  • all these comments from hardcore rotards make me laugh, you lot probably dont even own a fuckin rotary. Its easy to critisize when you dont live with one- there a fuckin nightmare. Their good when they are new and standard, when they get old and people start squeezing stupid amounts of power from them their fucking useless. Good peice of enginering but it belongs in a museum.

I will soon join the ever increasing band wagon which is ls3 conversions and finally enjoy my fd without it dyin

  • Maryland represent!

  • its not an rx7,so burn it to fuck down, shame on you.

  • not an rx7 anymore

  • oOoOoOo gimme gimme gimme. i want

  • i dont agree,in this modern age ,unbreakable apex seals, and a good TUNE on the rotary, you cant beat them, the rotary engine is fucking amazing, and i agree with nigbeats,if you want a 2jz,buy a supra or lexus,or some toyota car, real men drive rotors.go on youtube under peter 20b rx7,street car 700hp 604ft torque,on PUMP GAS and 22psi boost, show me a ny 2jz with that boost and pump gas doing 700hp and full street car stock gearbox, stock supension, the car ran 9.78sec,and no i dont the car or owner.

  • My point is; Mazda==13b rotary, Toyota=2JZ, Mazda=\=2JZ. If you want a light car with a 2JZ, get a supra and lighten it up, or buy an lighter toyota/lexus model and drop it in. I own a WS6 but I can't stand when I see a RX7 of any generation with an LS1 in it. I am not a hater of tuning or modding, on the contrary, I am a lover of cars and don't like when somebody does something stupid, like putting an engine of a different make into a car that can do the same with a correct motor platform...

  • tough..

  • I love a 2JZ n all, but I think a 20B with a Turbo fits a 7 more better. Nice video though

  • epic swap

  • and ill i can do is sit here and dream

  • i'm a true 'rotor' head. i think this looks and sounds nice anyways. ++ for the build quality and and the fact you didn't use an ls1. as for nigbeats.... errrr i think i'm pretty safe to say that he doesn't represent the rotor community at all. besides. this guy will be laughing when he's put those cams in there. that turbo sounds like it could be squeezed a little harder for sure!

  • lol i like how that kid put "rich posers" when 2jz's arn't that expensive lol. & the Rotary is a good motor but it has it's downfalls. The 2jz is soo much better that's my opinion.

  • rotary engines are perfectly reliable, WHEN serviced correctly, oiled correctly, and with seal, belt and gasket replacements On Time. Why do you think the aviation industry uses them?

  • The perfect combination, nice car!

  • hey do you live in souther md? i saw ur import vs damestic (or however u spell it)

  • next best thing to a supra

  • what song is this?

  • DAMN me and my friend were talking about a build just like this and u sir have given me hope how much did this hole build cost

  • Youve taken its heart away... Nomore an RX7......:(

    Rotories FTW!!!!

  • What Gearbox Did you use the r154 5 speed or a 6 speed 1 ? if the 5 speed was it and oem fit with the 2jz? and if 6 speed how did you put it into the rx7 thanks

  • Ive had experience with both rotaries and basically all the Toyota engines and I like the 2jz alot. Th rotaries are nice don't get me wrong but they do have seal problems often if they aren't properly cared for and the apex seals piss me off. I have the tools to build a 2jz in my yard but I don't want to pay to have a 13b ported or machined for 3mm apex seals. That's how i justify why I like the 2j more. Plus I've owned 2 supras.

  • anyone that goes through rotary engines either has someone that is unknowledgeable build them for them, or they dont know what they are doing when they build them themselves... its the only engine where you can have 200hp/L naturally aspirated on gasoline and 1000hp/Lon straight methanol.... its a very easy and tolerable engine, IF you know what your doing, as it is with any engine...

  • Love the car and the work u put in it but when you dumped the clutch for the burn out, the whole engine wobbled so perhaps stiffer engine and gearbox mounts?

And keep up the good work!

  • Wasted your time on that. Should have stick with building a S 2000 2jz.

And for you faggots who think rotaries are shit it doesn't matter what you say because us rotor heads just don't care about what you say. Oh yea btw it's not an rx7 anymore it's a 2jz supra, because clearly people don't know how the Japanese name their cars from. Good day and have fun driving that Supra.

