Hi Kevin & Fisherman, I had a contingent of 5 elders come to my house once,. they were nicely dressed and spoke politely until we began to talk doctrine. Within ten minutes they were yelling at me, and were very angry. One tried to tell me that he understood the Greek because he was Greek. I told him that there was a big difference between classical Greek and Koine Greek and he became upset, and I started laughing. They got really upset then and ended up storming out of my place. I was amazed.

According to Trinitarian doctrine, to have the one divine nature is to be God, a person in the Godhead. "Before" means higher up in precedence. To come earlier in some sense. While Jesus' intention may have been to express Himself as the number one priority in God's plans (for God planned Abraham around Jesus, not the other way around), it doesn't mean Jesus was necessarily saying that He is better than Abraham. But as the answer to Abraham, He comes first.

@OneTruthFinder God, please open OneTruth's eyes. If God glorifies someone they do not now have the glory of God. It also says that people (the Gentiles) can glorify God (Romans 15:9). The "glory" in that verse in not to be understood in the same way as the "glory" of God as per Isaiah 42:8 & John 17:5. You must rightly divide the word of truth (2Tim. 2:15).

@55k3v1n You're reading in more presumptions. God glorified Jesus upon His resurrection. Raised a glorious body (Phil 3:21). Those who will be glorified (ie given eternal life) are already glorified to God. It's already real to God. God is outside our time and space. He's already at the end. You gotta look at this from God's perspective, not our own. If you and I are going to be raised unto eternal life, that means we already had it before the world was from God's perspective.
@OneTruthFinder God glorifying something is not the same as something having the glory of God, which Jesus had with God before the world was. God glorifies many things, but it still says in Isaiah 42:8 that He will not GIVE His glory to another. So glorifying does not equal giving His (the glory of God) to another. Or God must have lied in Isaiah 42:8??? Do you think God lies? Jesus returned to the full glory of God when He ascended back up to Heaven.

Rev13:8 - the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world. Same thing. Not adding any words at all. The Lamb wasn't actually slain in our reality until Jesus died on the cross.

Say if someone had 100% assurance that they will be raised unto eternal life. If that person said to you, "I have eternal life!" Would you look at it from your view, seeing a mortal man, and disagree? Or would you look at it from God's view, looking unto the sure certainty of eternal life that has already come to pass for God?
@OneTruthFinder There is no statement in Rev 13:8 that names have been written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, but that the Lamb was planned to be slain from this time. Once again things must be read using basic rules of grammar.

In regards to our time, God is at the beginning, in the present, and at the end all at the same time - not to mention He is also outside of time whilst He is also inside of time! @OneTruthFinder God is all-knowing, but attaining salvation is still based on freedom of will. Pre-recording the names in the book of life before people have actually made the choice to make Jesus their Lord and Savior would be a form of pre-programming. That would eliminate free will.

Furthermore, we don't actually have "free will." We have a will, but it is limited. You can't simply "free will" yourself to visit Mars. As much as it may be your will to go there, you're limited by other factors. We have a will, but it's not "free" to do everything.

Everybody knows that the Father is THE GOD. The Watchtowers Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures (under the Greek language) clearly tells us that The Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit are also THE GOD in John 20:28 and acts 5:3,4. The "DEFINITE ARTICLE is used in both of these passages, so it is clear that the three persons are THE ONE GOD in TRINITY, because there is only ONE GOD, AND THERE IS NO OTHER Isaiah 43:10; 44:6;45:21 46:9.

Hi Kevin & Fisherman, I had a contingent of 5 elders come to my house once,. they were nicely dressed and spoke politely until we began to talk doctrine. Within ten minutes they were yelling at me, and were very angry. One tried to tell me that he understood the Greek because he was Greek. I told him that there was a big difference between classical Greek and Koine Greek and he became upset, and I started laughing. They got really upset then and ended up storming out of my place. "Before" means higher up in precedence. To come earlier in some sense. While Jesus' intention may have been to express Himself as the number one priority in God's plans (for God planned Abraham around Jesus, not the other way around), it doesn't mean Jesus was necessarily saying that He is better than Abraham. But as the answer to Abraham, He comes first.

The "glory" in that verse in not to be understood in the same way as the "glory" of God as per Isaiah 42:8 & John 17:5. You must rightly divide the word of truth (2Tim. 2:15).

Those who will be glorified (ie given eternal life) are already glorified to God. It's already real to God. God is outside our time and space. He's already at the end. You gotta look at this from God's perspective, not our own. If you and I are going to be raised unto eternal life, that means we already had it before the world was from God's perspective.

God glorifies many things, but it still says in Isaiah 42:8 that He will not GIVE His glory to another. So glorifying does not equal giving His (the glory of God) to another. Or God must have lied in Isaiah 42:8??? Do you think God lies? Jesus returned to the full glory of God when He ascended back up to Heaven.

Rev13:8 - the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world. Same thing. Not adding any words at all. The Lamb wasn't actually slain in our reality until Jesus died on the cross.

Say if someone had 100% assurance that they will be raised unto eternal life. If that person said to you, "I have eternal life!" Furthermore, we don't actually have "free will." We have a will, but it is limited. You can't simply "free will" yourself to visit Mars. As much as it may be your will to go there, you're limited by other factors. We have a will, but it's not "free" to do everything.
