I dont see how your purchase of a new car that gets 4mpg better would truly make that much of a difference. If I slightly changed my driving habits, I can guarantee you my GMC Envoy would get 4mpg better than it does.

New cars often get worse gas mileage than what is claimed because the engine doesn't become as efficient as possible until it has been broken in.

You can do many things, along with changing your driving habits, to increase your Envoy's efficiency.

I work on cars and know better than not to fall for this crap. It doesn't take much to make a old car more 'fuel efficient' at all. Just plain routine maintenance can do it too and a few little mods.

I /love/ my old Lincolns, I be damned if they deserve a fate such as this. It is wasteful on so many needless levels. People forget, once off the lot a 'new' car is considered USED and depreciates in value /quickly/.

He could of traded his broken down 1986 Delta 88 for something more worthwhile if he knew someone if he was going to turn a good running clunker in.
