the way i fish for them is by hooking a bluegill through the nose sideways and cutting its back twice by the fin then just lettin them sit by some lilys with the bail open and the line wrapped around a rubber worm a few times and as soon as they hit it that worm unwraps
i generaly catch them in slow moving water, the particular place were i catch them all day is a square concrete tube that connects and Ox-bow under a road, we had a recent huge flood here and i think the back of this large oxbow connects to the river again!! any ways catch them on the outward flowing end of this about 100 yrd tube, water fills it to about inch from the top, and the water moves slow enough the surface is still, but enough to float ur minnow and Float out 3-5 inches a second :)
the best place is where there are canals with lots of aquatic plants. take a good dipnet and a strong flashlight and go scooping through the plants at night. you can catch all sorts of interesting fish like that.
Snakehead would win against a bowfin!

Since this fish is A.K.A. the "American Snakehead," the big question remains. Who would win between a Bowfin, and a Snakehead??

probably caught it while fishing for something else lol. Not exactly a common fish to catch so keeping one as a pet is an awesome opportunity.

I was fishing off the Clear Creek bridge, near Whiteville, TN.
I saw a Grinnel (Bowfin) that was @ least a 10 pounder. Sure is a weird looking fish.