  • this is shit why put a shity toyota engine

might as well buy a supra

you ruined the value of your car i can stay this since i own two

    a 93 and a 99

  • @halomustang69 Actually it increases the value of these cars. 2JZ and LS1 swapped Rx7 routinely sell for more than they would have with the rotary. When I was in high school years back my dad and I put an LS1 engine and 6 speed in one of those cars and threw the rotary in the junkyard. It sold for much more than he paid for it.

  • u ever race(1/4 mie) aganist a rx7 with the rotary engine?

  • i don't care what anyone else says i think putting a 2jz motor in an fd is a great idea. i love the body style and chasis of the fd over the supra but god i love those engines :)

  • just one question .. why?

  • A 26b 4-rotor engine pushing 900hp. I think would smoke the shit out of this 2jz engine. Rotary's tach faster than Piston engines. I agree with Nigbeats, why put a LS1 or Toyota engine in a car that has all the potential to smoke the others. Well to each his own, if that's what this guy want's in his car, then fine........

  • why do you put a piston engine in a rx7?

  • why did you sell the car if you don't mind me asking? seems like you put a lot of love and work into the car...

  • I like it, nice work.

  • @NIGBEATS

LOL, what do you drive kid?

  • @LeeC i agree you cant bet a 13b but each to there owne

  • Comment removed

  • @LeeC probly a honda civic or no car at all

  • @LeeC i understand y u did it, i just went through my 1st rotary in my 94 fd, if i had the money i would do this swap, but for now another throw another 13b in for 70k mile while i save up so, next i can make this happen lol

  • @LeeC how much did this cost bro /

  • @LeeC i don't know what that kid drives but ik for one thing cars are a personal choice and how you build them is up to personal taste its called originallity like i drive a 97' i'm buildin up with my dad as a project and i love that little thing its reliable and its something to learn with so people need to stop dissin personal taste

  • @LeeC dude nice job bad ass car with a even more bad ass motor!!

  • @LeeC well i know im not him but i drive a FD3S with a Cosmo 20b pp :)

  • @LeeC I drive a WS6, I've had an 03 cobra, a 92' Z28, just traded in my 05' STi for my Trans Am about 9 months ago, and I plan on trading my WS6 in and getting a FD. I have had more cars, but these are all the fast ones. I have had over 10 cars since I was 16. I don't mean to come off sounding like a douche but as many of the you tube trolls can see, I tend to do just that.

  • @NIGBEATS LMAO!!!! Dude dont get at people for doing what there doing to there cars you dumb ass. If I ever had a rx7 the first thing I would do is swap it out for 2jz/LS1 so to me to you FUCK YOU BRO!

  • @NIGBEATS dont be gay u gay,its his car,he can do wateva he wants to it,did u see the program of monster garage where jesse james shot an rx7 into pieces with a gatling gun?well yea it was fucked up and sad to see but if any motor to put into an rx7 id also choose the 2jz,infact im gana swop mine soon also.dont get me wrong,i love rotaries but they dont handle the abuse that the 2jz can

  • @NIGBEATS And it is purists like you that are ruining the community as a whole. Why hate on someone because they do something different? Its not like he riced it by putting a big ass spoiler on the trunk and some 24" rims. Let me ask you, is he paying for your bills, putting food in your stomach and roof over your head? No? then why the fuck do you care on what he does with HIS car. Check that bullshit at the door.

  • @NIGBEATS

he did it cause rotary's are shit motor's and make no power.

  • @rmfcishorny their power is shit until you find out what to do with them

  • @NIGBEATS 2jz is one of the best engine in the world kid, the rx7 should feel good to have a beast heart in it! lol

  • @NIGBEATS bro tayota motor is so much better then the rotary crap the car came with and dont worry about his car you should get ur own first

  • @NIGBEATS Alright, lets see you not get pissed after replacing the apex seals for the 21098310913th time.

  • @NIGBEATS stfu....kthanks.

  • @NIGBEATS your a faggfuck piece of shit. go leave your gayass ignorant ricer comments somewere else

  • @NIGBEATS maybe becuase the rx7 is a wonder platform aswome car low weight and the 2jz is a fucking moster of a moster build lik a rock and rotarys are unreliable

  • @NIGBEATS how mad does it make u that im putting an ls1 in one of these? u gonna cry again?

