If you watch live clips the second and third chord (G,A) of the verses are played in using and open F position rather than as a bard chord. That allows you to add some subtle chord variations on the fifth string you can hear on the record.

impressive man the strat sounds great and the delay is perfect. One thing if you wanna get the hendrix feel, try doing the chords with the thumb on the low-E like he used to do. It lets you fiddle with the pinky. Keep on rockin on the best licks outta Hendrix. I love the wailin' at the end, shreddin that axe to pieces!
