  • I really like how you did it, your not afraid of making a move. just throw that other colour in it! see if it works out :) nice!

  • Beautiful! Yanghaiying, I have some 10 year old acrylic paint in some bottles that is all dried up; is there anyway to save them? Can I just add water? Should I just throw them away? I don't like to add anything to the landfill if I can reuse. If anyone else out there can help me, please write to me. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you and blessings to everyone.

    Rogue.

  • @ParagonPerfumes Idk if it's too late to tell you but, sad face. Once they're dried up, there's no turning them back

  • This was not a waste. inspirational, thank you. Keep up the good work, I love your natural way with colors.

  • I have to say since pretty much all I've used most of my life have been acrylics you did quite well for your first time!

  • hen piao liang!

  • wow. definantly elegant. I would love to try this in sumi-E . how to start lol.

  • very beautiful! 5*

  • how beautiful :)

  • amazing<3

  • Hahaha! I love the video description ;)

  • I am so happy that you are beside me for the end of weekend. Enjoy my dear friend.

  • Beautiful!

  • cool

  • oh and --- sometimes i dilute the acrylics a lot so that its like watercolour - that way you save lots of paint! - try it! it might work? i even tried to mix acrylics with watercolours although it made not much difference - but experimenting was fun :)

  • i dislike acrylics for painting detailed art - i use it in school - never at home - but my favourite paints are watercolour (sorry i spell 'colour' like that, its the english way lol). I did use acrylics before i did chinese painting. I find acrylics too thick and expensive to use. But you may disagree with me...

  • i agree completely i like watercolours the best coz they last better than other paint coz you just add water

  • I can't believe it's the first time you use them, that's pure talent, congratulations!. I once used acrilics but personaly I prefer watercolor xD.

  • One should always paint as if the paint was free! Nice.

  • Hey, I went to your site. Are those your paintings? So cool, (no, cool is not the word). I hear you loud. LOVE them.

  • Through my self conscious distress I admit that the gimcrack on my YouTube page is, in-fact, mine. (And I shall lower the volume as I prefer to have people repeatedly ask, "what the hell are you talkin' about"). --Thanks for the praise.

  • What the hell are you doing? Pump my heart!

  • Yes! ... Well done. I'm so glad you are trying acrylics. Get yourself some "expired wallpaper sample books" from paint stores or flooring stores and try your work on that. I will send you some. I think calligraphy in acrylic on wallpaper sheets would look great and be inexpensive to create. I'm so happy to see you play with something new! You are a brave one, Haiying :O)

  • I just want to get rid of the old paints. It is thick like tooth paste. I use it, it will have a life. I do not use it, it will stay there until dried. That's a main drive. The side effect is that I am finding a new world. Same as the language class, you are bringing me a new opportunity.

  • mmmm I use Acrylic color with watercolor brushes ... is it ok ?

  • I used a $1 dollor nylon brush.

  • yeah .. but would it be ok if I used watercolor brush ? ... and one more thing .. can I send some of my works to you so I can take your advice ?

  • You can use watercolor brushes, but you have to take good care of them. Acrylics are essentially plastic, so they ruin the more "natural" kind of brushes much more easily. Make sure to wash them properly once you're finished with water and a bit of soap, gently pushing the paint trapped at the roots towards the ends. Never ever let the brush dry with acrylics on it.

I have to admit I love to use the "wrong" brushes with acrylics for texture's sake.

  • thanks !!

  • you're welcome.

  • Really good stuff. This looks a little glossy. I wonder what paper are you using?

Thanks for all of the variety!

  • photo copy paper

  • nice blending