  • @NIGBEATS you do realize that the RX7 isn't perfect, no car is. The 13B is unreliable and relatively torqueless. While the 2JZ isn't the engine i would choose (i'd go LS1, even though it's more common), it's his right and his choice to put whatever fucking engine in the FD chassis he wants. And a "true motor head" would be impressed by the engineering and fabrication that goes into swapping a motor, and would know that the 2JZ is much more capable with stock internals.

    Anyway... Fuck You bro

  • @g35dude0 man you full of shit,i know its not your fault, your dad fucked you as a child, but you are a hater, and fucking looser,13b is unreliable you say, what the fuck you know about rotary, new technology asshole, shut the fuck up let people like you damm?

  • @NIGBEATS You're are such a douche bag. lol. hes swapping the engine, its not like swapping a body.

  • @NIGBEATS lol Douche bag, its not like hes swapping a fukin body.

  • @NIGBEATS lol adderoll induced rant

  • @NIGBEATS you my friend are a real idiot!!

  • @NIGBEATS APEX SEALS . what a joke

  • @NIGBEATS dude you are stupid to be honest if you know anything. the rotary motors arent reliable. not to mention the 2jz only weighs 50lbs more over the roatary motor.. so it keeps its 50/50 weight distribution. its just gets more over steer out of the swap not to mention it actually has torque!!! lol but all in all this swap is beast!! and your taking a light weight car and putting a hell of a motor into it! just think if the supra was this light how ridiculas it would be!! stop being a hater

  • @NIGBEATS Lmao ur so mad. 2jz > all

  • @NIGBEATS fuck him? FUCK YOU! your the one ruining the "true motor heads world"

And what do you mean not to many? There is an abundance of FD Rx7s out there. their just on the pricy side so not to many people buy them when they can get an FC with a 13B instead. Its all preference though and your just a hater

  • @NIGBEATS dam you fucking idiot stop being a hater and give credit when credit s due fuck a rotary engine yea i said it

  • @NIGBEATS Its an honour for a RX7 to have a 2jz in it!

  • @dstaines1992 If its a toyota platform then yes, it would be an honor. I have thought about buying an old toyota pick-up and swapping a 2JZ into it, then turning it into a dirt devil (ie. baja suspension setup). But what is the point of putting a toyota motor in to a mazda? It makes about as much sense as me putting the Iron Lung from the 03-04 cobras into my WS6. Its blasphemous, and a crime against nature. Why not just get a supra and lighten it up?

  • @NIGBEATS .i agree with you bro,if those guys dont know about the rotary engine, and new technology,as unbreakable seals, and a guy who knows how to TUNE the rotary engine, its a small amazing engine.13b doing 6sec .and when the 13b or 20b beat the 2jz rb26 sr20,the first shit they say is the 13b is equal to a v6.the 20b is equal to a v8,bull shit the 13b is 1308cc,the 20b is 2008cc,and thats facts.all the best bro .

  • @NIGBEATS Seriously? Rotary engines are unreliable and can't handle the beating a 2JZ can take. I'm not an expert, but read a fuckin book.

  • @NIGBEATS 13b is unreliable and just can't take the beating a 2jz can. I can understand his decision, and in my opinion, he was 100% right in swapping.

  • @hurilo Its only unreliable when in complete stock form, and even then its only unreliable when pushed to its limits. when properly supported a rotary can take far more punishment than its JDM counterparts. A true motorhead who appreciates every engine for its true limits and potential knows what kind of monster a rotary platform is. Only Ricers and complete morons who go and buy an FD with their daddy's money and run it hard in stock form complain of unreliability. So, which are you?

  • @NIGBEATS there were tons of rx7's made and i am glad that some one did a swap to this beast better keep the car alive then in a scraper, besides rotary engines just don't last as long as piston engines. I think he did a great job with the swap so why don't you go back to the hole you came from

  • @NIGBEATS stfk man :D nobody cares what you think. :D you can keep the fuckin rotary engine and get anotherone after 80k miles or so...

