Great video sir! I would recommend Tyvek suits for your pandemic kit with the boots and gloves as well. That way if for some reason you need to go into the quarantine room you can depending on what kind of virus it is. I would also throw in a few decks of cards or boardgames to help them pass the time.
Your videos are very informative and a refreshing perspective.
the urinal is a good idea, you might also try a ping pong ball instead of the plug for the urinal it will float when you pee in it and after the water rinses out the funnel it will sit over the hole. Great video!!!
I like your video because you talk about some of the day to day decisions that need to be made in a pandemic situation. Alot of people talk about their shotguns and ammo rather than the real business of surviving a pandemic.

You are right on track designing you quarantine room. Statistically, a pandemic is more likely than any other SHTF scenario. Throughout human history (including modern times!) the world averages one major pandemic every 30 yrs. Influenza is the most likely in modern times, and aside from tracking the spread, we have few medical tools available to treat it more than we did in 1918. Hospitals will be overwhelmed in a few days.

@cheska576 Hi Cheska, about your comment on the mask vs. respirator choice - its not really about filtration but about the fit to the face. The hope is to stop the aerosols & droplets that carry the virus.
Surgical masks are good, but they don't fit the face as well as N95, however even a slightly crushed or poorly-fitting N95 is worse than a surgical mask :)
Don't reuse N95 either. They are single use items, so one should have a few dozen boxes around if they plan on patient care :)
@cheska576 Yeah, once the contaminated droplets have dried on the surface, there is a chance of pulling them straight through the mask - Yikes!
Consider them contaminated once used. You 'can' set them in bright sun for a few hours if you have no other option.
As for fit, clean shave & lightly pinch the nose piece to seal. Put your hands over the mask & inhale to see if there are leaks around your nose/cheeks
Let's hope we never have to actually do this from our homes, eh? :)
I know you keep saying that your isolation room is for other people coming to your home. It is very likely you may need to remove one of your family members and place them into the isolation room at some point during a pandemic (I know that sucks to think about). I know you didn’t want to stock meds but you really should have a decent supply of Cipro for ANY prepping situation. It’s a common antibiotic, you need a doctor or even a veterinarian to write a prescription. Be creative but get some
Great video. Bet the Lenny's sign didn't say Whole wheat crusts and health plates back then lol. Do you think pandemic will be what tips the scales? in NY.. pandemic would be horrible. My opinion..and I have many, this flu that they vaccine for, is manufactured. you hit it square when you said monkey piss, and our govt knows allll about it. Good way to end the series. Thanks for sharing such good ideas.
Great video, lots of information I handn't considered. I'm also lacking in the pandemic prep are, given me a lot to think about! Did you ever find out what those caterpillars turn into? lol I'm curious now!
Great video Brooklyn. God bless. It might not hurt you to get some Lime dust and a Colloidal Silver generator too. The CS will kill anything and heal those that are coming down with the flu bug. The lime dust is for the bodies before burial, just in case. Peace.
Shout out from Queens, great stuff man! You covered all the stuff for temp toiletries and sanitation in there-will definitely do the same. I have a similar setup (but smaller, being in an apartment) and wanted to share the idea of using a UV lamp to disinfect an area. I plan on having a bulb on hand to install in places where we can hang their outside clothes when they come inside. Use it where you leave shoes, jackets before going into the main space of the house. Thanks and keep posting
Damn. I miss New York pizza!.... You hit on the the most difficult thing we would have to do. Make a decision to help loved ones and friends or endanger your immediate family. You are right on about the need to think this through before it happens. To tell you the truth I don't really know what I'd do. There may be no good answers. Way to go on not smoking. 7 years now for me..
Great video, made me think of a couple of things I didn't think about. boy I wish Yankeeprepper would put that video on the Yukon stove back up. It's funny how he did that video and those Yukon stoves disappeared.
bro, first and foremost..awesome information..second, so many great quotes and spots in there. muhahahahaha! dig it man, I love this series and the info your putting out. Good stuff my friend
@brooklynprepper doin great brother..you got me thinkin again after this vid. I've always thought if anything would bring us down it would be a pandemic, then this solar shit started and I got hooked on that. I'm not a financial guy, so I gues ignorance is bliss on that front. love the series bud. Call me anytime and keep in touch my friend
Great Video! There's a much better way to deal with human waste (feces and urine). I'm reading "The Humanure Handbook", and it is AWESOME!! If you dispose of it correctly, it would turn into (Humus) the best compost for your vegetable garden EVER!! People pay good money for this. You wouldn't have piles of plastic bags filled with S_ _ T that would poison your soil and make you sick. Every prepper should have this book and use the technique. I am.
@brooklynprepper And just so you know, i will make sure to let people know that this is how it will go down in my house if people show up. i did learn a lot and i laughed.. it's why we love your videos.. Brooklyn in Da house...!! I went to tech.. i miss my hometown.. but happy to be out of the city for now.. all the best brooklyn, all the best.
Well thought out. When I have “the talk” with family members many of them miss everything I say about prepping for hard times but they always conclude “I know what I’m going to do come to your house” nothing wrong with that but doing a little for themselves first would be nice. Thanks for the vid.
Dude you need that ecp guy to get that shack together. I can put in a good word for you and he might help you out....lol Great video as always brother...

