could wipe out their memory.

  • but they were still talking about dating...which leads to words they would not have said but it has the same meaning

  • @hepcat2009 shut up you twat

  • this stuff rocks man! i can't stop listening it!

  • Great work! Congrats and thanks for sharing!

  • LOL @ 1:55

  • At 0:57 she does the Mashed Potato.

  • Giving 5 started in Geo. Washingtons day. During the revolutionary war each time a british soldier was killed the troops would gimmee 5's for good luck. They say it began with the slaves because each time a slave would escape to freedom they would do a gimmee 5 to congradulate.

  • "LIke they do it in Harlem"

Is this an early slumming reference?

  • I wasn't so sure of this at first. I love the Andrews Sisters. It really just grew and grew on me. And then I checked the original video and it make you appreciate this video all the more. Not only was it a brilliant concept just as importantly it was exceptionally well executed ,all the words, music, movements, beats, everything synced perfectly. It's fun, it's funny, it looks great, sounds great and you can dance to it!! What else do you want!?

  • Hahahahaha. Stick your dick right out.

  • AWESOME VIDEO

  • Have you sent it to Patty?

  • I don't know her (plus this one's a little more risque with the breathing so maybe i shouldn't ; ) . But I do think there needs to be an entire remix album for the Andrews Sisters. I'd love to work on something like that but don't have the contacts or licensing to. Maybe eventually...!
