This is great. i've had this bootleg for decades. john and Paul on acoustics. this is said to have been recorded in the bathroom. supposedly as a joke they even included the sound of the "lou" flushing when they submitted the demo to Billy J.

to superman: I disagree. The beatles were so desperate to get him (Ringo) they bought his contract out from another band. As either Lennon or McCartney once said (verbatim) "we liked him immediately because he didnt showboat (over do it) and held the beat." No one is saying that he was technically the best drummer around but he had a unique style that fit well with the beatles. Lets not confuse technical proficiency with "art" & "style" because it is not the same thing.

As a Canadian kid living in Germany in the late 50s and tin the mid- to late-60s, I witnessed the dramatic change. Not only in attitudes (getting rid of the post-war syndrome), but in fashion, in politics (yes, the Berlin Wall coming down could be attributed to the cultural changes sparked by the Beatles). And thanks to TV and records the World was able to come together... So yes, they did change the world.

In "The Beatles Recording Sessions", McCartney claims that "we" wrote Bad to Me. The vertical structure of the melody sounds very much like McCartney to me. But regardless, what a fabulous Lennon vocal. It would have been a much better song on With The Beatles than the goofy Little Child.

yes BEALTESPIP, the monkeys wrote a "few" of their songs...not alot. Mainly it was mike nesmith. I think Mickey Dolenze wrote one. I am not sure of the exact number but Nesmith may have written 4 songs they recorded.
