I agree - in 2 he represents James, but What if U are putting too much weight on protagonists mind rather than town ? Maybe In Homecoming, couse of Alexes crimes he is aweaken again ? Remember that in SH not everything is so strict ( ex. Why in SH2 we fight 2 PH ? whats the symbolism of two punishers ? )

Actually PH in Homecoming is NOT PH in Silent Hill 2.

They are entirely different characters who happen to look alike. And that's because Team Silent didn't make Homecoming. Most of the original team split up and moved onto other projects. Akira doesn't have much creative control anymore and was never really the primary writer for the games.

Pyramid Head showing up in the movie was exactly for the purpose of saying, "holy shit it's pyramid head." They didn't think they were making a 2nd movie, so they wanted to get him in there. He's iconic. Yeah he didn't really fit, but that wasn't the point. Not everything has to strictly adhere to some preconceived notion of a canon that nobody has even claimed exists other than a general fanbase. The rest of the monsters in that movie were symbolic of events happening in it. PH was the only one