It turns in to an ugly brown / yellowish moth. They live as caterpillars for up to 14 years before turning into a moth, then they live 2 days. They actually freeze solid during the winter and create a cryoprotectant so they don't die. Pretty neat insect.
Some personal prevention items: Wein Personal Air Filter, Portable Home Air Filter, Essential Oils w/Diffuser, Silver-Impregnated Gloves, Black Elderberry extract/Sambucol/dried berries... consider using delivery services for shopping/groceries during the advent of a flu/cold outbreak. Superb job on the vid, BP! Thanks for sharing!.... you're a great teacher and inspiration. Best wishes to you and your loved ones -
Don't be too sure about the flu killing the elderly etc. The Spanish flu in 1918 killed mostly those between 15 and 35. The virus caused such a violent reaction in healthy immune systems the, victims drowned in their own immune secretions. Most other people had some immunity to flu variants.
As always you have given another food for thought vid. Thanks. But why would any one be out and about ? You could always say that your not feeling well yourself.
Also dont' forget the best defense Silver collidal, vitamin c, Zinc, garlic and apple cider vinegar.
@forgemetal1 forgemetal1 what do you gain by leaving a comment like this? Do you realize that your not hurting BP by making rude comments? All that rude comment does is make you look like an idiot and I DID NOT CALL YOU AN IDIOT, I said it made you look like an idiot. I'm sure you are a very inteligent person. Now don't think i;m picking on you cause i'm not. I just wanted to tell you that I forgive you and that I love you. PM me sometime if you want to chat, Have a nice day.
put a rubber hose on the end of the funnel. Feed the hose through the wall or floor then down hill from the room and no emptying. Deer camp secret LOL.
What if you have people half way through there quarintine time and new people show up, cant put the new people in with the quaritined people and risk infecting those who may or may not be sick. Always something LOL.
The quaritine room, plastic and tape can be used in a fallout situation too.
Great Video! Only ONE PROBLEM, I hope you have at least 3 more of those urinals! TRUST ME, after having to use 5 gal. buckets as a toilet for many months, I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE, We used separate buckets for our "bathroom" and the urinal had to be emptied a lot more than the compost toilet did. Do a test, make your entire family use a bucket for one week, for urine only, and you will get a better idea of just how many buckets you will need, or how often you will have to empty it. Just a tip!
Great stuff. There was a lot of...extras...but that's you, and I wouldn't want a minute less of it. I hope you don't take this wrong, but I think of you as sort of the Joe Pesci of prepping. The accent always gets to me and I love it. You are definitely one of my go-to guys for prepping ideas. There's always lots of stuff going on with your prepping lifestyle and it's a good learning experience for me. "Live for today, prep for tomorrow." That's exactly how I see it. Keep at it my friend!
Awesome bike. Great bug out location. If you have a woodstove going in your quarantine room you probably don't need the fan. The woodstove will pull air out of the room.
What if it's you who has the flu? What if you have already been exposed? I am glad at least your willing. The reality, God forbid, is always not what you prepared for but I agree that people should be educated, so hey, that's really good. Your nicer than some of the people calling themselves preppers out thereon YT and more intelligent.Good vid, have you watched the movie Carriers? makes you think.
@grangersmith Oh and love the part of your vid showing Sat Night Fever locations, great! Wanted to add you are the nicest most intelligent prepper out in YT land!! Really good vid! I think it would be good for you to study about the care of illness. Most people die from dehydration and infections from the flue or pandemics, unless it is something like the dreaded one, hemorrhagic fever then your toast I guess. You have compassion care and intelligence the best survival skills!
Great vid bro, excellent information! Great DIY video for preppers to prep for a pandemics. I really enjoy the city survival series especially since I am living in a city now. Keep up the great work. Your time and effort is much appreciated. Congrats on becoming a non-smoker. If you need anything feel free to ask! God Bless!
Cool side bar on lenny's pizza BP. more and more people are gonna figure it out. nice lil city bike bugout vehicle to... thanks for the info and videos.
Hi BP. Just the spent the last week without power, water and heat. Taught me a lot. There are still parts of Connecticut without power. I have a wood stove...not hooked up yet...and now I absolutely must get a propane back-up Gen to connect to my 400 gal propane tank. Already have the food and water think covered. My neighbors freaked out more than I did. Amazing what only 1 week will do.