  • nice build, did u buy the kit from 2jzswap? i have a 99' fortune rx7 and just went through my 2nd rotary engine, considering 1jz but don't know what to do about my bonnet , did u have any problems with the swap?

  • @xway

After seeing the t2 hood in person it's REALLY not bad. if you go 1j you can also run the scoot hood. I didn't keep the car long enough so I never got around to putting a hood on it haha

  • it looks like Rx7's are ment to have 2jz's.... if I ev did a engine swap with one i would 2JZ it but I still love the Rotary.

  • Are u using the stock differential or did you swap that out aswell? Just wondering..

  • @markone609 I was using the rear diff out of a 03-04 cobra, DSS axles and Driveshaft, Custom mount kit

  • It fit?? Dayum nice

  • man that is a nice swap!

  • What did you do to get it fit, because I know the rotary engine is very compact compared to 2jz.

  • Very nice car. glad to see a 2JZ swap rather then the V8 conversion

  • did u modify the r154 5speed tranny cross-member to fit the v160 6speed tranny

  • i love it.

  • Hey lee please help give me some pros and cons to this swap!! I'm bout to place my order into tech2. I hve not seen many 2j rx7s. Also let me know if you hve anything you wanna sale please. I'm a motivated buyer!!!

  • Very sick swap. First burn out made me laugh though cause it was peg legging. Open diff, right?

Love me some LSD's but they get annoying for DD, lol.

    Very nice swap though, props.

  • i drive welded on my track/street car lol

  • That must be fun, haha.

I've never driven welded diff, I wouldn't know.

How hard is it for DDing?

  • not hard at all.. its just really annoying because it skips alot when just driving at low speeds around town.. but if i feel like drifting off the track, then i can.. its not a big deal at all and doesn't really affect normal driving.. but if your trying to do autocross and do fast griping turns, it understeers.. but hey, kick the clutch and drift.

i would recommend it over an LSD just because its FREE.. it doesn't kill your tires THAT much because your not actually drifting everywhere you go

  • True, hard to beat free.

...You just need a welder and you pretty much just weld the gears together right?

Thinking about getting a 240 again, I had one before, but had a Kaaz 2-way, was fun...but spending 800-900 dollars on a 2-way for what would be a track-only car is ehhh.

  • and a strip of 20 gauge metal. you need a good welder because you dont want the welds to break off and the diff will be garbage.

  • nice swap man, im decideing if i should go 2j on my 3rd gen, was the swap worth it????

  • I loved it, I actually parted the car out and bought a supra aswell. I still have the shell and will be turning into a all out drag car. Built 2jz, th400, 80mm turbo and nitrous. This will be a very slow process over the next couple years though

  • 2Jz is a supra engine? correct? If so that's a better move than dropping in the Ls1 IMO

  • @Bleedingsouls18

I've driven an LS1 RX7...it was crazy on power. I'd still rather have the 2jz. An LS1 conversion is very cheap but in the end it still sounds like a Camaro...no thanks.

  • what a waste of a good car a stock 3 rotor with a turbo woudl kil it with a 2 jz

  • you talk tripe.

  • @akademiks604bc

Yeah a 3-rotor is bad ass. I have an FD. I too would prefer the 2jz. Cheaper than the 3-rotor conversion.

  • hey, what radiator did u use??

  • super super delicious!

  • post a final vid with rolling races

  • very nice car man!!

  • to be honest after that, your probally going to be getting bout the same preformance:p

    idk maybe im wrong

  • except alot more tq.

  • eh but the weight of the rotary makes up for lack of torque :p

  • deff not lol

  • Only thing ruined would be the music. However....amazing build. Congrats!

  • Had better music in it, youtube removed it :(

  • Hey nitrousboy your an idiot. The rotary engine is good for one thing only. The boat anchor for the Queen Mary 2. ha ha

  • this car is a piece of dodoo, cant even beat a evo from a 2nd gear roll ... jk lee ;].. car is badass man

  • Looks like shit why ruin a rx7 like this...

  • bad ass I was waiting for you to finish the Bild. looking forward for more vids ..

  • nice car brother,.

  • No problem! Ever since google bought youtube things have got all dumb with copywright laws..

  • yes! thank you for reuploading it LeeC! let the beast roar!!!!
