Kenny rogers brings back the times when I was in my early 20s..I wasn't sure where I was going or where I had been..Where I had found my 1st true love....Kenny rogers is magnificent to say the least.
You've got that right!! This was about the time I began playing drums. The huge, larger than life drums, and snare drum sound that was five feet deep used to captivate me. I have an original LP from when it came out.
This song takes me back in Spring 1983 when I became the new Morning drive DJ @ Defiance, Ohio's Big 1280 WONW. I would read the 6am 'Buckeye News' and this would usually be the first song I would play in the Morning. I would play it a few hours later too. I cranked up the headphones and enjoyed for 3:55. Thanks Kenny for a hell of a record. David in Lincoln, Nebraska.
@DaveWollenberg This was played this past weekend on a replay of Casey Kasem's AT40 from June 11, 1983. It was in its second and last week in the Top 40 at #37.

This song brings back many memories as I was just 2 years out of high school.
Such wonderful music that quite frankly today doesn't exist...Feel blessed to live in the 70s and 80s where music had passion.
