i prefer rowlf than dr. teeth. but every other music muppet rules!! they're ssssssssooooooooooo much better than some musician who are human beings today. by the way what daoe mayhem means?
Just imagine what would happen if someone came and told a producer that he wanted to do jazz numbers like this in a children's program... No chance today! But as a child, I learned from the Muppets that there is a world of music - a way of playing music that puts you in a special state of mind. If more children would experience this, maybe they would not take drugs?
If you think the people that created the Muppets did not do drugs themselves...you are sadly mistaken...
But I do agree that kids would be much better off if exposed to this like we where as kids...I don't think not doing drugs has anything to do with not being exposed to jazz, just the opposite if you look at the history of drug use within the jazz community...
@paulrandig Less drugs or more doesn't matter, what's important there could be more thinking people and that's the point of intelligent programs. Intelligent people does less stupid things ;)
@paulrandig I leave my students (K-5, music class) episodes of the muppet show featuring famous musicians when I am going to be absent from class. the 30 minute time period is perfect and they get to be both entertained and exposed to great classic music numbers and performers. The muppets were big (sort of, late 80's early 90's) when I was growing up, and I love bringing them to the newest generation.
ok so I'm a 46 year old male who loves the muppets

does anyone know who played the sax for these muppet sessions?
xhellonhighheels69x 10 months ago
@xhellonhighheels69x Frank Reedy did his Sax playing in the Muppet Show. David Garland did it for the muppet movie.

the drugs reference is of course misplaced. However a beautifull sketch aspecially because the little details ('sing it to me floyd')

Just curious, what is the drug reference? I love the "yeah, sing it to me" part too. Cheers from the Yukon....Roxx

It was a reply to paulrandig, who said: if more children would experience this, maybe they would not take drugs?
Which is of course rubbish, or as we say in the Netherlands: Hits like a dick on a drum.
kunst85 2 years ago
Do we say that in the Netherlands?
I didn't even know that one :p

@GrafRamolo Drug users aren't inherently stupid. People who think that, however, are.

@paulrandig But this WASN'T a children's show. It was a show for everyone. There IS a difference.
VampireKingDuz 1 year ago
@paulrandig I find that hilarious since this was made in an age where drugs were done so much. That and the jazz has always been linked with pot.
VampireKingDuz 10 months ago
@paulrandig between Muppets and Mr. Rogers I learned jazz and that kept me in music and probably out of trouble...