DANG IT! it is breakfast time and now I am craving PIZZA! DARN YOU@!@! it all depends on the pandemic.. we have had a case of Whooping Cough go around. the sad think is Utah state mandates that kids be in school 3 of 5 days a week regardless of a cough.. after my daughter caught it and passed it around my family we debated with the school and they did nothing so we pulled her from public school. that is where this will start I am sure!
I can see you are using your noodle. Having worked in a hospital for over 25 years with patients in isolation you have done a wonderful job thinking of all the necessities and possibilities. Especially negative pressure. You are right on brother. Good job.
You can make the hard descions easier by telling family and friends in advance how you plan on handling this sort of thing. Seeing how serious you are might just promt them into making some changes and getting a bit prepared theselves. You also need to rotate your bleach. It degrades with time. You might get a better deal on masks from the hardware store. The dust masks are identicle to those you buy in the pharmacy. Great video~!
@rondygal I absolutely agree with letting people know where you stand in advance, which in my mind is a large part of prepping. And you're dead on with the bleach comment.
Great video BP. In KC this morning they were discussing the EAS on the morning news. One of the (a) primary reasons they indicated for the test was the possibility of a pandemic. Great timing for your video. It is sad to think that someone in your safe transition apartment should get sick. That is a part 2 that would be difficult to make.
@tomyhill123 Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! Crazy man is back!!!! lol how you been bro!!!!
Hey brother..Bronx here.I am glad I can speak the same language as you.I dont know about our brothers out west and down south.I bet that they dont know that if you broke your arms on the bat mobile. That you wouldnt be able to speak.Arms and mouth are connected...lol..tie up the arms, mouth shuts down.Great work on the vids, and great job with the non smoking.I am trying to look for a bug out place in Delaware cty.Roscoe area myself.
@brooklynprepper Oh cool...My friend has a place near Clark falls around exit 93 you know the rte.Great to know like minded people are up that way.How do you or myself get private messages here.I dont want to put out to much info here. For now he is my bug out place to go to.I am looking for some property up near him till that happens. My plan is to stay in Dodge till the first wave of knuckle heads get on the road.I can hang out here for at least 6 months.Love your work and the humor too. Thanks
Good thinking BP. Two things that might help. One is a negative pressure system. You can make your own. It will keep the air in a sick room in the sick room. You just have to create a lower pressure area in the sick room.
Two. You need a way to communicate from room to room. That way you don't have to open the seals to talk.
also if your building negative pressure in your safe room and your house is connected your house is also drawing negative pressure. you need to supplement the air coming into your house and build positive pressure. you can do this with any type of hepa filter with a merv 9 particulate rating or higher. this way your building positive pressure in your house with clean air pushing out to your negative pressure room. Be safe brother.
Some people are just caffeine sensitive. Its not your fault. You may want to try switching to decaff before making a video. I'm just sayin. LOL. Kevin's a great guy so I'm sure he's cool with you "borrowing" his convalescent commode. His medical insurance will buy him a new one next time. Great stuff brother. Can't wait for the next one.
well im glad ive got 2 bathrooms and my own well and septic system here so i wont be needing the bucket for pee or the portable toilet but we wont be able to lock our selves in the house cause the animals will need to get water and food if not we wont be getting fresh eggs and chicken to eat
Good thoughts BP I wonder if your going to hold people in a room until it's safe for them to come out do you make it so that you can lock them in? just in case they go crazy and decide to come after you.. oh and congrats on being a nonsmoker.
38:45 talking about zombies lmao that one got me, "You're gonna have to knock em in the head." haha oh man. But seriously one of my biggest fears is zombies even though its highly unlikely, its possible. We know of creatures on our planet that take over the minds of insects like a zombie would. Only a matter of time before the government tries to master that and turn it into a bio-weapon.
Great video sir! I would recommend Tyvek suits for your pandemic kit with the boots and gloves as well.

