The most interesting thing about this song is it was originally written about Batman for the Batman & Robin movie. Watchmen features 2 characters patterned after Batman, Night Owl looks like him, Rorschach was written to be Batman in the real world, according to Alan Moore who wrote the graphic novel. Strangely, 10 years later, Zach Snyder chooses this song for the 1st Watchmen trailer. It has come full circle now.

I actually disagree with @sean2a. I prefer the footage of the actual war, as that footage and music juxtaposition is original. The footage with Watchmen was created by someone else and placed with this song before you did it. I prefer your original work better, and it's more interesting giving real life and actual events a soundtrack.

Good video... I only wish that the whole thing were WWII footage. That would've been much better. The splicing of watchmen and WWII on opposite ends of the video is confusing and takes away from the emotional momentum of the song. I understand why you chose it I just don't agree with it. Good job though with your timing, and slow-mo, etc...

They actually appeared on a compilation of demos for Smashing Pumpkin's album "Adore", they were the final 2 tracks on the first of the two disks. Corgan was then asked to include "The End is the Beginning is the End" on the soundtrack.