Your nicer than some of the people calling themselves preppers out thereon YT and more intelligent.Good vid, have you watched the movie Carriers? makes you think.
grangersmith 3 months ago
@grangersmith Oh and love the part of your vid showing Sat Night Fever locations, great! Wanted to add you are the nicest most intelligent prepper out in YT land!! Really good vid! I think it would be good for you to study about the care of illness. Most people die from dehydration and infections from the flue or pandemics, unless it is something like the dreaded one, hemorrhagic fever then your toast I guess. You have compassion care and intelligence the best survival skills!

Amazing what only 1 week will do.
danieljh 3 months ago
@danieljh Get that stove going brother!!!!! Nice to see your ok!!!
brooklynprepper 3 months ago
DANG IT! it is breakfast time and now I am craving PIZZA!

Not necessarily regarding a pandemic but collect crutches, slings, neck braces, stretchers, wheelchairs etc.
Any medical assistance type device could be needed.
You get a banged up leg and an old wooden crutch would sure make life easier.

Great video~!
rondygal 3 months ago
@rondygal I absolutely agree with letting people know where you stand in advance, which in my mind is a large part of prepping. And you're dead on with the bleach comment.

Great video BP. In KC this morning they were discussing the EAS on the morning news. One of the (a) primary reasons they indicated for the test was the possibility of a pandemic. Great timing for your video. It is sad to think that someone in your safe transition apartment should get sick. That is a part 2 that would be difficult to make.

timochio1953 3 months ago
Good thinking BP. Two things that might help. One is a negative pressure system. You can make your own. It will keep the air in a sick room in the sick room. You just have to create a lower pressure area in the sick room.
Two. You need a way to communicate from room to room. That way you don't have to open the seals to talk.
scarmenl 3 months ago
@scarmenl communicate from room to room yes thank for the info brother!!!!
brooklynprepper 3 months ago
@brooklynprepper Sorry about the negative pressure. I got off the start to quick.
Have a good one sir.
scarmenl 3 months ago
also if your building negative pressure in your safe room and your house is connected your house is also drawing negative pressure. you need to supplement the air coming into your house and build positive pressure. you can do this with any type of hepa filter with a merv 9 particulate rating or higher. this way your building positive pressure in your house with clean air pushing out to your negative pressure room. Be safe brother.
